I agree with the author that Dowd is one very troubled lady but I think there’s nore to it than just your garden variety liberal confusion, bitterness, and illogic. Not to sound callous, but many women reach a certain age and go goofy for awhile. I hope Dowd has friends and family who can guide her to the medical and psychological help she needs.

A friend and I have been discussing how liberals represent adolescents who are residing in adult bodies. Many we know act like high school kids who became afflicted with arrested development. Our observations are being validated — MoDo fits the mold.

Very true. One may also draw parallels among the behaviors of a liberal, the behaviors of a prototypical petulant teenager (but I repeat myself …) and the behaviors of an alcoholic or addict.

The alcoholic / addict gets emotionally "stuck" and exhibits arrested emotional development reflecting the age at which he or she begins to use. The behaviors of today's modern liberal are too well known to need comment on this forum.

Personally, I'm trying to use the term "CAStrist" — portmanteau for 'Collectivist / Altruist / Statist' — for the MoDos of the world wherever I can, so that we can 'free' the term 'liberal' and return it to its proper place.
