Most stores are doing this. Going after the “hip, gay, secular progressive”. A straight, white 50 year old man with 2 kids and happily married for 25 years isn’t welcome. Too boring. That describes me btw. And I have money. And these stores ain’t gettin any of it.

MAYBE, MAYBE IF Smellen was a lipstick (like Amber Heard or Kelly McGillis from 25 years ago) it wouldn't be so bad.
But, dammit, Smellen is very fugly. It looks like a homely man.

I don’t watch Ellen for 1 reason...She PROMOTES homo life.

Get over it or shop somewhere else.
Thanks.

“The majority of JC Penney shoppers will be offended and choose to no longer shop there. “
If that statement is in fact true, JC Penny will be out of business in a year.
However, it is my guess that the people at JC Penny reviewed Ellen's Q Score and found that she does not offend the majority of their shoppers and will attract additional shoppers.
But, to say that a majority of JC Penny shoppers will no longer shop there is asinine.
To: NYer
JC Penny is rapidly following their old competitors Sears and Monkey Ward down the rat hole of oblivion ... and they so far removed from reality that they have no idea of any of the reasons why.

To be “fair” many men get a charge out of seeing lesbians carry on with one another. However this is really alley conduct, and conduct that even alley cats are too wise to engage in.
Some liberals got the upper hand at JCP and want to make it edgy. They’ll just end up cutting their business off with that edginess.

Perhaps being spokesperson Snap-On Tools might be a better fit for Degeneres.

I thought JCPenny went out of business years ago. They did around here anyway.
Don't really care who appears in their commercials.
My boycott of JCPenny will continue, unintentional and non-ideological, but a boycott nonetheless.

The first time I saw Eleen in a make up commercial I realized that the company doesn’t care about what it’s selling, it cares more about what it’s saying.
As far as JCP gave up the ghost as soon as Kohls store started popping up. They are now my favorite.
