(CNN) -- Trayvon Martin's parents will ask the U.S. Justice Department to review a local Florida prosecutor's interactions with police investigating the teen's shooting death, the family's lawyer said.
The Justice Department launched an investigation into Martin's death on March 19, but the family is now asking it to look for possible interference by State's Attorney Norm Wolfinger's office with Sanford, Florida, Police Detective Chris Serino, attorney Ben Crump said.
The Martin family will send a formal request to the Justice Department Monday, Crump told CNN Sunday.

I expect Zimmerman will ultimately be found guilty of the federal crime of "depriving the victim of his civil rights" and sent to federal prison. Can't have race riots yet, we want to save those for the republican convention in August.

There is a FINE civil rights case here. Zimmerman’s dad should go on TV and make the case - he wants the PARENTS charged for raising their son - who assaulted his son.
Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee, along with Capt. Robert O'Connor, made the decision to release George Zimmerman after consulting with State Attorney Norman Wolfinger -- in person. After a conversation between Lee, O'Connor and Wolfinger, the decision was made to "cut Zimmerman loose".
Homicide investigator Chris Serino filed an affidavit stating that he did not believe Zimmerman's account of the shooting. He recommended charging the 28-year-old with manslaughter, but was advised by Wolfinger's office that there wasn't enough evidence to secure a conviction. Zimmerman was subsequently released.
If true, the account may explain why Wolfinger recused himself from the case, on the same day Lee announced he was stepping aside.
The dad wasn’t at home but did he ever live there? Were Trayvon’s parents married?
The next time something like this happens the patent office will probably be inundated with trademark requests.
In fact, If I could afford it I’d copyright “If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon” then sell some t-shirts.
Don’t know what the truth is but maybe we also need an investigation of the parents. These folks seems way to anxious to take advantage of the situation (trademarks for Travon? - You have to be kidding me)..

evidently our president and others think he is not and the law is supposed to do wha they want regardless of the truth..hang the truth..lets make it political cause the prez is in trouble..lets rile up our voters and save the prez.
All I know is that if my son had been shot, staking claim to the rights to a slogan so I could cash in on it would be the last thing on my mind.
That is the next step. And it will work. Zimmerman will be charged with all sorts of things until something sticks.

For instance - did the same peope tell you he was a “football player” - and posted his middle school picture? here is the roster for his High school.

What grade was this English teacher? 5 years ago? Like the photos? Seriously - there are some giant credibility issues around this - even for the usual lax with facts media.
He was suspended 3X - closing on 20 days - as a Junior. By February. First suspension was for tardiness and missing school - so ...... - probably missing 20-25% of school days.
Some data - I’m not racist - just fact based:
Dr. Michael M. Krop HS is 41% Hispanic, 29% White non-Hispanic, 28% Black, and 0.1% Asian
Reading some other data - it seems like a very average school - for the low performing demographic enrolled.
When 50% of the school is below proficient in reading - BELOW the Florida average - need to take hearsay English grades with a grain of salt.
Graduation rate - 80%
Number of students taking SAT: 516
Percentage of grade 12 enrollment taking the SAT: 71.3%
SAT average for all students taking the test: 982
ACT average for all students taking the test: 19.9
Basically - if you can read at grade level (even at degraded modern levels) - you are an honor roll student at that school.
So - definitely not a total terrible school. A decent school - compared with typical minority data. Below average for whites.
My bet is - given the media and family’s approach to this - if he had “As and Bs on his report card” - it would have been plastered all over the news by now.
This guy was suspended 3X as a Junior - he wasn’t on the “Dean’s list” - he was on the “Dean’s other list”.
I’ve got nothing against the guy - but I’ll bet his parents were 0 help. It looks - to me - like a nice kid going bad/getting in with the wrong crowd - in High School (you can tel by the twitter account name - yearning for attention as a bad boy). Happens all the time. No reason to sugar coat it - in fact - that would be a great lesson to pull from this.
Well then you must not have read all the evidence, the police report for instance and listened to the 911 calls. TM attacked Zimmerman(eye witness accounts), knocked him down, sat on his chest, beat on him, smashed his head against the pavement and then tried to take Zimmerman's gun away from him, at which point Zimmerman was able to shoot the little thug.
Now, the news media and anyone else able to read know this, but the democrats don't want to acknowledge it. Zimmerman fired in self defense, period.

“The boy was a swift athlete, according to a friend, and played a range of positions up to about age 14. After he stopped playing, he remained active in the organization, volunteering six days a week from June through November of last year to help run the team’s concession stand.”
And also - why should I take even this note at face value? You ever see a middle school team with an active concession stand at every practice? Ours is home games only. Just sayin’.
It does make one wonder - how this “swift athlete” was “chased down” by Zimmerman.
I have grandkids are are involved with a local football/cheer team. At every practice, three times a week, a concession stand is available to buy water and other drinks and sometimes boiled peanuts too. Maybe it’s just a Florida thing -— it gets hot here and we like to keep everyone hydrated. It also raises funds for the team. On game days burgers and franks are offered too.
