I live about 35 miles from the Gettysburg battlefield and we had some wingnuts “anointing” the various monuments a few years ago. The NPS hit them with very heavy fines.

LOL!

Just a minor affectation, apparently, like tween girls dotting an “i” with a heart to be cute, or crossing one’s sevens in the hope of appearing European.

That’s my best guess, anyway.

The unusual oil put on the road, with fervent prayer, may well have received The Father's attention before the dutiful, laborious prayers of the sanctimonious. The LORD is not so boxed in as many Christians think. He sees the heart and loves fervent prayer, which may well have also been expressed physically in the act of placing the oil on the road. He desires for us to have the faith of children, which this act may reflect.

Remember that Jesus, Himself, did unusual things such as spitting on clay and anointing blind eyes, that then could see. I am not saying the LORD honored what they did, because I am not sure, but neither am I sure that He did not.

Luke 11:5 And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves;

Luke 11:6 For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?

Luke 11:7 And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.

Luke 11:8 I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.

The left can always be counted on to be utterly intolerant, and to act as if what others do is their effin’ business. That’s not why leftists act like fascist thugs — they act that way because they *are* fascist thugs.

Sorry, the action is more the stupidity of toddlers than the faith of children.

Atheists are going to lump these nuts in with the ‘normal’ c*ristians. It doesn’t help their cause.

If they didn't give them some kind of credence the atheists wouldn't have been out there scrubbing oil off the road (a year later, dah). Something about the oil on the road really bothered them and I say, good!

It’s a Jewish thing. We don’t write out the names of other gods.

According to Judaism,j*sus is a false god and we are forbidden from uttering or writing his name.

Writing c*rist isn’t allowed,either.

Don't knock such things unless you have tried them. Many years ago as young Christians we use to do things in faith that would seem unorthodoxed to you but amazing things happened that were very good that could not explained apart from The LORD. I wish I had that kind of mountain moving childlike faith today.

I remember that. I was an atheist most of my life, and I didn’t get those atheists at all. I don’t even think they’re really atheists. More like militant anti-Christians.

“’This anointment ritual was to call out the angels to check each car that entered the county, to make sure they were Christian, and if they weren’t Christian, they would either follow Christian beliefs or get put in jail,’ Wachs told ABC News.”

The oil was off the road a year ago. They had to scub off the idiotic straw man they saw there.

Don’t we [Christians] need to get back to the basics?

“For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.”
(John 3:17)

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

“For He[God] made Him[Jesus]to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)

“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:3-4)

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)

AMEN!

we are surely near the end times, the rise of Islam and the submission to it without a fight...

Dangerous times for sure!

I thought the rules were that it should not be written so that it should be disgarded disrespectfully. At least that’s what my Jewish friends tell me.

You can’t do that with pixels.

What sect of Judiasm are you?

That or “better than thou”.

I know Christians like that. You do it THAT way but ‘I’ do it better!!!!!

I’m sure you know the type.

A few, symbolic ounces of olive oil on a roadway utilized by automobiles that over the years deposit enough oil on the road to be easily discernible with a casual glance?

Yep, the carnage will be unprecedented.

Ellen Beth Wachs, the president of Humanists of Florida Association and Atheists of Florida, said that she feels unwelcome as an atheist in the county.

Maybe it's because of pulling bonehead stunts like this that she feels "unwelcome."

Rather than just ignoring it, like a normal atheist would, she's showing herself to be anti-Christian, and this is her way of symbolically "overwriting" the Christian scent with her own, in the dog world, she would have just peed on the road. This is her version.
