“Blue Mountain Libya, complained to its parent company this past summer that the resources they were being given weren’t enough. State was asked to intervene in the dispute between the two — but chose to do nothing. So it came to be that the U.S. ambassador ended up on 9/11 at a consulate that was vulnerable even according to its own security detail, and which State had had ample opportunity to fortify. Meanwhile, on the same day, the U.S. embassy in Barbados enjoyed protection from a detail of Marines. “Smart power,” 2012.”

Brotherhood Not Extremist, Intel Leaders Say

February 16, 2011

Director of National Intelligence JAMES CLAPPER emphasized the heterogeneous nature of the Brotherhood, saying its ideology and approach varies from country to country and describing a generational gap between old-line conservatives and younger members more willing to participate in secular political systems.

“This is not a monolithic organization,” CIA Director LEON PANETTA told the Senate Intelligence Committee. It has lawyers and professionals among its ranks, so while “it is clear that within the Muslim Brotherhood there are extremist elements,” it’s difficult to label the organization as a whole.

In that same House Intelligence Committee hearing, FBI Director ROBERT MUELLER was less forgiving. “Obviously, elements of the Muslim Brotherhood here and overseas have supported terrorism,” he said.

The Muslim Brotherhood’s American Defenders

That these front groups, including the unindicted terror funding co-conspirators, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), play a key role in shaping the Obama administration’s agenda is beyond dispute. Senior administration officials including Mogahed have close ties to these groups. There is an ample body of evidence that suggests that the administration’s decision to side with the hostile Muslim Brotherhood against its allies owes to a significant degree to the influence these Muslim Brotherhood front groups and their operatives wield in the Obama administration.

To take just one example, last October the Obama administration agreed to purge training materials used by US intelligence and law enforcement agencies and eliminate all materials that contained references to Islam that US Muslim groups associated with the Muslim Brotherhood had claimed were offensive.

The administration has also FIRED counterterrorism trainers and lecturers employed by US security agencies and defense academies that taught their pupils about the doctrines of jihadist Islam.

The administration also APPOINTED representatives of Muslim Brotherhood-aligned US Muslim groups to oversee the approval of training materials about Islam for US federal agencies.

Minutes earlier, Clapper acknowledged that the Brotherhood “probably is supportive” of weapons smuggling to Hamas terrorists in Gaza. He could not say what the Muslim Brotherhood would do regarding Egypt’s 32-year-old peace treaty with Israel.

Clapper used part of his opening remarks to clarify comments he made about the Brotherhood before a House committee hearing last week. In response to a question at that hearing, he called the Brotherhood “a very heterogeneous group, largely secular, which has eschewed violence.”

Clapper’s comments triggered disbelief among many in Washington last week, with Rep. Sue Myrick, R-N.C., saying the administration either didn’t know much about the Brotherhood “or they are apologizing for them, which is inappropriate for those in charge of protecting the American people. Let’s be clear – the Muslim Brotherhood is NOT secular.”

In that same House Intelligence Committee hearing, FBI Director Robert Mueller was less forgiving. “Obviously, elements of the Muslim Brotherhood here and overseas have supported terrorism,” he said.

Clapper acknowledged using a “less than precise turn of phrase,” and said the Brotherhood is not secular, but in Egypt works within a largely secular political system. Its support, he said, is based on grass roots outreach and social services such as health clinics. It “likely will be a part of the political process in Egypt,” he said.

A Brotherhood representative is on an eight-member committee charged with recommending changes to Egypt’s suspended constitution by the end of next week. The existing constitution bars religious groups from forming political parties, but the Brotherhood’s presence on the committee, along with its stated intention to form a party to run candidates for parliament, indicate that limitation is not likely to endure.

As we reported last week, Article 2 of the Brotherhood’s bylaws call for it “to establish Allah’s law in the land by achieving the spiritual goals of Islam and the true religion.” That includes “the need to work on establishing the Islamic State, which seeks to effectively implement the provisions of Islam and its teachings.”

General Guide Muhammad Badi emphasized that point in a sermon given last September, saying the Quran should be the law of Egypt and that Muslims are duty-bound to bring that about....

