Notice: Free Republic has been in full rebellion mode since 2008 and will remain in full rebellion mode for the duration!

No more Doles!! No more McCains!! No more RINOS!!

NO ROMNEY!!

Those who cannot stomach rebellion might as well start looking for a new home on the net!!

Those who have ignored my hundreds of posts on this crucial issue or who have doubted me these last three or four years might as well get used to it. FR will never support the abortionist, homosexualist, socialist, mandate loving, constitution trampling liar Mitt Romney.

In case you haven't noticed, a TEA Party rebellion is on and Free Republic signed on years ago. There is no turning back. No more crap from the GOP-e!! They've screwed us for the last time!! Karl Rove and Mitt Romney, et al, loathe conservatism and loathe the tea party and took it upon themselves to use their money and connections to destroy nearly every one of our conservative tea party candidates while pushing their big government RINOS. That makes them the enemy. I will not reward that betrayal by giving them my support or my vote.

FR is and will remain a pro-life, pro-limited government conservative site!!

We are beholden to NO ONE!! We bow to no kings!! We bow to NO RINOS!!

I'd rather fight and die like a man than bend over and be screwed by a RINO!! I refuse to kiss Karl Rove or Mitt Romney's rings!! They can kiss my rosy red ass instead!!

FUMR!! FUGOP!!

Long live the rebellion!!

Hope my message is clear.

Give this one to Obama then and punt for the next election. Isn’t that the only choice?

It’s apparent that you don’t have your head on straight. If Obama wins again WE WON’T HAVE ANOTHER ELECTION! Our only option will be a CIVIL WAR!

“What then do you advocate we do if Romney is the nominee?”

It seems, for many, the answer is:

Don’t vote, allow Obama to be re-elected and watch him finish off the country for good.

Wow. THAT’LL really show the GOP elite! Next time around, they’re SURE to nominate a red-blooded conservative! Oh, wait. There won’t BE a next time around, because we’ll be a third-world hellhole by then.

He is saying that he has had a change of heart.

I have not once heard Romney say he sought Gods forgiveness for that which he penned his name to in taking the life's of children and continues to do so, nor has he in any way alluded to that possibility....he cannot be trusted he won't flip back to pro-abortion status because his "flip-flopping" is always for political gain only.

However Newt has most definitely spoken openly about his adulterous acts, sought Gods forgiveness and ours, and made it clear by his years now with Callista he intends to remain faithful to her....God believes Him, his wife believes him and so do I.

Romney is a fraud and a deceiver....of major proportions and he has given no indication that will change as his campaign attests to.

Anyone who thinks the Congress will hold any ones feet to the flames is deceiving themselves....we better get it right this time around...Newt is the ONLY man trustworthy now to take out Romney and Obama ...and clean out Washington...and he's ready to do so.

Volunbeer's post was extremely good, and I understand what he is saying. Democracy is supposed to work like this. There is no way that any of us can ever find the perfect candidate who believes in exactly everything that we do (unless you stand for office yourself!) if only because the range of topics we can argue over is so vast. Therefore compromise is always essential in these matters. You find and support the candidate who is the best fit, and if said candidate gets knocked out, then you move to the next one, and so on.

Unfortunately, in the last few years this process has meant that Republicans end up with the likes of McCain and (probably) Romney, both of whom hold viewpoints utterly repugnant to most folk on this site. The problem is that the puppetmasters who run the GOP KNOW that most Conservatives, being good and honest citizens, will follow that process, and therefore they can foist these candidates onto the ticket. And that is true - of all the political groupings in the world, Conservatives are by far the least likely to indulge in "tactical voting".

What Jim Robinson and others are saying is that the entire political process has now reached the point whereby this 'voting for best fit candidate' idea is just ensuring the continual election of wishy-washy republicans whose policies and beliefs differ from those of radical democrats only in emphasis, not substance. In other words, the game is now rigged, and the only way left to win is to refuse to play it, or at least no longer to play it by the rules the elites have in force. More succintly, in the words of the old joke, "don't vote, it only encourages them!"

