Ricky just whined to Greta that he was “double teamed” tonight.

This is one of the reasons he is worthless.

Very true. Unfortunately lost on most people.

I am through with this site. All motivation and excitement for this election has been extinguished.

Thanks alot Newtbashers.

I don’t know what debate you were watching, but the one *I* was watching was stacked with RomneyBots and PaulBots.

Hell, they even booed when Romneycare was brought up. What real conservative supports Romneycare? I don’t care WHO brings it up.

He whined the same thing to Gloria Borger on CNN.

If Rick is our final hope, we HAVE no hope. Rick bottomed out after Iowa, and there was never much chance that he could carry this sudden momentum for very long. There is every chance Newt could take all that support back from Rick and beat Mitt. Rick’s voters will not go to Mitt. Only 2 of the top 25 conservative states have voted so far. Romney’s map gets worse as this primary goes on. Newt’s SuperPAC is supposed to be getting $10 million more from Adelson, and I think it’s only spent about that much to date. There is still Plan B, where no one gets a majority, but Newt and Rick have enough delegates by then to combine together and beat Romney and Paul.

"It was too bad in the first third that Romney and Santorum hogged so much airtime."

That is what I hate about these debates. Anytime a candidates name is mentioned he is supposedly given 20 seconds to respond. Santorum and Romney take 2 minutes or more.

Romney is the most self conceited person I have seen. His response to the moderator when he was told to answer a question Romney said; "You can ask the questions you want, but I can answer how I want. The question was what is the misconception people have in regards to you. Romney must believe no one has any misconceptions about him because he was not going to answer that question.

I think Donna Brazile truly tries to present a “fair” analysis though blinded by her own liberalism.

We do ;)

I Agree wholeheartedly he’s a statesman. I just think at this point we need a hard-ass more. He’s that too. I don’t think we need the former qualities he possesses nearly as much as we do the latter. We need a wrecking ball that is fearless in destroying the constructions of the left and ignoring their ‘concerns’ on the matter.

Statesmen are great when the opposition uses logic. Newt can keep that part of himself warmed up for when it will do some good.

Newt is a Statesman with a HUGE background in history and MILITARY HISTORY as well...he will surround himself with good people....as I have said, I like Santorum, but our country is in such deep chit now, we do not need another POTUS that has a big “learning curve” and Santorum would have that! Santorum may be better served by stepping back and LEARNING for a few more (like 8) years...then give it a go...at this point in American history, we NEED a statesman...we NEED Newt! (My name is Mag, and I approve this message)

My name is Caww and I support your message!

Yes, unfortunately I have been to DU. I’m certainly not referring to all Newt supporters, but a certain group of posters here continue to go from Santorum thread to Santorum thread and deride Santorum and his supporters. It’s more than pointing out differences, it’s consistent juvenile namecalling, bashing, and attacks. One poster even lied and said Santorum’s wife had an abortion!

Mesa has a very strong and active Mormon community. Indeed the town was founded by Mormons.

I didn't know that... thanks for that info, refreshed. It sure sounded like they came out and supported Romney tonight. I think that was the biggest pro-Romney crowd I remember hearing at all of these GOP debates.

He was in the right ballpark, but to be honest I would have used the word “optimistic.” He distinguished himself from the negativity going on between the other candidates, but “optimistic” would have invoked Reagan and had a neat double meaning, representing his hopes for his campaign and his hopes for the country.

No one watched this debate. I checked in a couple times and thought they were replaying a rerun from one of the 19 other debates. They had the same moderator as the last time for crying out loud. I will bet everyone tuned out in the first ten minutes.
