Cheney: Obama 'Decimating Our Military Capacity'
Weekly Standard ^ | 1/13/12 | Daniel Halper

"I think, in fact, what President Obama is doing is something that America's enemies--the Taliban, al Qaeda--have been unable to do, which is to decimate the fighting capability of this nation," Cheney said. "And when you look at his rhetoric, he talks about the need now that hostilities are over to cut our spending, as though we're no longer at war. He's acting as though this is a time for a peace dividend when we're not, you know, truly at peace. And I think it's irresponsible, and I think it will be very, very

The plan of al Qaeda and Bin Laden from the start was to lure the US into endless conflict in the Muslim world to drain our national blood and treasure. Mr Cheney and his boss fell into al Qaeda’s trap in a disasterous way in Iraq. Now Mr. Cheney tries to put all the blame on President Obama. Of course entitlements need to be controlled and Mr. Obama is greatly incompetent, but I don’t think Mr. Cheney with the history of his administstraion’s awful blunder is the most fitting spokesman to bemoan a situation his administration’s blunder greatly helped to put us in.

Once again, Dick Cheney is right. I’ve been sick about this ever since Obozo announced it. From Beijing to the mountains of Eastern Afghanistan to Tehren, our enemies are smiling.

After actually looking at the link, I see that it’s LIZ Cheney, not her dad. But the point is the same, after the Iraqi fiasco it was inevitable that there would be severe fiscal pressures on the defense budget no matter who is in charge. Whether it’s entitlements or world empire, big government is going to feel the pinch.

Just to clarify, that is Liz Cheney being quoted and I agree with her every word and thought on this.

First they said military Chaplains could not use the name of Jesus. Then he homofied the military. Now he is cutting it back to 1970’s post-Vietnam empty forces military standards. In this world, we will simply not be able to defend ourselves much less take care of obligations to see that this nation says safe and free. Yes, dumb socilaists, that means the oil fields. After he cuts the land forces, we will not be able to send troops to these places and defend. Korea has a division over there. He cuts that and South Korea is on its own. Cutting troops puts troops lives in danger because they do not have enough people to do the job.

It’s pretty clear Obama is on the Jihadists’ side. This man is destroying this country and leaving us completely vulnerable - right before our very eyes. And all anyone cares about is who’s dancing with the stars this week.

What Obama is overlooking is the fact that the very military he is gutting, by design, is also shoring up the armed citizens of the US...and there are millions of us.

Exactly. It doesn't matter who incited us into the war, we simply could not afford it. We must learn to fight asymmetrical warfare on the cheap.

A war is endless only if you do not put an end to it. By not installing an Iraqi government and giving it control of the Iraqi Army in the summer of ’03, we put ourselves in the impossible position of acting like a colonial power. We knew what that happened in the Phillipines after 1898.

I have a Paulbott on facebook and he wrote the following about Cheney. I'm not sure what he is talking about can anyone explain.

I think Cheney is a traitor. Cheney served on the the board of advisors for JINSA, which right there shoudl disqualify anyone from serving in American government.
