“Romney IS Obama, why can’t you people see that?”

Well, one reason is that Romney simply is not Obama. We need to start from a position of at least the most basic reality.

Nor is Romney remotely like Obama in his STATED positions. I don’t think that can be argued with. The issue is a distrust of Romney because as governor of Massachussetts Romney absolutely did liberal things.

I definitely will agree that Rick Santorum and Rick Perry are more sincere conservatives. Especially Santorum.

If the Republican Party nominates Romney, it is the Republican Party that Obama will owe thanks to.

By voting for a Romney, assuming he wins the primary, you are ensuring 8 more years of progressivism.

At least with Obammy we have another shot in 4 years.

“If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures.”

Amen. I pray Santorum can continue to surge and win...if not, then Perry or Newt.

And that’s exactly why the msm is promoting Romney.

And paying so much attention to anyone (Gary Johnson, Ron Paul) who even hints at running 3rd party.

I can understand voting for Romney when the time comes, but don't tell them you will beforehand. That just makes them keep pushing rinos at us.

As a Christian, Romney is not my first choice. But by declaring you won’t vote for Romney or the republican nominee who may not share your religious views, no matter who it is, you are voting for more O’bolshevik. If that is what you want, say so.

But face up to the political reality: elections have consequences. The key is to elect as many true conservatives to Congress, so that the president can be overridden if he makes bad choices.

If O’bambi is returned to office, no more bitchin’; just look in the mirror for the right person to blame. The fact is that any republican president with a conservative Congress will be a vast improvement over this train-wreck poseur that is currently occupying the White House.

The difference between going over a cliff at 100 MPH and 75 MPH is statistically insignificant. You are still mangled beyond recognition. THAT will be America under either 0bambney or Romnama.

Peas in a Pod

In short, Governor Romney sees us as children who need to be policed in a thorough-going way for our own good. His objections to Obamacare are those of a social engineer. This is the real Romney. The fellow now calling for the wholesale repeal of Obamacare is, as I have argued at length in an earlier post, a chameleon. He will do what he needs to do to attract our votes, or, at least, in his awkward, inept way, he will try. And in this one particular he may feel bound to keep his promise. But once in office – like Eisenhower, Nixon, Bush One, and Bush Two – he will drift into extending the power and scope of the administrative entitlements state. In most regards, he will consolidate what Barack Obama has initiated.

Obama already has turned hard left and is now forming a racially divisive coalition to either win reelection, or else Obama is dismantling the private economy and our defenses so that if he loses the maximum liberal damage is done.

Obama is a leftist nightmare and if he is reelected under these circumstances, we will be in trouble like we never have imagined.

Loss of the Supreme Court, political use of the US Attorneys, radical regimes throughout the Middle East and the loss of Israel, Obamacare, national bankruptcy, wild inflation, huge permanent underclass, disarmament, institutionalized Chicago corruption.

Otherwise, it won’t be so bad.

You are right on—and at least Romney as president (of course I too hope he doesn't get the GOP nomination), a man who will do and say anything to get elected will behave himself until his second term allows him to do as he truly wishes—by then an overwhelming majority of Tea Party conservatives will own Capital Hill and block his real socialist nature.

Hello, my name is Scarlett and I admit that I will no longer hold my nose and vote for RINO progressives.

Even if it means Obama wins, at least will have some gridlock. If Romney becomes the nominee and actually wins (something I seriously doubt) we will have greased the skids for the RINO Progressives to continue their beltway corruption while making Republicans responsible for the crash and depression that is sure to follow.

Either we nominate and elect a conservative who will actually change the direction of this country or we leave the Dems to own the destruction their ideology will bring.
