Okay everyone...approaching 2:00pm Eastern...ready for the "Big EAS Test"?

Yeah, for all the sarcasm methinks this is a good thing: nothing wrong with a government being able to notify the populace of an emergency, nor running a test to discover weak spots (which there WILL be in a large untested system).
To counter the hysterical: the Constitution provides for Congress specifying the means for the President to call out the militia to defend the region/state/nation; this national alert system is a satisfactory means of doing so. That it extends reasonably to the unorganized militia (and beyond) and reasonably beyond political enemies to natural & artificial disasters is not a Constitutional crisis.
I was on Dish Network watching a local station and the video portion came with NO sound.
3 minutes later the [very strange] audio happened.
Does this mean it works?
One of the comments: “If you read between the lines, dude is saying ‘Hey everyone. Civilization has been cancelled. Eat your neighbors. Good luck.’”
If that’s the case, “Emperor” Barry the Boob would have been VERY disappointed. Half his “subjects” wouldn’t have known what happened.
Watch for edicts to come from the FCC...something to the effect of “FIX THIS NOW!”.
I didn’t hear it I had no computer up,no TV at 2 but I have a weather radio and it did not test and it always does every Wed.

I haven’t checked my cell phone but it shut down my Tivo....

Well, the Obama imposed a tax on Christmas trees. Does that count toward completing the plan?

Apparently its a SoCal issue. I am on the phone with them now, said they should have things fixed by 12pm pacific time..this damn EAS messed up my darn digital cable!
