Vanity: Over-the-top Phony Romney RoboPhone Call

Posted on 02/19/2012 2:45:24 PM PST by DJ Frisat

Sorry for the vanity post, but I'm feeling pretty insulted by a phony robocall from Mitt Romney's Michigan campaign headquarters today. Here's what happened:

I returned from an errand to discover a voice mail message, stating:

"Hi, this is Mitt Romney calling. I was calling your home to see if I could speak with you directly and ask for your vote directly, and maybe answer some of the questions that you might have for me. It appears that I've not been able to make that happen, but perhaps we'll run into each other at some point during the campaign." The message went on to speak of the importance of the election and defeating Obama, yada yada yada.

Let me get this straight: Mitt Romney is calling me, personally, to give me a few minutes to ask him questions? Yeah, right. Give me a break!

Ya know, even if Mitt were 'my guy' in this race, I'd be outraged at this transparent phoniness. He thinks we're stupid enough to believe that he singled us out for a personal phone call on a Sunday afternoon? Good God...

SImilar problem here. Got a booster for cell phone through radio Shack. Now have five bars and get internet service through bluetooth on cell phone. Took a year to get it to work, but it sure beats dial up. No other service would work in these there hills.

Some local politicians have a setup on the robocall that it will tie you into a large live conference call with the politician if you press 1 or whatever. But I didn’t think Mitt was available for this.

He’s using something like you would paint your trim with, and with no paint.

Good suggestion, Kieri.

All I get on my home phone are telemarketers.

Now on to get rid of the US post office....
