Four sponsors have severed ties with Rush Limbaugh’s radio show after the outspoken host called law student Sandra Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute.”
National advertisers LegalZoom, Quicken Loans and Sleep Number along with West Coast ad buyer The Sleep Train announced this week they were pulling all advertisements.
“We don’t condone negative comments directed toward any group. In response, we are currently pulling our ads from Rush with Rush Limbaugh,” Sleep Train wrote on Twitter.
Sandra Fluke, a Georgetown Law Student, was thrust into the spotlight this week after Limbaugh called her a “slut” for her stance on a new insurance mandate that requires employers to cover the cost of contraception.
“What does it say about the college co-ed Sandra Fluke, who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex, what does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute,” Limbaugh said Wednesday.
The radio host’s comments caused customers to lobby advertisers to pull their money from the show or risk losing business.
The California-based Sleep Train has enjoyed a relationship with Limbaugh since it opened its first store in 1985.

I am returning my sleep number bed from select comfort. It is still withing their guaranty period for a full refund if not satisfied. And will not buy legal zoom. Quicken loans? I am a loaner, not a loanee so don’t need any fricking loans, hehe.

Rush is the one silencing himself by caving to the left and making Sandra Fluke into a martyr.
We would have helped him make up for the loss of advertisers if given the chance. He didn't give us the chance to.
His apology is going to encourage the left to use these tactics again and again to intimidate sponsors.

So several gutless advertisers have decided to abandon Rush’s Show. Well, let’s get a list and boycott all of them for their cowardice!!! And what was so terrible about what Rush said about Ms. Fluke, anyway, considering who she is and what she was trying to accomplish with her ‘Rat pack friends in Congress?

I think you're right on all accounts. When this blows over, they'll come (quietly) crawling back. Numbers are numbers- and they won't get any real business from the anti-corporate crowd, as you note.

You can’t argue with Rush’s logic. Hopefully this woke the whore up from her sleep.
The trajectory of this episode is depressing as hell. But when the going gets depressing, I know it’s time to get going, and redouble my efforts to fight liberalism and the media.
That was the first thought for me too.
It's good to know what to avoid with my hard earned money.
Invididuals have the absolute right to NOT buy from any company they have a problem with. When groups and companies organize support against any individual, I draw the line, specially when it is totally transparent that the move is driven by the pervert groups and their families. The GLBT crowd is disgusting.
I am really disappointed that Rush capitulated to the Gay Mafia.
