Romney Supporters Banned From Free Republic
Fox News Nation ^ | By Emily Schultheis, Politico

Posted on 11/01/2011 1:05:31 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Free Republic founder Jim Robinson has a message for supporters of Mitt Romney: go away.

In an email to POLITICO this afternoon, Robinson admitted that the site routinely blocks Romney supporters from posting -- and offered no apologies for the practice:

Free Republic is a pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-small government, pro-constitution, pro-liberty site. Governor Romney is none of the above. His record is that of an abortionist, gay rights pushing, gun grabbing, global warming advocating, big government, mandate loving, constitution trampling, flip-flopping liberal progressive with no core values. That and the fact that he is the chief architect and advocate for ObamaCare disqualifies him for any consideration whatsoever on Free Republic as a potential nominee for the presidency.

http://www.nationaljournal.com/2012-presidential-campaign/gop-strategist-charlie-black-we-don-t-need-a-palin-on-the-ticket-20111101

“No need for Conservative VP like Palin veteran party strategist Charlie Black says, because the candidates are already conservative enough.”

“We don’t have any moderates running,” Black said. “I don’t think there will be any need to do philosophical balance.”

The GOP liberal elite is simply stupid if they think we will believe that crap!

Absolutely NOT.

The House and Senate are too important!

Vote out fossil incumbents and elect TEA PARTY patriots!

Not a long-time poster. Am a political and social and religious “conservative”.

Evidently, your decision is applauded by the majority of posters. But not by me. And not that Romney is close to my first choice.

However, I believe that: 1) We are all better off hearing and reading, thinking over, and deciding based upon thorough information. Information that survives examination and analysis as factual and sensible, and 2) simply giving a loud Bronx cheer does nothing to enlighten any discussion, except to resemble some of the Columbia University students and others when any speaker addresses them with an unpopular thought. Their hostility—and idiocy—precludes any positive result, and only reinforces mindlessness.

Sad to say, sometimes that kind of blind rage is put forth here as acceptable argumentation.

In this context "admitted" is the wrong word. I see this misuse frequently in the press.

There's no crime, no fault, no reluctance, no failure. These are core elements of the verb "admit." Confessed and admitted are interchangeable.

The use of "admitting" passes judgement on both the act and acting party. It expresses disapproval, it suggests the acting party has a guilty conscience or should.

Misused in this way, it fails the basic principle of unbiased journalistic integrity and moves into advocacy and editorializing.

The journalist is implicitly making a moral call on the policy.

A child admits breaking a vase. A politician admits cheating on a spouse. A thief admits embezzling money.

“Banning people is a bad idea.”

Depends on the infraction I would imagine. Probably more (imo) deserve a suspension rather than outright banning but then it isn’t my website. However if Jim tells you, “Mittens are not welcome here” then you know the score up front.

“Abuse of power really.”

Whose power? This is Jims’ house. He can do with it as he sees fit. If someone were to enter your home and make an ass of themselves, would you have the authority and be in the right to tell that person that they were no longer welcome?

Yeah, right. Hang it in your ear. We do not support abortionism, homosexualism, progressivism, liberalism, socialism, marxism, environmentalism, RINOism, etc, on FR. Period. Advocates of same are not welcome here, are considered trolls, site pests and disruptors. And I’ve stated that up front many many times. Trolls and other unwelcome site pests are routinely escorted off the premises.

Romney is a liberal with an (R) next to his name and a vote for a liberal with an (R) next to their name is still a vote for a liberal.

Banning people is a bad idea. Abuse of power really.

FR is private property. Do you believe that you can deny people entry into your home or is that abuse of power too?

Don't worry, there are plenty of places on the internet where you can post your soft porn. Now go away.

” Robinson admitted “

Admitted? That is a term usually used when someone is trying to hide something. Don’t believe his NRA ( No Romney Allowed ) policy was something he was hiding.

Its been a known fact for anyone willing to take a look around the place.

The intense dislike of a Rino is because we are conservatives and we know what Romney is. ObamaII.

I'm sorry, but I will have to vote for the creep just like I had to vote for McCain (and then went home and showered.)

I suspect it didn't help then and it won't now.

At this point in time, the election of a RINO would be a bigger disaster than the reelection of Obama.

Good job Jim. Romulus supporters can click on Toyko Rove’s site, or Romulus’s site. They are both one and the same.

If I came into your work as a competitor and disrupted your business, you would not ban me?

If I came into your church and taught - say allah is great, you would not ban me?

If I came into your school and taught marxist doctrine to your kids, you would not ban me?

If I came into your HOME....

Listen, I could go on and on. But I doubt you would ever get the point. How have you been a FReeper as long as you have making a dumb statement like that?