And if you think about it, is Mittens really a better choice than Obama? Give the devil his due, Obama is totally up front about his policies. OTOH, Romney will say he is a conservative, and say he will uphold Conservative values, and then do pretty much the same as Obama. In my view that makes him potentially much more dangerous.

Like Volunbeer, I'm devestated that it has come to this. I really wish it had not. In fact, I think if anything I'm more pessimistic than he is. I think things are going to get a great deal worse before they start to get better (if they ever do). But, in all humility to MacMattico and Volunbeer, what exactly are the alternatives? As far as I can make out, they amount to "do you want two plus two to equal four", or "are you going with two times two equals four"?

The real answer surely is "actually I'd like to do quadratic equations. I know they're kind of hard and not everyone will get it, but frankly I'm sick of your people-pleasing, paint-by-numbers, populist, simplistic answers. This country faces really hard choices and decisions that will significantly effect all americans, and their descendents, and the rest of the world too, and I'd like someone at the helm who has the guts to make them, even if they may be unpopular at the time."

So, even though it goes against the grain of what Conservatives naturally would like to do, I think JR might very well be right. Its sad it has come to this, but there you go. In the end, brain has to rule over heart.

It's just time! We have to fight this incessant GOP/RNC rino infested party. If we keep voting for rinos because they are the lessor of two evils we will always be doing it encouraging more rinos!

Thanks for making this forum available to all of us and remaining steadfast in conservative values.

Why then should we make ourselves subject to and support those who will continue the very tyrannies we can cite as cause for Independence from such tyranny over us?

No malice intended, but you guys have taken this fantasy to such lengths that you even try to talk like the founders. Talking like them however, doesn't impart to you their wisdom.

Romney may be an odious populist, and he may even be an enemy to Conservatism, but he hasn't risen yet to the level of being a domestic enemy of the Constitution.

If you, or anyone else, doesn't want to vote for the opposing candidate, then fine. I don't agree with it, but I understand. The behavior that I'm seeing though from some Freepers to others, in my opinion, is inexcusable. It's shameful and disgraceful, and I never thought I'd see it here on Free Republic.

From March 16th

Santorum now leads Romney 38% to 33% among Tea Party voters, after the two men were tied a week ago. Romney leads Santorum 42% to 23% among those not affiliated with the movement.

There was only a 5% difference between Romney and Santorum amoung Tea Party voters. People keep making the mistake in thinking that Tea Partiers are hard core conservatives, the fact is, Tea Party voters have elected Romney, go ahead and ban me, but the Tea Party movement unfortunately failed. When Palin decided not to run it fell apart, there are but remnants of that movement.

Trust me, I hate seeing this country die, but it is dying, and not because the system is rigged or Rino’s are being forced upon us, but because Americans are for big government, want the nanny state, and are basically ignorant of what is at stake. The public school system being used by communists was a brilliant move, it worked, it divorced man from God, and children from their founding fathers and this nations history. Worse than that, they are taught to hate this country.

So, in the end, why we think everyone is being tricked they are not, they are not like us, they don’t know this country like we do, they are not Americans like we are, they do not know this countries greatness, they in fact, consider this nation a thug run by rich white environmental hating war mongers.

I wont make another comment about Romney based on your wishes. I just wanted to chime in and make it clear that there is virtually no difference between tea party voters voting for rino’s and conservatives, the movement is not full of like minded people but merely a reflection of our society with all it’s flaws, most of them now fatal.

unless a real conservative shows up..

I thought that we had the golden opportunity to get a real Conservative after the hell we have gone through with Obama in the past three years.

I thought that a viable, uniting TRUE Conservative would run and the rest would be for the history books, "How the US Averted a Socialist Takeover of our Beloved Country". There was NO chance for Obama to win if we had a true candidate.

We would have been unstoppable.

Romney would be just a “new version of evil”. Futhermore once again the GOP-E will have confirmation that no matter how much conservatives object, in the end they’ll get on board and vote for their RHINO’s...and nothing changes at all. I say enough..no more..!

No one has suggested not voting.

And if your suggestion is that if we do not hold our nose and vote for Romney we are electing Obama, you can stuff that notion where the sun don’t shine.

