Todd Palin Endorses Newt Gingrich
ABC News ^ | Jan 9, 2012 | ABC News’ Santina Leuci and Z. Byron Wolf reporting

Sarah Palin’s husband is endorsing Newt Gingrich for president, Todd Palin told ABC News today.

But Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor and John McCain’s 2008 Republican running mate, has yet to decide “who is best able to go up against Barack Obama,” Todd Palin said.

Palin said he has not spoken to Gingrich or anyone from the former House speaker’s campaign. But he said he respects Gingrich for what he went through in the 1990s and compared that scrutiny in public life to what Sarah Palin went through during her run for the vice presidency.

I don’t think she’s going to endorse any candidate....which is why Todd did so.

She’s already playing the “hasn’t made up her mind” dance again. When I definately think she knows exactly who she’s going to vote for.

“Todd Palin is a strong conservative and is a well-spoken man unlike the rambling typing of Da Coyote.”

Da coyote has got da ray-beez.

I agree. I think the headline is misleading.

Was that a general observation, or were you referring to me for some reason?

Todd Palin is in good company -- Thomas Sowell likes Newt, too.

Me three.

They are Catholics.

Evangelicals are a category of their own, as are Catholics.

Value judgement comments such as can’t Catholics be evangelical merely confuse.

However a Catholic conducts himself or herself, he or she is still a Catholic.

Evangelicals are a seperate, recognized category.

They don’t believe in the Pope and other aspects of Catholicism.

And Catholics do not accept some of the basic tenets of Evangelicals.

This isn’t hair splitting. It’s the real world...the religious world, that is.

Mildly interesting and more odd.

I saw from some posters that Todd did not actually endorse Gingrich but gave him some props for coming back from being way down in the minds of Americans, which he seemed to relate to.

It’s counterproductive for anyone who wants a future in politics to endorse right now as we have three conservatives in the race and after all the ups and downs, no one can be totally sure who will remain standing.

Don’t want to burn those bridges.

I also want to say that I believe Newt is the only one who can stop Mitt. I believe Sarah will or has come to the same conclusion. I would not be surprised if she makes an announcement after the New Hampshire primary and before South Carolina. South Carolina is becoming critical if we are going to stop Mitt. GO MITT!

And, if as posted upthread, Newt called Rush and said Todd was “endorsing” him and that is not the case (i.e., Newt also read too much into Todd’s comments), then that’ll get interesting.

But, regardless.

Wow. Your post revealed a whole HECK of a lot more about your intelligence than it did about Todd Palin’s!

Dittos.

Been around here long enough to remember when the vast majority of Freepers understood that all politicians make bad decisions, and Newt is no different.

As for Todd, I like him, and he does sleep with the woman who’s makes the world pay attention when she speaks.

That makes me interested in what he says about politics. So when he says he likes Newt, my ears perk up.

Lol, they deep sixed the other thread. I tried to post this to you, but they pulled it as a duplicate. Here's my post:

I'm guessing she likes Newt as well, is hoping he will catch fire, but wants to see if one of the other two might catch fire just before or after the South Carolina primary before she endorses.

Heck, I'm in that place myself. I'm pulling for Newt, but would accept whichever of the three conservatives catches fire, and am going to support that person (financially) I see catching fire just before or after South Carolina.

I do hope one of them climbs to the top of the polls, while the other two drop out. I am still hoping for, in this order:

1. Newt
2. Perry
3. Santorum

It is my thought that he is registered as an independent. Good for him. IMO, neither he nor his spouse owe the pubbies anything.

Ping. I’m not sure if this helps, but it sure can’t hurt. Especially in SC.
