Voting for Romney? Where is your line in the sand? (Vanity)

Posted on 04/26/2012 9:18:03 AM PDT by Student0165

I want to ask those who consider themselves conservatives, and are going to vote for Romney because he happens to have an (R) instead of a (D) behind his name on the ballot sheet, where do you draw your personal line in the sand and say "No more"? For stupid people reading this (liberals and DHS type workers), I don't mean violence - I mean not voting for "the lesser of two evils".

“But you are on record as advancing the idea of giving obama another four years.”

RTZ: Now just a minute. That is a blatant false characterization of what she has been advocating. You SOUND Romneybot-like, whether you intend to or not.

“A few freepers have noticed that some of those of you who are pushing for this...”

RTZ: Pushing for what exactly?

” If I was a pure idealist, I may not even have voted for Reagan. He did run deficits, keep social security in its present form, compromise with Tip O’Neil and pass amnesty. But, he was the best to deal with the Soviet Union and the Carter malaise. My ideal candidate now doesn’t exist. I didn’t hear any candidate supporting the repeal of the 16th and 17th amendments and privatization of social security. But, I am honest enough to acknowledge my ideal candidate would not have won. “

Armando, you sound like 90% of us.

God bless you, brother!!

The line in the sand is sitting in the White House.

That’s good to hear because I’ve remembered how decisions in Reagan’s second term eventually cost me my job and career. But I still loved him.

I supported Santorum, but I have no problems voting for Romney in November. I only want one thing—that he’ll FIRE every last one of those GD envirowacko zealot b*st*rds at the EPA. Fire them ALL, sanitize the computers, sell them, sell the furniture, sell the building, everything. And if no one wants to buy the building, RAZE it and sell the bare land.

That’s all I want, Mitt. Destroy them utterly.

Newt did repeatedly advocate for the privatization of the employee contribution to Social Security in accordance with the Chilean and Galveston models. You must have missed most of the speeches and debates.

Nobody was expecting the “perfect” conservative candidate. That’s a complete straw man argument. We were just looking for someone better than Hillary Clinton in a tie, a.k.a. Romney.

Yes. But has he given any indication he intends to do something like that? Newt sorta did. Ron Paul wanted to cut Foreign Aid to zilch; don’t know about the EPA. Santorum didn’t say anything I can remember about it. You still have hopes that Romney will gut the EPA? Sure hope he does, if he can get elected.

FOFL! And just who is going to prosecute him......Eric Holder? LOL

Nobody, but nobody, would have the guts to prosecute him. And the reason is: fear of all out race riots.

I’d vote for Satan before I voted for Obama, so voting for Romney won’t be that much more difficult.

More crap from the crap-slingers. It is possible that the majority of people see Romney as the best way to beat Obama. Not everyone is in a HUGE conspiracy.

Its hilarious to me that the same people who used to scream "RINO!" at me for defending Newt, are now lamenting the demise of his campaign. Conservative insanity never ends. That's why we're screwed.

Of course not. I just don’t think I can vote for Romney, who to me is the exact same thing as the greater of two evils. Why would I vote for the same thing?

The quote is, "Stay classy, San Diego". Don't copy tired, over-used catch phrases if you don't know where they're from. You look even more stupid.

And I'm sorry you don't care enough about your country to get "angry". I do. Political stupidity angers me. Someone who plays to the audience to get cheap "Atta girls" from the hacks and loons ANGERS me. Someone with the brainpower of lettuce who thinks its fine to sabotage the country and our future because she didn't get their nominee ANGERS me!

PS: the "Bless your heart" thing is really pathetic. Even in Texas they don't do it more than once.

RE :”The reason we're stuck with Romney is a failure of conservatives rather than a grand conspiracy of the elites.

My theory is that many Republicans didn't want to run because as ugly as the races can get they like even less the thought of being a POTUS with :
1) a 6+ Trillion dollar debt, 1.5T$ deficit,
2) Democrats who have a sole mission to destroy them,
3) a base (us) that wants/needs them to get things done that a PoTUS cant do WITHOUT A FILIBUSTER PROOF Senate.
4) Independents that are so clueless they dont even know which party controls the congress half the time.

When asked if he would run by Cavuto, Jim DeMint replied :”Why the hell would I want THAT job?”

And if, as his track record justifies, Romney is only 1% conservative or less, kissing the backsides of his fellow leftist eklitists and destroying the GOP in the process along with the country(as surely as will Obozo), then, hey, there's your Victory (???), right? And the best part is that you will empower the GOP Elite to wage (with nothing more than mountains of money) their primary campaigns of distortions, lies, libels and slanders to destroy each and every decent conservative. We don't have their money and we never will. All we can do is punish their tactics by punishing their candidates until they get the message. We don't want Obozo but we are suicidal if we tolerate Romney and the corrupt GOP Elite in power after what they have done this year alone. If Romney winds up in the White House, actual conservatives will have no more influence than they will have with Obozo. That is the simple truth and that is no oversimplification and YOU know it.

People are free to vote Libertarian if that is their flavor of the year or they can vote for Virgil Goode on the Constitution Party or, like me, they can vote for fellow FReeper Tom Hoefling (Eternal Vigilance) particularly after checking his homepage and websites. At least, any of those choices represents a vote for principle and a vote for Romney by any actual conservative is an utterly wasted vote and an encouragement to our enemies in both parties.

After 44 years of voting for each and every GOP POTUS candidate including such utter RINOs as Ford, Bush the Elder, Dole and McCain, I have had it now and forever. If the GOP wants my vote, it can darn well EARN it by nominating conservatives. Otherwise, to hell with them and their lavishly funded serial liars and spineless cretins like Romney.
