Santorum: ‘We’re Going To Win This Race’

LUVERNE, Minn. (AP) — As political watchers fixated on Florida, Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum delivered a message to Minnesotans: The race is still on, no matter the outcome of Tuesday’s primary.

Santorum, speaking Monday to a crowd of about 300 people at the Palace Theatre in the southwest town of Luverne, seemed determined to regain the Midwest momentum he’d enjoyed in Iowa — even on the eve of Florida’s primary, in which the senator hasn’t polled well.

“I believe we’re going to be in it until the end, and I believe we’re going to win this race,” Santorum told an enthusiastic crowd.

I know. You’re on the Santorum ping list by the way. Welcome home to conservatism, Geron.

The same post on every thread doesn’t make it any more valid. You were real assuring about Romney not winning Florida. Your credibility is kinda shaky right now.

Rick Santorum is no idiot. He knows he has no chance winning the nomination. If he thinks that then he is an idiot at this point. Nobody with half a brain thinks Rick Santorum has a chance to win the nomination now. He knows it.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt up to now. He’s in it for another reason. He wants to be the conservative on Romney’s ticket. That’s clear.

Just like McCain needed a conservative on his ticket to win the Tea Partier conservatives so does Romney. Romney has had NOTHING to do with the Tea Party people and conservatives. He knows his VP choice will solve that problem.

Santorum’s job is to split the conservative ticket so that a liberal republican who made a deal with him can win. Otherwise he’s have stepped aside for the good of the movement.

Romney knows he cannot win the general without the conservative support. Santorum, he believes, is the way to gain it.

It is making it difficult for Santorum supporters to get behind Gingrich if that eventuality prevails.

That ship has long since sailed. I live in a town full of old timers. The other day one of the old girls at the township office told me "Never trust and angry man unless he's your father".

Santorum is doing for Romney what Huckabee did for McCain.

it is a little ironic, but not at all funny.

Rick Santorum is the closest thing to a conservative in this race.

Don't deny your inner Romney leanings. I saw you on those threads back in May. LOL!

Just kidding, Geron.

I support Gingrich and Santorum. I know I’ve waffled on Gingrich and Santorum because I was really for Bachmann and Cain and wanted DeMint and Palin running so not my first choices. But at this point I am for anybody but Romney.

I agree. I was a Bachmann/Cain supporter as well. In the end, I’ll vote against Romney. The good news is the race is not wrapped up tonight. I don’t care what polls say. It’s not over for anyone yet.

This is why I’m getting over run by people that are tired of these endless attacks on Santorum. It is making it difficult for Santorum supporters to get behind Gingrich if that eventuality prevails. Otherwise, focus your energies on Romney and stay positive.

Rush told us today that most Santorum voters, support Romney as their second choice.

Obviously Santorum and Romney made a deal. Why else would he continue to waste the money and time. Especially with a daughter still in the hospital.

Yeah right.

Just like we heard around here Cain and Romney made a deal. And Perry and Romney made a deal. Both those guys have endorsed Newt and basically trash Romney. Just like Santorum did in the last debate - he shredded Romney on healthcare. Which Newt should have done but he was too busy staring down at the ground and getting into catfights.
