A new InsiderAdvantage poll conducted Sunday night of likely Republican voters in the state of Florida shows a significant surge for Newt Gingrich.

The poll has Mitt Romney leading with 36 percent of voters, followed by Gingrich at 31 percent.

The Sunday results of 646 likely GOP voters are as follows: Romney 36 percent Gingrich 31 percent Santorum 12 percent Paul 12 percent Other/Undecided 9 percent "The race will be tighter than expected," Matt Towery, chief pollster of InsiderAdvantage told Newsmax.

Towery noted that his poll showed a surge for Romney on Wednesday, with him leading Gingrich by 8 points. The InsiderAdvantage poll was among the first to show Romney's resurgence after his dismal showing in the S. Carolina primary.

The InsiderAdvantage poll was also the first to show Gingrich's rise in S. Carolina and accurately forecast his win there.

"The trend is favoring Gingrich," Towery said, noting that while Romney's lead was still outside the margin of error of 3.8 percent, "It's not by much.".........

Yes. And tomorrow he is taking herman and Michael Reagan all around the state with him, or maybe just Orlando, I am not sure. Michael, to state clearly Newt’s position and high regard in Reagan’s heart and administration.

If you are talking about the appearance I am thinking of, there were 4000 there. 32 Florida Tea Parties have endorsed Newt.

Florida is a HUGE garage sale state, I couldn’t begin to describe. Starting Friday a.m. we had 34 families having “GARAGE SALES FOR NEWT” thru the wkend - In total, we collected 3100 dollars, and gave out close to 400 NEWTPACKS, we called them, with some pretty stuff, some issues’flyers, and lots of information stuff from the campaign, as well as ride-to-the-polls phone numbers in them.

We are giving all the money to the campaign, except for the bills we ran up to print copies for our NewtPacks, and buy fig newtons, which we served to people on silver trays while they were shopping and making up their minds.

You can make calls for Newt into Florida from his national phone banks, which frees people up locally to do more face-to-face. Please do some calling tomorrow. Newt2012 has a goal of 100K total calls in Florida. But we actually need to do more.

Yep.

Not that it’s any of my business but....LOL

Have you ante’d up for Newt.

Mitt has some awfully deep pockets and we have to counter with a full boat of money for Newt.

Don’t answer. I’m just rambling.

If Gingrinch somehow manages a win in Florida, Mittens will pull out all the stops in the remaining states. He is a vicious, bitter man who believes that this office is his destiny - not to help America but to “earn” him more advantages in his celestial kingdom!

I know many Mormons and the majority of the “worker bees” are very nice, dedicated people who are truly trying to live “good” lives. However, every time that I have come into contact with someone who is high up in the Melchizedec Order, which includes Mitt Romney, there is an aura of evil that cannot be denied. They will walk over anyone to get their “rightful” reward and much like the practice of Taqqiya in Islam, lying is totally acceptable, even expected, if it will further your end goals.

I think that Romney would rather see Obama reelected than to see one of his Republican opponents take office. This isn’t about the country - it’s personal.

Wow, nice news! I still doubt Newt can win since various polls seem to have said Romney had the advantage in early voting. But another recovery by Newt and a narrow margin of victory for Romney bodes well for the future. Clearly Romney “hiring” TOM BROKAW as a surrogate didn’t help much. Didn’t he notice how much the conservative audience liked seeing Newt chew out the liberal press?

If Rick Santorum wants to remain a viable political player in the future, he MUST step back now and take care of his family needs.

If Santorum continues to remain in the Florida race, he will be forever seen as replaying his role in enabling Arlen Specter to defeat Pat Toomey in Pennsylvania.

I'm afraid that Santorum is in a "death spiral" right now, and is doomed to repeat the actions that scorned him a decade ago.

I think you're right on all three counts, but especially the last two points. Personally I think Santorum is mentally imbalanced, and is so filled with bitterness & pride, that he would rather deny Newt and give the FL primary to 0dumb0-lite (Romney) rather than doing the principled thing to support the conservative agenda by backing out of the FL race and throwing his support (and hopefully that of his supporters) over to Newt. Sadly, I think that the more this is suggested to Santorum or if feels pressured to do this, he will pout, stick his lower lip out, and just dig his heels in, just to show how much of a prick he is.

Hope I meet you on the trail in Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico for NEWT.

Absolutely Mitt is cold in TX & OK! That is why NEWT needed a sweep in the South, if Romney owns the North.
Seems we have been infiltrated in Florida, however, more than we hoped. Same infiltration everywhere because of jobs.

Thanks, I forgot NH. It’s interesting about Huntsman. I had assumed they may be distantly related. Are they first cousins? It made sense to me that the only one he was taking votes from was Romney.

I forgot NH because my county (Palm Beach) has over a million residents, pretty much the entire population of NH.

Mark Levin covered this on his radio show:

“If you think Romney is still some nice Republican just trying to win an election, (snip) as he tries to smear Newt over known false ethics charges that the Democrats used against him in the 90s. In fact we’ve already shown here that Newt was exonerated by the IRS. We even linked the great piece by Byron York detailing the truth about the ethics charges.

But Romney insists on trying to destroy Newt Gingrich over the same false, trumped-up ethics charges just like Democrats did. He’s acting exactly like a power hungry Democrat who is willing to say anything to get elected”

excerpt http://www.therightscoop.com/new-romney-ad-smears-newt-over-old-ethics-charges/

Also, good sublinks if you click above link.

If you live in Florida, or have friends in Florida, read the above excerpt, and hopefully you’ll vote for Santorum or Newt. Romney is not an honest man.

Maybe we should send these clips to Santorum. He needs to be home and go to work near his home, not be running this long into the primary with no numbers whatsoever, but enough to stop Newt and buffer Romney. Why would he even *want* the meat grinder for the presidency with a little child’s critical illness to deal with and several children to raise. I just couldn’t do that.

Interesting comment by Fred....

Fred Thompson....”you know, there’s some old score settling going on.”

Newt had some run-ins with some people of his own party. .....but a lot of them were holding Newt’s coat back when he conceived of a way for the Republicans to take over and have a first Republican House Speaker in 50 years......When they balanced the budget,.... when he held Bill Clinton’s feet to the fire, .....and finally got welfare reform passed.... and we were winning elections....... And his personality and his leadership skills and all that didn’t seem to be a big problem back then,..... but when those poll numbers dropped off and we started losing some elections we should’ve won and so forth, everything changed.

Second , once removed IIRC

The family chart was posted so it’s available somewhere on the Internet....Probably the Mormon geneology site.

Huntsman Sr is close to Glenn Beck...Now is it fitting together?

Bain and Hunts share/switch executive officers, boardmembers, stock etc. Get the picture. One big happy family.

That’s funny. I think I’m psychologically similar to Newt in a lot of ways (for starters we’re both geeky, book-smart kids who grew up in Pennsylvania). I think I understand why he sometimes makes a very bold statement that is not predigested for mass consumption and puts himself out on a limb. What he’s trying to do is challenge himself. He wants to put himself on a tightrope in a precarious position so that he’s motivated to use all his skills and abilities to get himself back on secure ground from a very tough position. I have a lot of fun saying something that seems outrageous and crazy, shocking people, and then proceeding to explain to them in a completely logical fashion why what I initially said really made perfect sense and wasn’t ridiculous at all. Of course that applies more to instances when he scares the small, timid minds out there with phrases like “right-wing social engineering” than what happened this week, which was more of an external barrage.

I agree Santorum has other priorities right now. And I will be praying for the family.

But I can’t believe the folks here who are trying to use a personal tragedy in Santorum’s life to help get Newt elected.