Washington’s war in Yemen Backfires:

Video obtained from al-Qaeda-linked militants shows the Ansar al-Sharia group in Yemen parading weapons and ammunition obtained after an attack on the town of Zinjbar on Sunday (March 4). The assault killed 110 people and led to the capture of at least 50 government soldiers:

The Muslim Brotherhood are working and advising from inside the Obama Administration according to Michelle Bachmann. The trust they have given the MB can be demonstrated by the verbal response, and policies and procedures employed by those who are supposed to protect us.

Leon Panetta, James Clapper, (Obama, Hillary Clinton, John Brennan..see link above) have similar views of the Muslim Brotherhood while Robert Mueller is in agreement with Michelle Bachmann as he bluntly states the MB support terrorism. It doesn’t take a genius to understand why the FBI were delayed in getting to the scene - trumped up “visa problem” issues.

It was clear that Ms Lamb was following her boss’ policies and procedures outlined by the State Department. She stated they replaced marines with trained local “brigades” to guard the US Mission. If she/they were comfortable insodoing why did she/they want to hide the Brigades proper name? She mentioned the 17 February Martyrs Brigade as...17Feb or 17Feb Brigade...omitting their proper name, the 17 February Martyrs Brigade. Why omit the word Martyr? (the same was done at the government conference with the MSM - read the transcript), the NY Times hence the rest of the media continue to omit that important word. But reports have shown that Al Sharia works hand and hand with Feb 17 Martyrs Brigade - the brigade in charge of guarding the Consul.

Lamb also said at the hearing that these trained locals who replaced the marines were used because it had a pattern of success which begs the question where has their policies succeeded? An example - Yemen - the CSU (trained and armed by the state dept) ran when Al Sharia attacked their base leaving the terrorists to seize anti-air missiles, modern weaponry, trucks...see video above. It resulted in 110 killed and 50 taken hostage.

What is the vetting criteria used when hiring locals for Security?

Who oversees the policy to ensure it’s a working policy and they do see failures what is the back-up plan?

What is their measure for success?

The seizing of modern sophisticated weapons, tanks, trucks etc., from Z in Tehran by Al Sharia have demonstrated not only a massive failure on our side, but would give anyone pause that the Jihadi Salafists now have the weaponry to attack wherever and whenever they wanted. That alone should have been enough

The successes I’ve seen are on the side of the Muslim Brotherhood. Makes one wonder who Obama et al are really working for...

Libyan prison break: 120 prisoners escape Tripoli jail

Libyan prison break: Security guards at a jail in Tripoli, Libya, are suspected of having taken bribes to free the prisoners.

Libya’s Supreme Security Committee says 120 prisoners have escaped from jail in the capital city of Tripoli, where security guards are suspected of having accepted bribes to free them.

Spokesman Abdel-Moneim al-Hurr says only two of the 120 have been arrested since their escape Monday. It is the second jailbreak in Tripoli this year.

Prisoners say that since Libya’s uprising, some have been languishing in prisons without charge. They also say the courts have not moved to hear their cases.

Al-Hurr says no security guards were injured during the escape, leading him to suspect the guards may have received bribes to release the detainees.

The North African country has been reeling from a security breakdown and a weakened judiciary following last year’s eight-month civil war.

How the Arab Spring’s prisoner releases have helped the jihadi cause

This latter fact makes Jamal part of a trend that has gone largely unremarked upon in the public sphere since the beginning of the “Arab Spring” uprisings: prisons in affected countries have been emptied, inmates scattering after being released or breaking free. In many cases, it is a good thing that prisoners have gone free: the Arab dictatorships were notorious for unjustly incarcerating political prisoners, and abusing them in captivity. But jihadists have also been part of this wave of releases, and we are now beginning to see the fruits of the talent pool that is back on the streets. …

The potential for danger was actually apparent very early in the events of the Arab Spring. In January 2011, even before Egypt’s Hosni Mubarak was toppled from power, it was widely reported that thousands of prisoners had escaped from Egyptian jails, including militants. A lengthy hagiographical account of how “the mujahedin” had escaped from the Abu Za’bal prison soon appeared on the Ansar al Mujahedin Network, a jihadist web forum. …

Nor were jail breaks and prisoner releases limited to Egypt. They have also helped to change the shape of both jihadist and also more moderate Islamist currents in Tunisia, Libya, and also Yemen. Underscoring this, a September article from jihadist intellectual Abu Sa’d al Amili directed toward members of an al Qaeda front group in Yemen extols the virtues of imprisonment. “Prison might be a period of education or further strengthening for the prisoner,” he wrote. “God the Almighty is preparing the prisoner for great events and heavy responsibilities that he could not have borne before his imprisonment or if he had remained free.”

