(NEWSER) -- Rick Santorum bowls a good game, but gay rights groups say he talks an offensive one. "You’re not gonna' use the pink ball. We’re not gonna' let you do that, not on camera," he told a young man while bowling with college Republicans in Wisconsin yesterday, the Raw Story reports. "Friends don't let friends use pink balls," he added. Critics say Santorum's remarks are just the latest in a long line of insensitive statements.
"He’s proven that he thinks LGBT people are second-class citizens not worthy of dignity or respect," says a spokesman for the Human Rights Campaign gay-rights group. "In this case, he’s advancing tired gender norms by implying a boy should be ashamed or embarrassed to use a certain color bowling ball." Santorum has been bowling his way through Wisconsin ahead of the state's April 3 primary, and has challenged Mitt Romney to a bowl-off, according to theWashington Examiner.
I and I have to confess that I like strawberry ice cream. Would Santorum admonish me for my choice of ice cream?

The hijacking of the word "gay" is also another ploy by certain people. In literature, the gay cavalier left his wench and sallied out to battle the puritans. It was OUR word. Anyway greeings to all ten pin bowlers. Seniors league myself, just lost a 92 year old bowler, but he is still living. The late President Nixon had a bowling alley in the White House. Quite the picture exists of him bowling, he had the right style too.
Well.. having not seen a video of the interaction... is it possible Santorum was joking?

I dont care what color Santo’s balls are..
I don’t even want to image Santos balls..

Why does Santorum even care about the color of a bowling ball used by someone else?

Sure.
He was NOT calling out the “Gay agenda” ...Or feeding the trolls. He was being a legitimate bowler. Pink bowling balls are almost exclusively lighter weights (10-12 lbs). To small of finger holes and too light for a male to use. Really...THIS is campaign news?
Oh my gosh...I wouldn’t take a picture of my 1 year old son playing with his sister’s doll (although, he usually has them to chuck them across the room). I guess that means I’m insensitive.

Yes indeed. That is one role of a “community organizer”, to keep your people constantly offended.
With the right training and peer support, anyone can be made to take offense at a universe of tiny slights.
Look up “microaggression” for an ongoing example.
I think this is a major factor in Islam, too. It takes very little to get a mob in the streets howling in rage.
