Judith Anne was admitted to the hospital the day after Christmas having suffered a serious stroke....
Just read your update and I will continue to hold you in prayer as your adjust to your loss. Take joy knowing she is in a far greater place with your Dad by her side, sharing in the presence of our Lord.

I ache in looking over the posts, realizing how my words were misunderstood, and as such caused confusion-
In the update I had said that her body remains with us, but her soul has gone to heaven-
Her body continues to breath, however the CT and EEG have confirmed the encompassing damage. At present, the only portion functioning is the brain stem (which controls the basic life functions of breathing, heart beating)- we remain by the side of her bed, and will stay until the last breath is finished.
How does a person say sorry for a misunderstanding such as this? lack of sleep, lack of focus, the desire to keep friends informed and failing to convey a message the way intended - i dearly apologize!
I am so very sorry. I will miss her. I do already. Glad she is with her husband once more. What an anniversary present for him.

(Part of what I requested be read at my mother's funeral. Four years ago, at Christmas, she was a few weeks from dying, and none of us realized quite how little time she had left. Nor, sadly, do I think she was really ready for it.)

Your mother had a very strong faith in Jesus Christ and please know “He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ” ( Philippians 1:6)
She is safe in the arms of her Saviour, Jesus Christ.
I will miss having an ally on the religious threads. You mom sent me a private mail on 11/27 stating she was staying off them for Advent as she thought they were getting “too hateful”. It’s a pity she was not able to read the posts in this thread, as they have moved me to tears and i think they would have moved her as well. Beautiful comments and prayers were offered not only from her fellow “papists”, but also from non-Catholic Christians who as one poster put it, had “spirited debates” with her over the years. I think it’s a great tribute to your mom and her strong faith that she was able to bring us all together.
Reading the comments from posters from various faith backgrounds has brought home the point to me that if we are going to spend eternity in heaven, maybe we should show more Christian love to one another here on earth.

All that you should hear is love, for you, your mother and Our Lord. Love matters. It is the Great Command.
you do not need to say sorry. you are under stress, tired. prayers are as much for you and your family in this time of strees as for your Mom. In fact more for you as Judith Anne is under God’s care.
I’m really sorry about your Mom. May you be comforted with the fact that God is holding her in his loving arms. The strength of faith you have shown in this difficult time is beautiful.
I am so sorry about Judith Anne. May you feel God’s loving embrace as you and your family deal with this situation, and grieve this loss. Those here at FR who knew her well are in my thoughts and prayers as well. We will definitely all miss her presence.

Your Mom is resting, at peace. Soon she will be actively rejoicing in the presence of our Lord. Forevermore.
I could try and comfort you, but there is no comfort. I will not lie to you, this is a very difficult time. It is also a time filled with wonder and beauty. Because from now on your Mom will live in two places, in the Presence of Our Lord and at the same time in your heart.
Every time you remember her words of wisdom she lives in your heart. Every time you act in accordance to the values she taught you, she lives in your heart.
What you posted above proves God’s Perfect Love for Judith Anne. As you described the effects of the series of strokes, you showed God’s Hand, one by one shutting down her awareness on this side so that her Graduation from time into Eternity is free from any pain or discomfort. Be assured, God will also find a way to comfort your heart and bring Peace to you.