It’s looking like obama is actually going to try and pull off a hit. Suddenly, this guy is in all the news out of literally nowhere.
If he does this and Khattalah is a zawahiri protege, all hell will break loose across North Africa where we just happened to send American Troops.

BENGHAZI, Libya—The founder of Libya’s Islamist militia Ansar al-Sharia was at the U.S. consulate compound during the deadly attack here, Libyan officials say, but he remains free a week after those allegations were disclosed to Libyan political leaders and U.S. investigators.

Ahmed Abu Khattalah—who current Libyan officials and former Islamic militants describe as propagating an al Qaeda-style ideology—was seen during the Sept. 11 attack at the diplomatic mission where two of the four Americans died, said two senior Libyan security officials familiar with the investigation.

Here is a message that arrived about an hour ago; rumor, no confirmation at this time:

"Zero's “October surprise”, and what we are hearing talked about, is the same bombing attempt to prop Zero.

"There is a carrier heading in Libya’s direction. The planes would have the range to bomb or air-support very soon. It’s about 2-3 days away and the carrier is under “blackout or no communication with/from crew.”

Let Obama pull his foolishness. He will be putting US soldiers at risk in order to boost his campaign. This cannot bring him any more votes , but could actually cause him to lose them.

(Excerpted)

Did Obama Stage Benghazi Attack?

According to xxx, Barack Obama, wanting an “October Surprise,” had secretly arranged with the Muslim Brotherhood for a kidnapping of our ambassador. Then sometime in October before the election Obama was to orchestrate some great military action to rescue Ambassador Stevens, causing all of America to cheer Obama’s strong foreign policy and bravery and making him look like a hero./i>

After all, his supposed killing of Osama Bin Laden bounce had long since faded.

Thus, sweeping him to victory in November. Imagine the headlines and talking points. The election would be a lock. The Muslim Brotherhood has every reason to want Obama re-elected in November and have an American President sympathetic to their causes. Not to mention an administration filled with Muslim appeasers. Therefore, they agreed to aid in these theatrics.

Unfortunately for Ambassador Stevens and three others, the Brotherhood could not control the hired thugs that were to perform the kidnapping and things escalated and four American lives were lost. Panic set in at the White House and with little time to place blame as far away from Obama as they could, they settled on a ridiculous fairy tale about an irrelevant video posted four months prior on YouTube and ran with it. Barack Obama even ran with it after evidence showed he knew better and ran with it all the way to his speech at the U.N.

So now, they are admitting it was a terrorist attack. They are admitting that the State Department had denied requests for more security from Washington, but nobody told them. Blame anyone but Barack Obama. I’m betting the White House is smirking and perfectly happy to be accused of having a breakdown in communication as opposed to the alternative.

Ms. Clinton Goes to War?

Wednesday, October 17, 2012 – by Staff Report

Hillary Clinton

U.S. to Help Create an Elite Libyan Force to Combat Islamic Extremists ... The Pentagon and State Department are speeding up efforts to help the Libyan government create a commando force to combat Islamic extremists like the ones who killed the American ambassador in Libya last month and to help counter the country’s fractious militias, according to internal government documents. – NY Times

Dominant Social Theme: These are necessary efforts in an unsafe world.

Free-Market News: It seems like Hillary Clinton’s very own terrorist strike force is about to become a reality. We first wrote about this back in May. You can see the article here: “As Commandos Raid Tampa US State Department Demands Power to Declare War.”

Ms. Clinton was attending a Tampa-based conference, “Building the Global SOF Partnership,” with representatives from some 90 nations. During the conference military from these countries participated in a drill that aimed to “rescue” Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn, supposedly kidnapped by terrorists.

The drill received a lot of attention in the alternative media but we found what Hillary Clinton was quoted as saying to be even more interesting.

