our craving for someone who has this ability in light of the inarticulate Bush-McCain years
Yes!

That's what the Newt-bashers here in FR don't get when they cut'n'paste all kinds of internet sh*t about his past.

I DON'T CARE.

I want to see Newt shred Obama, and then go on to shred the media.

I want to see it.

I'll pay to see it.

I will pay a LOT to see it.

Perry can't do it.

Cain can't do it.

Bachmann can't do it.

Romney can't do it.

Paul can't do it.

Huntsman can't do it.

Santorum can't do it.

Only Newt can do it.

It needs to be done. We NEED it to be done.

Get real. You know why some people don’t want Newt. He has sold them out before and we don’t want to lose our country.

We are also tired of pretty speeches when they don’t mean a word of it.

Newt certainly has his baggage and the problems with that will surely be spotlighted if his rise continues, which I think highly likely.

You bring up a great point - namely that Newt is extremely articulate and knowledgeable and is able to express himself in a cogent manner. I wish I could say that about the others but I simply can’t. Perry doomed himself at the debates - if you can’t hack it in friendly, he sure as heck couldn’t handle one against Obama. As for Cain, I really like him but his lack of prep on some pretty basic questions doesn’t bode well. Apart from Romney, who we all agree we don’t want, who else do you really think could rhetorically gut Obama?

Fight the good fight, but in the end I think it will come down to Newt and Romney for the nomination.

I thought “likability” is the most important attribute to win national elections.

Obama in 2008 had it more than McCain the maverick.

GWB had it, Gore not so much, and Kerry even less.

Clinton had it, more than GHWB anyways.

Reagan had it by the buckets.

I agree. I want Obama humiliated, groveling, and curled up in a fetal position. I want him to be revealed as the fraud and imposter that he is and I want it done in front of everyone on national t.v. I want Mr. Fifty-seven States to become an object of ridicule. Only Gingrich can do that. It would be fun to watch.

I too would love to see Newt “shred” Obama, but that won’t get him the nomination.

I have donated to Newt. I like Newt. I just don’t think Newt can win the nomination let alone the Presidency.

Newt has one fatal flaw: he is an intellectual and intellectuals are simply not very inspiring or likable.

I don’t get the “Newt is a RINO” talk. He is not a RINO, he led the Republicans back to the majority in the House after 40+ years. He is a DC insider and a serial adulterer, and that will hurt him with some segments of the population, but his “likability” factor is what will hurt him with most.

So while I am all in if Newt gets the nod, I will be shocked if he pulls out the upset in Iowa, New Hampshire or South Carolina.

It needs to be done. We NEED it to be done.

Like some tin pot dictator Obama will find a way not to debate and the press will call it courage.
