HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) - One of the officers videotaped beating a man during a traffic stop was identified Wednesday as a 9-year veteran of Henderson police.
Sgt. Brett Seekatz was one of the officers videotaped beating Adam Greene near Lake Mead Boulevard and Boulder Highway in 2010, according to Keith Paul with Henderson police.

$109k for a cop job represents wage inflation. The level of technical proficiency required to be a cop or a cop supervisor does not warrent that wage. A GED and experience running 3rd shift at a Tacobell will suffice.
No economic value is created by Police so it can’t be measured that way.
Economics say that somebody would do the job for half the price. Collective bargaining, corruption and federal dollars pouring into local p.d.’s could account for that fat wage. But technical requirements and education requirements cannot justify the wage when compared to the private sector.
Add to the equation the fact that you can’t be fired from the job short of screwing crack whores on the Mayors desk during a live newscast and the wage is just hard to justify. Political patronage, corruption, greek style entitlement and Union thuggery do explain the high wage for a low skilled job with little economic value.
Other than finding the guy not guilty, is there anything the jury could recommend on penalizing the police? Seems to me that they can pull anything like this and the worst than can happen to them is to have their "criminal" found not guilty.
IMO, we need something like "Not Guilty, With Prejudice" (against the authorities). i.e. Paying of defendant's legal fees, automatic fine, loss of rank or outright termination for the officer(s), plus automatic fines levied against the PD. A couple of findings like that and these types of abuses would evaporate.
Why don’t you do it yourself. This issue appears to be of considerable importance to you and I suspect you will feel better for it.
I imagine his $292,500 settlement is making him feel better.

No offense intended, FRiend, but isn’t that what they get paid to do? Serve and protect the public? Not beat the living shiite out us.
Furthermore, I’m tired of hearing LEO’s complain about how tough and dangerous their job is. Hell, nobody forced them to become cops. Yet they demand more money and benefits every year “because their job is so dangerous and demanding.” PULLLEEEAAASSSEE!
FYI...I’m not an electrician, but their job is more dangerous than an LEO’s. Do you have any idea how many journeymen electricians die every year in the while doing their job? I’m not going to give you the answer; but it is readily available. Look it up. It’s far more than all LEO’s and Firefighters that die or are injured, combined nation-wide. Yet we don’t give them outrageous pay and benefits, nor do we allow them to beat the crap out of, shoot, tase and kill people with impunity.
If any LEO doesn’t like his/her job, the pay and the risks involved with it, then they should pick another profession, and quit bitchin’. The world needs dishwashers and garbage collectors, too.

You are pretty dumb. Soldiers get paid so they should quit their bitchin as well, they weren’t forced to join the military. Doctors and Nurses get paid so they should quit their bitchin and get a different job as well. Somewhere in that gray matter you have called a brain maybe you could try and comprehend that I was rebutting the original posters’ broad brush. Yes, there are bad cops, terrible cops and worse. They should be fired and prosecuted, but the common sense I used to ascribe to almost all FReepers is waning so some have to rebut the ridiculous argument that our society doesn’t need police of any kind and that they are all out to get us.
