Can we heterosexual white males join whatever organizations we wish to also?

And if not, will Obama go to bat for us?

Romney didn't say the club should allow women...he said he would admit them if he ran it.

If he had framed it differently and said the club should do what it wants next question up: "do in your opinion it would be OK to exclude blacks"?

They set a trap for him but Romney answered well IMO.

Give. Me. A. Damn. Break.

We don’t have to include everyone in everything.

There is a difference between saying that the existing owners should allow women (trying to tell other people what to do), and saying that if it was YOUR decision, you’d allow women (stating your own personal preference).

Don’t want to give Obama cover simply to attack Romney. Romney would have every right as the proprietor of a private institution to run it as he saw fit; Obama is trying to bully private owners to do what HE wants them to do.

There is a difference between a private golf club allowing women to be members (a vast majority of them DO), and having women play in the NFL.

BTW, a woman COULD play in the Masters tournament, if they happened to be good enough, but this discussion is about membership in a private golf club.

It should be framed as “I personally would, but the government has no business in forcing them to.”

I understand that; will they be admitting men to the clubs women set up for professional networks?

The NFL IS a private club, not a public utility or government entity.

The old “EQUALITY” cannard to pander to women and spoil the Boy Scouts and advance the equality of socialism and communism and Marxism.

We get it.

Romney will go step for step with Obama in the liberal vote chase, because he IS Obama, just with a twist.

We are in a last gasp scenario to permit these two very odd ducks posing as our only choices.

God be with us.

Hey, before they decide to admit a woman, let Gary McCord come back! (McCord - “the greens are so fast it looks like they put bikini wax on them”) They kicked him out and won’t let him announce for saying that. Upon further review, they really don’t want women if that statement offended them. That said, it’s a private club and they can make their own rules.

We don’t have to include everyone in everything.

Amen! Freedom of association is a key component of liberty.

Two of a kind. Freedom of association is not allowed in the USSA.

You could probably post that picture on every Romney thread and have it be completely applicable.

I am going to be sent to prison, I surely will.

When the government learns of my past covert sexist activities, they will come for me... I am afraid they will.

My brother and I didn’t know that we would someday be filled with such overwhelming regret for what we had done. It just didn’t seem wrong at the time.

We built our clubhouse, we also called it a Fort, off in the woods not far from our farm house. We made a sign and hung it at the front of our indestructible ‘boy bunker’.

It read, “NO GIRLS ALLOWED” and we painted skull and crossbones on it to scare away our enemies. We were armed with bb guns and we had taken an oath to protect our ALL BOYS clubhouse.

It wasn’t until we moved away and became teenagers that we began to understand just how handy that fort might have been.... but the first thing we would have done is take down that sign. You see, girl germs didn’t scare us anymore. ;>)

I’ll bet that if I went back to that place in the woods, I might very well be able to find an old rusted out coffee can full of old marbles.

OUR COUNTRY is going to hell in a handbasket and this golf b/s is somehow important to these morons!!!!??

Didn’t they ever have a clubhouse in the woods??

It’s a contest to see who can be the bigger Democrat.

Exactly.

There are plenty of things to criticize Romney for, but this isn't one of them IMHO.

Just in case Newt supporters were wondering:

"I'm a golfer and I'd love to belong to Augusta," Callista Gingrich tweeted this afternoon. Newt Gingrich, whose presidential campaign is on the rocks, added "I think callista would be a great memer [of] Augusta -- maybe she would let me come play."
