PJM Sources Report Details of Alleged Cain Incident
PJMedia ^ | November 3, 2011 | Richard Pollock

Posted on 11/03/2011 10:04:50 AM PDT by bbernard

Adding to the ongoing Herman Cain sexual harassment controversy, two sources have now confirmed to PJ Media that a female employee of the National Restaurant Association told associates she had been brought by Mr. Cain to his Crystal City, Virginia residence where she alleged “he had taken advantage of me.”

One source, a male, told PJ Media:

Herman took advantage of seniority and power with a young woman. It was an abuse of power.

Implying that coming forward with the accusations was an ordeal for the young woman, the source also said:

Who do you believe, a CEO or a mid-level staffer? It was unsettling for her to make charges.

The name of the woman — who was in her early twenties at the time of the alleged incident — has been confirmed by PJ Media. We have chosen not to reveal her identity for reasons of discretion.

Both sources, one male and one female, worked at the time — mid-1990s — for the governmental affairs department of the National Restaurant Association, as did the woman.

The Race Traitor stuff is just too deeply ingrained.

Good point. I'm wary of Cain primarily based on political experience issues even though I like his platform. However, there seem to be a number of variables on this election season which are vastly different than prior ones and I would hesitate to try and predict what affect any incident will have based on prior experience.

If the worst accusations are true, I can see Cain easily turning this around by seeking forgiveness, making the Romney establishment the bad guy which could turn both conservatives and minorities.

Of course he will loose the purists on the conservative party but no real life candidate will ever satisfy them. This incident is definitely a turning point for Cain to earn his political stripes.

RUSH is laughing at this childish reporting.

Yes, he is...because it's not "reporting". Innuendoes make for trashy smears. I think Snerdley is reading this thread.

Meanwhile, the Cain campaign is raking in contributions. We the People see this "reporting" for exactly what it is.

Why would Pajamas Media have an axe to grind here? I understand Politico doing a hit piece on a conservative, but why would PJ? If you look at the other articles by Richard Pollock, he is clearly not a left. He isn't sharing the source's names, they aren't anonymous to him..

I meant that his sources may have the axe to grind.

But, Pollock should know better than to publish something like this, without identifying his sources.

there’s something missing from the story.

I suspect what's missing is the truth.

Three women having issues with Cain indicates a pattern of behavior.

Oddly, all three during his 3(?) years as head of the NRA. Cain is in his mid-60s, so has been working at least 40 years. Was he perfectly upstanding and true until he was with the NRA, when he suddenly turned into Bill Clinton, then reverted to his normal self.

The whole thing stinks, IMO.

“The previous version incorrectly attributed comments from one source to the other source.”

I'm really glad they cleared that one up. You wouldn't want to incorrectly attribute a claim to the wrong anonymous source. That would be bad reporting.

Consensual or not, have sex with an underling while you are in upper management and you will be guilty of sexual harassment in any court, under current standards.

It may not be fair, or right, but that is the way it is.

Cain’s seeming inability to shut down the talk with clear explanation and straight answers speaks to a bigger, more tragic truth.

Exactly, it's not the issue of if or not this was a happening or the details of...it's how is Cain handling this crisis...and that's not good by any means...especially knowing it was coming when he decided to run...should have been far better prepared and he simply wasn't. Now it's a matter of making the best out of the situation, make money as he goes, and wait til the cash cow is milked to death for all making money off this scandal....but he needs to shut up!

A smear is a smear is a smear. That's what this is.

If you're looking for the truth, then please don't draw conclusions from bogus stories and anonymous sources.

Wait for the facts. So far all we've gotten is a whirlwind of anonymous innuendo and (in the case of this PJM 'report') highly innaccurate information.

Is that going to be the new litmus test for GOP candidates and not Rats. At this point, I couldn’t care less, the entire globe is ready to explode. If Cain has the ability to improve situation, then I stand behind him.

I understand why people want to build a wall around him. It isn’t fair - they didn’t care about Clinton, they didn’t vet Obama. So - there is a “up yours” mentality towards the RINOs and the MSM. I get it.

I hear ya, but almost 3,000 paid with their lives for Clinton and his juggling act on 9/11. Never again!

This kind of distractions for a POTUS can have deadly and long term consequences. I still can't believe the excuse making going on over this issue. It wasn't acceptable for Bill Clinton, yet it's okay for Cain because he's on our side?