We wrote at the time that the Secretary of State seemed to imply in certain remarks that the State Department now possessed the authority to declare a limited state of war via an expanding liaison with US Special Operations Forces. We quoted her directly:

... We created a new Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations that is working to put into practice lessons learned over the past decade and institutionalize a civilian surge capacity to deal with crises and hotspots.

Experts from this new bureau are working closely with Special Operations Forces around the world ... Our diplomats also saw that the UN staff in the region could be useful partners. So they worked through our team in Washington and New York to obtain new authorities for the UN officials on the ground and then link them up directly with our Special Operations Forces to share expertise and improve coordination ...

We have to keep our international cooperation going and growing at every level. Next week I’ll be heading to Europe, and I’ll end up in Istanbul for the second meeting of the new Global Counterterrorism Forum, which we helped launch last year. Turkey and the United States serve as the founding co-chairs, and we’ve been joined by nearly 30 other nations.

At the time, we asked, “Who has given Ms. Clinton the brief to do such things? ... Constitutionally, only the US Congress has the right to commit US troops to war.”

We certainly didn’t expect an answer but now we may have received one with the sudden creation of an “elite Libyan Force.” Here’s some more:

The Obama administration quietly won Congress’s approval last month to shift about $8 million from Pentagon operations and counterterrorism aid budgeted for Pakistan to begin building an elite Libyan force over the next year that could ultimately number about 500 troops. American Special Operations forces could conduct much of the training, as they have with counterterrorism forces in Pakistan and Yemen, American officials said.

The effort to establish the new unit was already under way before the assault that killed Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans at the United States Mission in Benghazi, Libya.

According to an unclassified internal State Department memo sent to Congress on Sept. 4, the plan’s goal is to enhance “Libya’s ability to combat and defend against threats from Al Qaeda and its affiliates.” A companion Pentagon document envisions that the Libyan commando force will “counter and defeat terrorist and violent extremist organizations.” Right now, Libya has no such capability, American officials said ...

The proposed Libyan commando force springs from an unusual partnership between the State Department and the Pentagon. Just last year, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and the defense secretary at the time, Robert M. Gates, agreed to pool resources from their departments in a fund approved by Congress to respond more quickly to emerging threats from Al Qaeda and other militants in places like Libya, Nigeria and Bangladesh.

You see? The big news here, just as we speculated five months ago, is that the US State Department is now directly involved. Rather than becoming less of a colonialist presence in the world, US officials seem to be moving rapidly in the other direction.

Conclusion: American citizens may not support such expansions but officials like Clinton obviously do. And they’re not asking permission.

Looks like Hillery wasn’t kidding

Thanks for this and the other Pings. This thing is just getting started. Funny thing, the truth. It has a tendency to want to come out. As I've said in the past, all that's needed is for a few key blocks to be removed and the Ojenga tower of lies will fall, and spectacularly.

Candy Crowley, by virtue of her partisan antics at the last debate, has ensured that the subject will continue to be discussed. Benghazigate may prove to be the removed pebble that starts the landslide.

hillary clinton is as frightening as obama, (naybe moreso,) and always has been. She is evil wrapped in evil married to evil...a committed socialist/radical almost all her life.
A long time ago I brought up the fact that she spends, and has spent since her teen years, an inordinate amount of time in South America, and as a young girl, with Force 13 making trips to Cuba. No one ever questions her on these frequent trips. What is in South America that she keeps going there for?

Feinstein: Intelligence Mistake, Inadequate Security To Blame For Libyan Terror Attack
CBS San Francisco ^ | Oct. 17, 2012

Posted on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 11:19:31 PM by Free ThinkerNY

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5) — The head of the U.S. Senate’s Intelligence Committee said Wednesday that it appeared an intelligence mistake along with inadequate security were to blame for the Sept. 11 terrorist attack on the American Embassy in Benghazi, Libya that claimed the lives of Ambassador Chris Stevens, a Bay Area native, and three others.

“I can tell you this, I think we do know what happened now. There’s no question but that it was a terrorist attack, there is no question but that the security was inadequate and I think that there is no question that we need to work on our intelligence,” said Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) during an exclusive interview with CBS 5.

Feinstein’s comments came one day after a spirited back-and-forth exchange between President Barack Obama and challenger Mitt Romney in their second debate over the assault on the consulate. Romney claimed the attack was a symptom of weakness in Obama’s foreign policy.
