With just days to go before Nevada Republicans head to the polls to choose who they want to take on President Obama in November, reality show host Donald Trump is injecting himself into the race and endorsing Newt Gingrich.

Trump's office announced Wednesday that he would make a major announcement Thursday morning in Las Vegas, without providing details of what he would say.

Two sources confirmed to CBS News that the publicity savvy businessman plans to endorse the former House speaker in his bid for the Republican presidential nomination. Nevada holds its caucus Saturday.

This should play well with the Trump Chumps that actually believed he was running.

What ever happened to Trumps investigators on Hawaii? He said they uncovered striking evidence that Obama was not eligible to run, and he would SOON show it, then he disappears. Now the same MSM that made him a Republican star won't ask him about his past claims.

Trump Chumps never learn!

Ok, not you- but so many did bad-mouth him.

I always trusted Donald. I expected him to endorse Newt if he endorsed anybody. :)

“Or is it that Trumps endorsement can mean more campaign money? If so, then I could see why a Trump endorsement would be worth something.”

Ding ding ding! Yep, it’s the money honey. That’s what Newt must have to stay in and fight. He’s got the moxie and the ability and just needs enough cash, particularly to outlast Santorum. DT has many rich and powerful friends, so it should get interesting.

Most people don’t vote based on who endorses who...it may raise some heads but that’s about it. But for the politicians and Washington they do notice and watch the endorsements closely....you’ll see those running “play” the edorsements like a chessboard game or a poker game.

“I think more and more that the outrage, anger, and disgust with the current political class will empower a viable conservative third party that will destory the modern Republican Party.”

I think it could - problem is, it would also destroy our country at this particular time because it would guarantee BHO’s second term which might well last indefinitely - I’m serious.

The speed with which he’d finish off America in an unfettered second term would be unimaginable.

I think it was Fred Thompson who said there’s some old scores being played out in this Primary from when they tried to take Newt down.

I refuse to go to Drudge anymore. Does he have it up as Mitt getting the nod from Trump?

I looked...No..But it's misleading..He has it "Donald Doubles Down: On mitt?" with a photo of Trump and Mitt....it's not til you open the article you see Trump supports Newt.

Trump has one HUGE strength. He can shut the media up. And put them on his side because they are terrified of him. BIG HUGE advantage. And also I think he works with Sarah - he loves her and she likes him. These 2 are on to something.

“But I just can’t wrap my head around someone thinking “Well, I was going to vote for Romney, but now that Trump is for Newt, I am going to vote for Newt.”

No, but there are an awful LOT of Undecided Voters at this point, despite media (Romney-loving) propaganda to the contrary. Also, a lot of young voters love Trump.

Until I see it, I won’t believe it.

Trump is in it for Trump. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Now, if Newt gets some of those Florida Delegates, that will be the big news.

Don’t be so hasty where Sean’s concerned - I see him always following Reagan’s 11th commandment. But what I FEEL from him is a real liking for Newt, particularly when they interact.

I know, he’s probably the only one on FNC who does, but I really do get that from him. He just has to TRY to appear objective ;-)

Lindsey and now the Donald. If the way these two have been trashed on FR, including by those who are now pushing Newt, I assume there will be mass disavowment of the endorsements.

Why?

Do you always think completely linearly with no attention to context?

Newt is getting endorsements from the rebel, renegade, rogue and radical factions. That’s good. If we are ever to get our government under control, these are the folks that will get it done. Another name for them/us is big outside the box thinkers and doers.

If you clicked the link of Drudge, It goes to article stating Trump is going to back Newt..

As someone said on the other thread.... Mitt refused to go to Trumps debate, Newt agree to go... So who you going to believe Drudge? Seriously?

“Who knows the motives of Lindsey stating the ‘truth’..”

Lindsey KNOWS the SC primary was the writing on the wall foreshadowing the end of his political career.

There is something you guys aren't considering when mocking endorsements and mocking Trump

ON the ground hear tonight, I have heard he is endorsing Newt, but not a definite confirmation yet. CBS ran with the story too, so might just be true.. Now, If Trump endorses Newt, not only will he donate to Newt, But he will twist a lot of very arms, that owe him favors, to do so to. Don't ever think and endorsement, is just to get a candidate votes, it's about the money!
