By MICHAEL R. CRITTENDEN And NEIL KING JR. Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum handily won Missouri's primary election Tuesday night and was showing signs of strength in Minnesota's caucuses, threatening to deal national front-runner Mitt Romney a setback in two Midwestern states.

With results from Colorado just trickling in, the returns from the other two states holding nominating contests Tuesday looked to give a jolt of momentum to Mr. Santorum, a former Pennsylvania senator.

So much for "inevitability", US Mass Media and White House.

It shows that Mitt Romney isn’t the strong candidate that the establishment says he is.

Turnout low since no delegates at stake, but it tells you something about who’s motivated to vote across the river in MO. Except for St. Louis and KC, there’s not much affection for the Occupier of the White House.

Wait. Missouri Primary?

I thought Missouri is a Straw poll, and non-binding.?

I mean I’m glad Santorum won, but I like to be more precise in terminology.

If you think Romney should be the nominee, that’s your right.

Lost their primary status- hacked the RNC off by moving the date up w/o blessing so no delegates at stake. Gingrich didn’t even pay the $1000 to get on the ballot.

Not real important now, but MO is always important in November.

It' s almost embarrassing to watch you infants get so orgasmic over a nonevent (no delegates, no nothing, just a bunch of wasted money). I would feel sorry for you because I know you will soon have your tender faces smeared in the dirt by the Romney money machine, the very machine that gave you life in Iowa. And you don't even see it coming. Pathetic actually.

Chas. Krauthammer and Karl Rove are drinking in a bar somewhere tonight. It would be great if Willard’s bandwagon would sputter to a stop before March 1.

Totally useless for acquiring delegates. Potentially very useful for acquiring momentum.

Santorum is everybody's second choice and the favorite choice of 1 in 5 of us.

The Gingrich people say they will never vote for Romney. The Romney people say they will never vote for Gingrich.

The big focus should be giving Obama a pink slip. We need a candidate we can unite behind; a candidate who can make the election about Obama's sorry record and not about their personality (Newt) or lack thereof (Mitt). The GOP could do a hell of a lot worse than Rick Santorum . . . and has.

“take that Newtbots”? Dude, he wasn’t even on the ballot.. Not to mention no one gets any electors from Missouri tonight. Hardly qualifies as smack down for Newt since he wasn’t even participating, but I am glad Santorum beat Mittens though, that’s for sure!