It's nuts and disingenuous.

“No Kidding, what is going on over there at PJ? (shake head)”

Exactly! (The only reason I was originally open to giving this story any possibility of credibility was because it was coming from PJM - J. Christian Adams did incredible work in exposing the DOJ scandals, etc.).

This story is shameful. This is running in competition with Pullotico here.

Cuban Leaf,

Thank you for your understanding.

An ordeal like that is extremely hard to go through, and the ramifications of it never go away for the victim or the parent, and for a spouse either I would suppose.

There are always memories and times of anger, more there are times of wondering where that person may be, will he ever show up again. That kind of thing.

And to speak here has me in tears. My heart is broken right now. The pain and hurt... and embarrassment NEVER goes away. Can you imagine how hard it was to speak here!

I have been SO upset that those conservative leaders I thought a lot of are now mocking people who have been through some sort of sexual hurt. I don’t know if we are talking rapes or assault or just words and actions... perhaps even if they were words and actions, some of those ladies and girls may be more sensitive because something horrible had already happened to them in their lives. Who knows?

But I have seen first hand how much it hurts and how horrible the consequences are, like the consequences of seeing those conservative leaders I used to respect mock victims, not even giving them a chance to get their word out and they are mocking them. Of course, I also understand how hard it is to come forth with these things and I don’t know how many we will see have the courage to come out like I just did here.

But let me tell you there are consequences, for the victim and for their loved ones, and it hurts me greatly to see the SMUCK coming out of some of our conservative leaders right now.

I HATE listening to them verbally hurt people who HAVE ALREADY BEEN HURT.

I don’t care if she got $35,000 or $3,500,000.000. NOTHING makes up for the scaring one has to live with for the rest of their lives, and the rest of their family member’s lives too. NOTHING.

And conservatives stand up and applaud this man who has taken the lives of others into his own hands and have made a mess of their lives.

I am cc ing another poster named Chasaway who has just mentioned this to me, the horrible words and actions we are now seeing from conservatives.

What Chasaway mentioned was the hypocrisy of the political scene - that it is OK to go after John Edwards but not after Herman Cain.

Oh, I have felt that too.

But I have felt something FAR more personal.

My own fellow conservatives are telling me that my daughter and my family, and all other victims like us, are not worthy of caring for, not worthy of standing up for; and ripe for abuse for the REST of our lives now.

I wonder how many more young ladies, old ladies, and family members have felt left out by our conservative media and pundits these days. I wonder how many more have cried all throughout this week as we have been mocked and degraded when it was US to were at the mercy of HORRIBLE people who did something HORRIBLE to another person.

And if someone wants to focus on what was done exactly and what was not, that is at least somewhat understandable at this point. Even I am willing to wait to see the facts that come out as they are in bits and pieces.

But to mock this and belittle this and keep VICIOUSLY supporting this horrible man who AT THE VERY LEAST HAS LIED AND COVERED UP ACTUAL EVENTS (ie actually-occurring business complaints and actual cash settlements), makes those of us who know real pain feel more pain than anyone can imagine.

And to think... that pain now has to come from our conservative leaders.

Those who do that..... Well..... NONE of you people deserve to have children who look you in the eye and say “Mom... Dad.... I’m scared to tell you but.... “

Wait a minute. These women didn’t come forward themselves.

The assertion that Cain committed sexual harassment and settled out of court with two women was made to Politico by a former board member of the NRA. These women are not at fault for leaking the story. It doesn’t appear they did anything for personal gain at this point.

They came forward at the time of the alleged incidents, filed complaints against Cain, and settled out of court. That they are anonymous right now is due to the legal requirements of the settlement. We have yet to see if they will be allowed to come forward.

Your entire post is cherry picking information and twisting it to fit a fabricated story.

I’ve seen situations where an “innocent” young girl got all sorts of sympathy from parents, friends, etc. only to be exposed as a complete fraud.

Doesn’t mean that’s what is happening here, but we don’t have enough information to form an opinion here. Not me. Not you.

It wasn't acceptable for Bill Clinton, yet it's okay for Cain because he's on our side?

Bill Clinton, in the Oval Office no less, took down his pants, inserted his erect penis into the mouth of a 21-year-old girl, and ejaculated his semen down her throat.

What specifically has Cain been proven to have done?
