Era of Voting for RINOs is Declared Over
Veritas2002 | 01-26-12 | Vanity

Posted on 01/26/2012 11:19:20 AM PST by veritas2002

This morning I authored a Vanity Post declaring that under no circumstance would I vote for Romney.

Even though I am a lifelong Republican and have NEVER voted for a Democrat in my 60+ years, I am finished with the biased liberal media (including Fox) and the Republican establishment selecting my (losing) candidate. Here are some of my reasons:

In 1976, a sitting MODERATE Republican president named Gerald R. Ford ran against a two-bit peanut farming liberal Georgia governor and LOST.

1n 1992, a sitting MODERATE Republican president named George Bush ran against a liberal Arkansas governor with a history of raping and abusing women and LOST.

In 1996 a sitting MODERATE US Republican senator named Robert Dole ran against a sitting liberal president named William (stained blue dress) Clinton who was later impeached and disbarred and LOST.

In 2008, a long-term sitting MODERATE US Republican senator named John McCain ran against a do-nothing jerk US Senator from Illinois whose sole qualifying credential was as a community organizer for ACORN and student of Saul Alinsky and LOST.

And now in 2012, the Republican Party insiders, along with the liberal press are trying to once again pick our candidate - a MODERATE Massachusetts Governor who introduced socialized medicine to his State and guess what my friends...

America will be destroyed if Obama wins again.

If Mitt wins he will govern as a near-far-left-of-center President. He will do NOTHING to reduce the scope and power of government. He will have accomplished nothing that would make people want him re-elected.

Then, in 2017 another Marxist will likely take power and "America will be destroyed"

Voting for Mitt will only delay our destruction, not prevent it. Nothing on this Earth will get me to vote for Mitt.

a non-vote is a vote for Obama.

If Willard gets the nomination i’ll vote for Obama over Willard. At least i know where Obama is coming from.

Let the new world order begin! I think about going on Welfare so I can get me some a peice of that pie. While it last.
Maybe sell a little crack on the side?

Your dead on.

No way were people going to vote for Ford after he pardoned Nixon. The country lost its collective mind after that.

Perot screwed that election up and the numbers back that up.

The economy was humming along during Dole’s stint as the sacrificial lamb. I really thought he’d win though as I figured America had learned what a scumbag Clinton was. Was I ever wrong.

I agree 100% (I actually went off on a rant about it http://libertarian-neocon.blogspot.com/2011/12/why-i-wont-vote-for-mitt-romney-if-he.html). I am a lifelong Republican as well and after Reagan in my formative years the GOP has done nothing but nominate RINO losers ever since. Quality candidates like Phil Gramm, Steve Forbes and Jack Kemp were thrown to away so we could get the Bushes and Dole. And let’s not even talk about McCain.

I’m absolutely sick to my stomach at the thought of Romney as the nominee and as President. He is completely dishonest and doesnt believe in anything. When I watch Newt, I often get the feeling that he could actually make this country great again. When I look at Romney, he clearly is going to do nothing to make our long term situation better. In fact, like all the other RINO’s that have been elected, he will make it worse.

Souter was a big boo-boo, no doubt. His biggest mistake, in my opinion.

The “no new taxes” thing is a side show.

In 1980, it wasn’t a 3rd party Republican, it was a 3rd party Democrat, Scoop Jackson.

Clinton was lock in ‘96 because Newt and company overplayed their hand, and it’s a pity they did. I appreciate the things Newt did, but he had the country on the right track and then blew it, putting Clinton back on offense when they had him on the ropes.

This is an out and out lie. He testified in Congress AGAINST crap and tax. And wrote a book in 2008, Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less.

A quick Google search turns up this link to an interview in which he out and out claims he would support cap-and-trade. The relevant quote s four questions from the bottom. I know he says he's against it now - when he's running for president. But which is it?

Gingrich has addressed this repeatedly saying it's unconstitutional. He also addressed it in a debate saying they were grasping at anything to stop HillaryCare and the mandate was an awful solution.

And another 2 second Google search turns up this video of a 2008 speech in Gingrich states that he's in favor of requiring that everybody either have insurance or post a bond. That IS an individual mandate. Maybe he's changed his mind about that too, but why should I trust a guy who has changed his mind from several positions antithetical to conservatism?

I will never vote for Romney. The guy is an instinctual Big Government liberal and his natural reaction to any problem is to grow government. But the fact that Romney is bad does not automatically make Gingrich good - the interview and video are Gingrich from just a few years ago endorsing Big Government "solutions". I need convincing evidence that Gingrich would preside as a conservative.

You think that Willard Romney, the man who signed socialized medicine into law isn’t a socialist? Wonders never cease.

I feel like I’m having a conversation with a leftist who tries to explain why Nazis weren’t socialists even though ‘socialist’ was part of the name.

Bob Dole was indeed a war hero and that will never be taken away from him. However, I have to say that he ran the most dreadful presidential campaign of my lifetime - and my memory goes back to Nixon in '72. It was the most lackluster, uninspiring and insipid effort imaginable and I get depressed just thinking back to how I felt that summer and fall. I never want to feel that way again.

By the way, Bill Clinton WAS beatable in 1996.

I agree with the original poster that I'm done with RINOs. If Romney gets this nomination, I will be voting third party.

I’m extremely depressed today. Every single fake conservative like Coulter, Faux News, Drudge, etc. is coming out of the woodwork to trash Newt and pimp Willard. I can no longer realistically consider myself a Republican.

Let me repeat what used to be the standard FReeper voting protocol:

Vote against the RINO in the primary. Vote against the ‘Rat in the general. Repeat as needed.

This works at all levels from sheriff and alderman to POTUS.

In 1992, there was a populist little bugger from Texas with big ears named Perot who screwed things up. Not that Bush was perfect, but he did give us Clarence Thomas, a great Supreme pick.

Not true.I saw the exit polling after that race.A majority of the Perot voters would have voted for Clinton if Perot was not in the race.

Explain to us how a socialist health care creating, gay marriage starting, gun grabbing, pro-abortion puke like Romney is a conservative.

Dare ya.

The Dems got trounced in the House by Newt in 1994. Why was Clinton suddenly a lock in 1996? Didn’t take long for Newt to get the country on the right track I guess.

That, plus Slick Willy was smart enough to know where the winds were blowing.
