April 8, 2012 Gingrich All But Concedes Race to Romney

By Nathan Hodge

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who once led the polls in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, all but conceded the race Sunday to his rival, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

In an interview with “Fox News Sunday,” Mr. Gingrich called Mr. Romney “far and away the most likely Republican nominee,” adding that he would throw his support behind the front-runner if Mr. Romney secured the required delegates for the nomination.

“If I end up not being the nominee, I have already talked to Chairman Reince Priebus at the Republican National Committee,” he said. “I’d want to work this fall to help defeat [President Barack] Obama any way I could. Whatever the team thinks I can do to be helpful, I would do.”

Both Mr. Gingrich and Mr. Romney hit each other hard during the primary race. “It turned out he had more things to hit with than I did,” Mr. Gingrich said. “And that’s part of the business.”

But while acknowledging Mr. Romney’s likely nomination, Mr. Gingrich said he would stay in the race to influence Republican thinking on issues from U.S. energy independence to revamping Social Security.

“Platforms matter in the long run in the evolution of the party,” he said. “And the party is more than just a presidential candidate. It’s Senate candidates, House candidates, state legislators.”

Mr. Gingrich’s comments come as Rick Santorum, Mr. Romney’s strongest remaining opponent, canceled campaign events on Monday after his youngest daughter, who has a genetic disorder, was hospitalized.

That is NOT what happened.

FOX-BAIN “News” used the RINO Hume to PIMP
Romney because of long standing hatred
between Hume and the Speaker.

RINO Hume showed his hatred and Romney fixation.

Was there also a musically inclined overweight female on Fox News Sunday?

Sounds like a good patriot.

He ran as hard as he could, but is now willing to be helpful in developing policy and unseating Obama.

The race for Nomination is NOT over.

Even with the endless and ubiquitous CHEATING
by RINO Romney the Premier backstabber.

Just watched the interview a while ago. Hume just can’t conceal his feelings for Newt. It was uncomfortable to see.

Much like Sarah Palin. Both would rather have somebody else be the nominee but ultimately they know that defeating Obama is the top priority.

Unfortunately Romney is going to be the nominee...Most unfortunately is that Obama is going to utterly destroy Romney unless gas prices remain high by elections day and then Romney would have a 50/50 chance of defeating Obama...The most two qualified candidates in this race and the two who had over 80% chance of defeating Obama were destroyed by our own side because of the insane over rating of debates...Rick Perry and Tim Pawlenty...It is too late now...

You’re right, the race is not over, but the remainder would have to be pretty much united behind somebody else and Gingrich and Santorum are both almost out of money.

On the plus side, the debt limit is hitting the wall in August-September.

The problem is people just are not that interested in any of the remaining candidates...and that’s not good.

I wish the debt limit was the issue in voters minds that it should be. Unfortunately if you bring it up most voters eyes cloud over and they start thinking about what’s for dinner that night.

I know. Romney has so many flaws that this is going to be easy for the Democrats. The Democrats are going to be running the “flaw of the week”.

The numbers are beyond comprehension for most people.

A trillion equals a quadrillion in most people’s minds.

Right before the elections Obama is going to ask for another 1.5 trillion dollars in debt increase...The majority of voters would ask what did he do with the 1.5 trillion dollars in debt increase that he asked for and was given a year ago? Let us see how Obama is going to get his way out of this...

Santorum canceled campaign events on Monday after....

Now didn't McCain also cancel his run.. for whatever reason... and although leading... he LOST.
Better now than latter... why have we run such wimps?
Palin is the only alternative for us to Mittly and the country would fall in to support her if she would run. If you have netflix and have not seen The Undefeated take take the time and see it.
She is who we need running against obama, Mittly is a sure loser and we can not afford that. So we have NO more options right now. If efforts were put with her we would win. The country does not want O any more and we have NO options beyond her.
