We will not waste our limited resources on FR in support for a liberal progressive LIAR

A reminder for those who are not receiving the message:

Romney is a pathological compulsive liar. Lie after lie papered over with more lies. Doesn’t even flinch when caught in bald faced lies, simply tells another big whopper to cover up or dodge the issue. Funny thing, the man actually seems to believe his own latest lies and simply ignores the glaring record of his past actions/lies. And you have true blue establishment elite RINO Republicans like Karl Rove enabling and backing up his lies. Their motivation is simply to hang on to power (and riches) any way they can.

I’ve stated many times since Romney started running for the presidency way back when that I’d never vote for him and I will not. He cannot lie his way out of his decades long record of support for abortion, Roe v Wade, planned parenthood, gay rights, gun control, global warming, amnesty, liberal judges, big government, compulsory or socialized health care (RomneyCommieCare), mandates, Keynesian economics, support and approval of TARP, bailouts, stimulus packages, i.e, every damn liberal progressive issue that comes down the pike.

C’mon. These are the reasons the tea party sprang up and the reasons he and Rove loathe the tea party and our tea party conservative candidates. Romney famously expressed his loathing for Reagan-Bush conservatism several years ago when he was trying to run to the left of Ted Kennedy and now he’s cloaking himself in Reagan conservatism, knowing full well that it’s a lie, but he knows it’s the only way he can possibly win, er buy the Republican nomination.

Screw Romney!! I absolutely will not support or vote for a proven compulsive liar with a known record of abortion and big government socialism, liberal appointments, etc. He still lies about RomneyCommieCare today. Calls it a “conservative solution.” Get real!!

Listen to what Ronald Reagan had to say about the elites pushing socialism on America via compulsory health insurance:

Ronald Reagan speaks out against RomneyCommieCare

There will be no campaign for this Massachusetts liberal liar on FR!!

Damn the libs and RINOS, full steam ahead!!

But no matter what happens we must turn out in November to vote IN as many conservatives and vote OUT as many rats as possible at all levels of government. If we don't have a conservative at the top of the ticket we must turn out anyway and vote straight conservative DOWN ticket!! Just think of it an off cycle election and pour on the TEA!! It'll be doubly important that we control both houses of congress and as many statehouses as possible.

Restore the 10th amendment!! Impeach the leftist president whoever he may be!! Restore Liberty!! Rebellion comes from the bottom up!!

WOO HOO!! I CAN SEE NOVEMBER FROM MY HOUSE!!

No Bama!! No Romney!! Go tea party rebellion!!

“I have had several FReep mails that tell me I am stupid and allowing Obama to win if I do not vote for Scumney. But I will not. Period.”

I will not vote for Romney ever either!! I haven’t had FReepmail, but my own (conservative) husband is telling me that anyone is better than Obama, etc. so it is going to be a difficult stand for those of us who will not compromise and water down our principles.

Now we have an offended group to assuage and it was totally unnecessary. No one knows where his delegates will go, but I doubt this forum brought a lot of them into Newt's camp.”

You sure hit that nail on the head.

I've been saying for months that I think Gingrich and Santorum get along much better than many of their supporters. Real damage has been done to the conservative movement by some people who have made it their goal to tear down social conservatives who are not sufficiently “pure” on economic or national defense conservative issues.

I've always believed that I can work with someone who meets the Romans 13 standards for civil government as long as they're not openly opposed to a Christian conservative agenda. I'll take allies where I can get them.

However, John McCain did lasting damage in 2000 by his attacks on Christian conservatives, despite having a record of being pro-life, and that forced him to nominate someone like Sarah Palin. Mitt Romney is far worse than John McCain. The logical conclusion from that should be that Christian conservatives, now that “our candidate” is out, need to back Newt Gingrich while we still have at least a shred of a chance to defeat Mitt Romney.

I'm willing to do that. But the implicit and sometimes even overt Christian-bashing of the last few months has not helped.

As someone who was watching C-Span years ago back when Gingrich and his Conservative Opportunity Society got started, I know there's a lot to admire about Gingrich.

I think most Newt Gingrich supporters here were and are sincere.

Note that I said “most,” not all.

I find it very interesting how many people are now coming out and saying Republicans need to get behind Romney, even though he hasn't yet won the Republican Party nomination. I can see the point after a nominee is selected, but why now? That's defeatism at best, and I strongly suspect in some cases it's not defeatism caused by exhaustion but rather deliberate and according to plan.

We'll never know for sure how many of the Santorum-bashers were paid Romney infiltrators trying to sow chaos. And yes, I'm guessing that Romney probably paid some people to come on here and support Santorum as well. He's got enough money to pay people to play all sides of the fence if he thinks it will help sow hatred and discontent among his opponents.

It used to be said you can buy advertising in a political campaign, but you can't buy commitments, and it takes committed volunteers, many of whom never show up on any candidate campaign roster, to win an election.

Romney may be proving that wrong this year, but only in part. He's almost won the Republican Party primary by outspending his opponents, but barely eked out victories in key swing states. He can't do that against Barack Obama who has at least as much money and probably more.

If it takes 10-to-1 spending advantages for Romney to win elections, he'll go down to a devastating defeat against Obama when the spending ratio is much closer to even.

Don't even attempt to lecture me on this subject you sanctimonious individual!

I lost my first child to this genocide because the Mother decided, without telling me, while I was in uniform and away, to end her pregnancy without any input or knowledge on my part! By the time I learned of the pregnancy, my child was dead! I say "my child" because he/she was just an "unwanted cellular mass" to her!

