Samuel Wurzelbacher, the conservative activist popularly known as Joe the Plumber, is circulating a letter praising President Barack Obamas life story and crediting Christianity with his miraculous ascent to the presidency.
Wurzelbacher is the Republican congressional candidate challenging longtime Ohio Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur. He gained national fame during the 2008 election after he challenged Obama on tax policy during a campaign stop.
The letter, provided to The Daily Caller, strikes a respectful tone, at one point saying that Obama came to Christ and he is my brother. Fringe Obama opponents often claim that the president is secretly a Muslim.
Its not well, Christian to question Obamas religious faith, wrote Wurzelbacher.
One of the reasons I really dig Christianity is that its so incredibly powerful and amazing, he wrote. The lives of millions of people have been given meaning by their faith in Christ. And what better confirmation of that strength do we have than the life story of President Obama?
Wurzelbacher then provided a brief summary of the presidents biography, implying that Obamas Christian faith played a key role in his lifes successes.
Imagine being the child of a mixed-race marriage especially in the turbulent 60s and free-wheeling 70s, he wrote. And when you throw in that dad was a Muslim and mom an atheist you know it could not have been easy and they were Communists for crying out loud!
At age six, young Barry was shipped off to Indonesia and exposed to Islam for several years. His parents divorced, he returned to the U.S. and Barack was placed with his grandparents. By the time he got to college, he was experimenting with cocaine, marijuana and even thought about using heroin.

I agree with you - If he was asked a question that would have seen him portrayed as a igonrant blue collar slob if he answered it straight then yes it just puts that issue to rest and lets him focus on where Obama is wrong politically and fiscally etc.
Mel
It looks to me, from the excerpt, that he is feigning praise and then exposing a bunch of character flaws.
It’s FUNNY. Actually kind of hilarious,
There is no way he could get that info out there without its being wrapped in feint praise. A frontal assault would kill him; how do they go after him for praising Obama for overcoming all the trash in his background which he then goes on to enumerates.
IM BLESSED TO BE A CHRISTIAN
By Joe the Plumber Wurzelbacher
Not that long ago, I became a Christian. It was a magnificent event in my life that transformed me. It was, like many people have experienced, a moment of clarity. The weight came off my shoulders as I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior — Christianity has made me a better person.
Im not saying Im perfect, but I am forgiven. (Thank GOD)
Now you may remember that Barack Obama and I have an unusual history together. We dont share too many of the same political views, but we do have something in common: Were both Christians. The President says hes a follower of Christianity and I take him at his word. I dont question his faith, and when I read or hear people claiming hes not a Christian because of this or that, I dont like it.
Its not well, Christian. So before this election season gets into over-drive, I want to remind everyone that were all Gods children and our President should be given the love and respect the Golden Rule he puts forth. Its the core of being a good Christian and if you can get that down, youre close, my friend.
One of the reasons I really dig Christianity is that its so incredibly powerful and amazing. The lives of millions of people have been given meaning by their faith in Christ. And what better confirmation of that strength do we have than the life story of President Obama?

Hardly sounds like one who would become President of the United States, the most powerful man in the greatest, most powerful country in the history of the world, does it? It seems against all odds
almost miraculous?
After Barack Hussein Obama suddenly cast-off his Muslim roots, rejected his mothers disbelief in God, turned tail on the Islam of his early life and converted to Christianity - BLAM - hes elected President. Anyone who believes the two things are not connected is being disingenuous at best. I dont know how or when it happened, whether when he was partying at college or five minutes before he first decided to run for office, but it doesnt matter - he came to Christ and he is my brother.
Barack Obama once famously told me he just wanted to spread the wealth around and I take him at his word about that as well. After three years of watching the policies hes put forth, the agenda hes pushed and the detrimental effect its had on our country, I dont question it one bit
Depends. If we're hypocritically judging out of our own hidden sins, he's got a point: "You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things." (Romans 2:1)
If we're weighing a person's doctrine and profession in light of Scripture, he's off. Believers have every right and duty to "test the spirits". Not only to say "You're WRONG!" and reject a person but to hopefully correct them in love.
As much as I despise Hillary, she had a good description of her impression as to whether Obama is a muslim.
“I wouldn’t say he’s a muslim.. that I know of.”
I agree. Does Joe want to spend the next six months taking about Obama’s religious faith or lack of it? No.
People are not going to pull the lever for him based on Obama’s religious beliefs. He is smart to put this issue behind him and to move forward.
Yep. Joe is being very clever - I think the whole thing is really sarcasm.
“I would no sooner praise BO than I would Stalin.”
Read it again. BO is not the one receiving praise.
I guess Joe didn’t really want that office.
These assclowns in the media act like this guy is the first person in the history of the world to go by his middle name.
This could be a subtle way of Joes to expose 0s commie and atheist background and baggage.
I was thinking the same thing, also. I was expecting some kind of groveling drivel ... and maybe it did turn into such (I just skimmed the posted section) ... but that was kind of a pretty zinging bit of 'praise' he laid out there:
"And when you throw in that dad was a Muslim and mom an atheist you know it could not have been easy and they were Communists for crying out loud!
Yikes.
I suppose you could conclude that only a Christian rebirth could change someone from such a pedigree .... or perhaps the other reasonable conclusion is that Mr. Obama is in alignment with his upbringing, and he is making fraudulent use of the Christian label... But of course, only a Communist or atheist would try something like that ... say, wait a minute...

“I’m not aborting babies, I’m sending them to Jesus.”
You got me there. LOL
Joe has held his head in the toilet too long if he believes BO is a Christian. Something gooney going on in his head.
It is actually a smooth attack on Obama without a full out frontal assault.
Joe might be a student of Sun Tzu and "the Art of War".
Preach it!
I can’t believe you guys don’t get it: Joe isn’t blathering over Obama, rather he figured out a clever way to emphasize Obama’s roots to Islam and the drug culture that might actually get the attention of the main street media and the millions of voters who are too stupid to look under the rock on their own.
Yep.