We held our noses and voted for McCain all the while we heard the same alarmist reasons that not voting for McCain was a vote for Hillary or Obama. We saw how that turned out.

I refuse to vote for the candidate Obama chose to run against.

I refuse to be a slave to the Ruling Class.

McCain lost because he never really ran to win the presidency. He ran to beat other Republicans.

Romney, whatever else (ruthless being the first word I’d use) is about winning. He’s not going to lose, if he’s our nominee.

McCain lost. Never really tried it seemed.

That’s a really big difference.

I would prefer to see this nation take a hit the next four years, then we can pick up the mess and start over because it's our mess not our kids and grandchildren to clean up.

Voting Romney simply will stretch that hit out to their generation and they will take the fall and have to clean up the mess....I'm not going to let that happen on my watch. I'll accept the hit and with like Patriots pick this nation back up so that we can leave it to our children and grandchildren reasonably in tact.

However, we may not fall.... I continue to support Newt and perhaps in Gods Mercy He will rise him all the way up again.....He's done it before and we still have a chance. Nothing is impossible with one man and God...and God is known to come into the affairs of men at the last moment....often when man has exhausted all that he has left. The Primary isn't over yet....wonders can still happen.

if there is even one conservative you can vote for with a solid consciousness go out and vote, even if you leave everything else blank!

Please do not leave blank spots on a ballot. If a write-in spot is available, please utilize. Voter fraud will be rampant this cycle (imho).

-"I'M VOTING FOR THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS."

I share all the sentiments/frustrations of being left with a RINO choice for voting for President. Also, like you, my first choice was Palin (really badly wanted her to run, like so many others did). But then, after conducting a very public activist/agenda-promoting campaign for 3 years, she waited until the very very last minute to announce she was opting out of 'the' most important election in my lifetime of voting (since 1976).

Two things stand out with respect to my hopes and views of Palin:

1. I looked enthusiastically for 3 years towards her running for President (like so many others), based on her very public agenda-promoting activities on national issues. Cultivating a persona of 'fighter' and 'do-er' ("Mama Grizzly", etc..), perpetuating a direction of 'involvement' and attempting to influence the political direction of this country. All the while NEVER SAYING NO to running for President until the very very last minute. Taking things to the very edge of the precipice and then backing off - turned me off.

2. Along the way she exhorted that the most important thing in this primary would be... 'who' would be chosen, then proceeded to want to not provide any full-body endorsement of anyone (unless you call giving out endorsements on a 'state-by-state basis' a full-body endorsement). If you say and believe that it was 'that important', then why play coy and not come out and say 'who' it should be? The lack of focus and indecision on which conservative to support in the primaries contributed to a splitting of the vote by the also indecisive electorate, thereby giving Romney sufficient space to eek out some early wins.

So, in summary (for me) based on points 1 and 2 above.... Palin 'strung us out', and lost a momentous opportunity TO HOLD BACK THE LEAST DESIRABLE choice from getting the nomination. There are many people to blame for why we are stuck with Romney. You just can't blindly blame the "establishment", but a big share of the blame also has to go to "conservative" leaders and voters alike who allowed the "conservative" vote to be split instead of backing one single candidate - especially AFTER South Carolina!

So, my first choice turned out to be a Coke without the 'fizzle'.

Now what?

Do we continue to take on the 'primary' fight right up until November?

People need to look into the mirror and ask if they 'really' believe that this is just 'another election' or if 'our country's future is at stake'?

If you think that it's just another election, then play out your cards accordingly.

If you think that 'our country's future is at stake', then the choice should be obvious!

Indeed. It’s sad to see so many of our own allowing themselves to be controlled by their emotions rather than their brains.

Reminds me of a certain OTHER party.

One I don’t like.

Don’t sugarcoat it, Jim, tell us how you really feel.

Honestly, I’m not putting a dime into my home until after November. I am 3 steps away from becoming ex-pat. I cannot watch this country go down the tubes to these idiots. My life has been a eroding case of shambles the last 4 years...like I’m screaming about the freight train to the friends and family standing on the tracks...yet they are content to watch like deer in the headlights. It is costing me in terms of health both physically and emotionally. Yet, I can’t give up. Not without a fight.