This is a loss and pain I will carry all the rest of my life as I have carried it since it happened.

So just shut up and go somewhere else to pat yourself on the back for being such a Good Little Christian!

I must admit this one gave me a chuckle. Dismissed me did you? Alright then sgt. Shultz.

This could go on for quite some time, but unfortunately I have a laundry list of things to git done today. This will be my last post, but I look forward to your future diatribes with considerable interest.

PS The weather's nice here.

“I can see the point after a nominee is selected, but why now? “

How about the fact that Mitt has 666 delegates to Newt’s 136? People here can engage in some kind of fantasy that Newt’s going to have some amazing comeback and win 85% of the remaining delegates, but that’s just not going to happen.

And, even if we go to a brokered convention, does anyone honestly think they’re just going to kick Romney off the slate and pick some fresh-faced hard-core conservative to face Obama? That’s not going to happen either.

I find this whole thread deeply disturbing.

No, Romney was not my choice. But I will definitely vote for him. I refuse to ‘not vote’. That, in my opinion, is showing support for Obama.

SORE LOSERMAN comes to mind.

How about thinking? The point is to keep Romney from getting 1144. Brokered convention and a chance at a better choice.

And, even if we go to a brokered convention, does anyone honestly think they’re just going to kick Romney off the slate and pick some fresh-faced hard-core conservative to face Obama? That’s not going to happen either.

Yep!

I am actually curious why zots are not being tossed around this time too. It is usually the course with hoots and hollers by the best of the yes men.

[Conservatives never surrender. We don’t retreat. We reload.]

I couldn’t agree with you more, onyx, far too many people in our country and here on FR have grown tired and just want it over with.

Just suppose as Washington and his men were crossing the Potomac that his Army, ‘General we need to turn back, we are too TIRED’?

What if before the Normandy Invasion, the troops complained that they were too TIRED and refused to participate?

What if the Framers of our Constitution complained...’we’ve been writing this thing far too long and we’re TIRED, it’s not going to matter anyhow’?

As Conservatives, we face the same decisions today, do we stop ‘rowing our boat’ to victory?

Do we refuse to carry forth our own ‘invasion’ to the front lines in Florida?

Do we drop our ‘pens of protest’ to an impending danger to our country?

I’ve reached my own decision and pray that others will not be intimidated, grow tired and surrender.

Although I did not want Romney, although I am furious at the GOP, although I want all of the Washington political people turned out, I will never give my vote to Obama.

How easy for Obama to get re-elected - he has the blacks, the hispanics, the women, the “I want a check from the government” people, the “I believe the media” people. And, now, guess he has taken over one conservative website.

Well, I am too afraid of what Obama will do to America to cave that easily.

If “conservatives” would stay in and fight - we might have a chance to beat the liberals. But, every year, every candidate, every decision, FR is full of the naysayers, the “he lost me because of ..........” crowd.

No one is good enough for them - so they, in effect, throw in their votes to the other side. Guess they are more interested in giving their vote to the perfect candidate than in preserving America for us and the future.

Sure glad our country was formed by others who could see that you do not always get who or what you want - but you keep the goal in mind and fight.

Yes, it will be awful to fall under a soviet-style dictatorship. Therefore we should adopt the same ends-justifies-the-means reasoning that drives the left. That is your argument. Remember the book 1984, where Orwell’s hero finally succumbs to his fears, his basic instinct for physical survival, and professes his love for Big Brother. In rough terms, that is where we are. The would-be tyrants of the left have planned all along to limit our political choices to only those candidates that support their objectives. It is called the Hegellian Dialectic, though Beck has tried recently to popularize it as the so-called Overton Window. Our current dilemma is just such a construct, a designer crisis, if you will, and a manipulation of the most brazen and insidious sort. See how it equip people like you to use fear and guilt to wrench people like us from voting our principles. But will it really be our fault if,in this one last election cycle, we as a nation sell out our founders and surrender to despotism? No. We reject the manipulation. The guilt belongs elsewhere than on the shoulders of those who reject crypto-leftists as the great stop-gap savior of conservatives. The blame belongs with those who sell their principles a little at a time, just to buy another day of survival. This is the moment for drawing a line in the sand and saying thus far, but no farther. There may be no better time than now to take that stand. This may be our Alamo. I hope future generations find in us that same measure of courage.

I don’t think most are doing that and are NOT supporting Romney. I think it is more of a defensive position because many on this forum are telling others to not vote for him IF he wins the nomination which is the same as a vote for the Kenyan. Many on here, obviously, want Barry out. They want ABO and I do not disagree with them. I never did and never will “support” Mittens. I hope he self destructs and is not the nominee. But in the end, in November, I will vote against Barry Soeotro.

Some people are trying to be realistic here. Is Newt even running a real campaign anymore anyway? He's flat broke to the tune of 4.5 million in the hole and appears to have remained in the race just to keep some media attention on his speeches. He's said several times Romney is the likely nominee and that he is remaining in the race to help shape the platform. When Santorum dropped perhaps Gingrich was hoping for a resurgence, but his SuperPAC backer(s) are long gone and he simply doesn't have the support to even compete. It looks to me like he is just out having some fun, enjoying what media attention he has left till it officially runs out.

I chose to support Newt after Perry dropped out, Palin voted for him, Todd endorsed him, he has a lot of support on FR, but none of it has made any difference. Political realities are what they are and sometimes you have to accept them. I suppose the Rochester school of the Blind MIGHT be able to beat the NY Giants, but come on, we all know what is going to happen and pretending otherwise is beginning to border on silliness.
