Barack Obama's Re-election Bid is Already in Deep Trouble. "Hot Diggity Dawg" Says it All!
Daily Mail ^ | April 19, 2012 | Toby Harnden

Newt Gingrich may not have got the memo but the battle for the Republican nomination is over. Some in the Romney campaign were hoping for a Febuary end but others were fearing it would go on until June and a small number of Republicans even predicted a convention fight in August.

All in all, April is not a bad result for Mitt Romney - long enough to test him, short enough to allow him to focus solely on the general for the final six months.

Despite the very recent and ugly and negative primaries, Romney's struggle with conservatives and the relative difficulty he had in overcoming a lacklustre field, Republicans - who tend to fall in line more readily than Democrats - are already uniting behind him.

Obama_1318962c President Barack Obama: in deep trouble

The RealClearPolitics poll average puts President Barack Obama at 47 percent and Romney at 44.2 percent - statistically insignificant lead of 2.2 percent.

Drill down into the numbers of the latest CBS poll and there are ominous signs for Obama. Only 33 percent of Americans believe the economy is moving in the right direction. A mere 16 percent feel they are getting ahead financiallty. Some 38 percent think their situation will get worse of Obama is re-elected, 26 percent think it will get better.

A cursory look back at incumbent versus challenger presidential races does not give Obama much comfort.

In April 1976, President Gerald Ford was in about the same position as Obama is now. He lost the 1976 general election to Jimmy Carter by two points. In April 1980, President Jimmy Carter was leading Ronald Reagan by 38 points to 32 points with John Anderson on 22. In November 1980, Reagan won by three points.

Welcome to the United Soviet States of America..where the Pravda State Media “vet” the candidates to the pleasure and needs of the RinoCrat UniParty.

This “election” will be a non-election...featuring the state approved “candidates”-whose only distinction is whether they are black or white.

Everyone knows Pepsi-lite is better for you than Pepsi. Yet Pepsi outsells Pepsi-lite...everywhere...all the time.

Obama will wipe the floor with his Caucasian mini-me....

“We must get behind that mission and stop the “WE HATE MITT” banners”

Why? The Conservative Cause is clearly served by an Obama re-election rather than a Romney win.

A Right leaning/Conservative Congress can easily remain united behind an Obama re-election....whereas the same Congress will be sliced and diced by the RINOS if Romney is in the White House.

The Powers That Be fully understand this....

Please point out in the referenced post the 'name calling' that you're alleging SD to have engaged in.

Also, please try to understand our reluctance to genuflect at the altar of your self-importance.

Mitt will end up making Obama look like the fool he is. First nominee the Reps have had since Goldwater that his smarts and ability to think on his feet.

Anyone but Obama. This is a grassroots system anyway. Need to take over local governments, state houses, house and senate. This system was designed to be ran from the bottom up not top down.

“he’s Got the Unions behind him, the American Black Community and a Billion dollar war chest”

His division politics , forcing everyone into groups, while it may work short term in the long run it seems like it would upset many more than he would attract?
I mean while he may get the stupid vote he would lose many more by pissing them off calling them sexist, racist, homophobes, greedy “rich”,everyone in the medical field, everyone who doesn’t have a Union job or work for the governement, everyone who is not a Muslim, and or anyone who isn’t a fan of George Soros.
Not to mention he is a skinny lying manipulative punk who has helped push gas prices up and never got Unemployment below 8%.
To bad our answer to Obumbo is oRomney..? Just mind bending.
Good Help us!

That is a good point worthy of consideration...Just can’t let myself roll those dice by allowing the current administration to stay in.

“You’ve only been here since mid-February. Your ignorance of politics is appalling.”

Pointing out someone’s length of stay, and calling them “ignorant” is to engage in name-calling and expressing an “entitlement” attitude.

Calling someone ignorant does not move a discussion forward, or lend credibility to one’s points. Also, to consider one to be entitled because they have been on this site longer is again to engage in rhetoric that is not helpful. So what if someone is only starting out? Does it make their points less thoughtful or meaningful? Isn’t this “entitlement” mentality one of the things we conservatives are fighting against? I thought so, and so it is important to remain consistent.

Finally your reference to “genuflecting at the altar” was also offensive and uncalled for, and I fail to see the reason for that kind of statement.

One can easily exhibit ignorance of a particular subject without being ignorant per se.

While it's true that longevity in and of itself is not necessarily determinant, it's often been seen 'round these parts as indicative of motivation; sometimes (gasp) of the disruptive variety.

So both your original accusation and rebuttal fail to offer convincing proof of 'name calling'.

Nice try, though.

I get it now. Understanding how The world works requires long memberships at Free Republic.

And the undeniable fact that Gingrich is a has been, vanity, fringe candidate that, if he somehow did get the nomination, would lose 40-45 states is mitigated by the fact that Romney is a facist. .

Nobody is happy about Romney being the nominee, Sonny. It's a shame a credible challenger, rather than self absorbed jack ass with his own with his own questionable conservative credentials wasn't around to challenge him. But continuing to ride the Gingrich horse at this stage (or at any stage), and pointing out how there is hope because a poll shows him losing badly to Obama, and then pivoting to accuse others of ignorance based on time at FR, and the complete non sequitur of Romney's apparent facism raises serious questions about just who is displaying ignorance.

Unless and Until Romney actually wins the required number of delegates - then he is NOT YET NOMINATED - plain and simple. When Romney does win the required number of delegates - then his supporters can say (not just claim or insist or stomp their feet - or whine - or grit their teeth - and shout at others) that Romney is the official nominee...

I will never stop, TYVM. Mitt is a worthless Marxist. If he wins the nomination, libertarians like me have already lost and authoritarians have won. And you Mitt supporters can “line up behind him” all you want - count me out.
