Democrat Booker Says Obama Ad 'Nauseating'

Democratic Newark Mayor Cory Booker is blasting an Obama campaign ad on for its attack on Mitt Romney's tenure at private equity firm Bain Capital.

Appearing on a roundtable discussion on NBC's "Meet the Press," Booker, an Obama supporter, described as "nauseating" the ad released last week about Bain's involvement with a Kansas City steel company that later went bankrupt.

"I have to just say from a very personal level, I'm not about to sit here and indict private equity," Booker said.

"If you look at the totality of Bain Capital's record, they've done a lot to support businesses, to grow businesses," he added. "And this, to me, I'm very uncomfortable."

I’ve been watching Booker since 2007. It’s a shame he wasn’t the first American black president. He’s done more to help black Americans as well as ALL Americans rise up out of poverty, instead of pulling so many down INTO poverty. Obama had an opportunity to be a great president and he blew it because of his sociopathic ideology.

No respect for Cory Booker. He says Obama must be re-elected. Lost me right there.

I could not agree with you more. NJ is a Dem state and eventually Booker will be its governor. Having said that I would not vote for him because unlike Obama he may be a dynamic competent person but unfortunately he is afflicted with the Democrat virus.

Corey Booker is infected with the groupthink virus, but not entirely. There have been numerous times where he has upset the lockstep leftist establishment, to the point where during one election campaign (during a primary) his opponent called him a “white Republican” (Sharpe James, now a convicted felon). Has he been good for Newark - I might say yes. As for New Jersey, too liberal.

I still have a bet that he is going to break the streak of Newark mayors who have gone to prison. The past four mayors have wound up in prison.

The more I see of him, the more I like. Democrat or not, I see a good guy. I’ve seen Fox news coverage of him sometime last year and he’ was impressive...his story, his commitment to Newark, etc.

This accounts for us out of state folks history less. And for the “fun video” that I saw with Christie and Booker, kinda goofing around and acting like the Seinfeld “Neuman”.....

It was funny and in good spirits. Yep. Even a lot of Dems have to know that zippy is a bigtime mistake. Thanks for the info.

I’m not sure why you would think a state that would elect Christie (and still hold him in high regard after his tax-cutting) would elect a socialist shakedown artist like Booker (who only seems good in comparison to his jailed predecessor). The NJ Devils owner was a fool to move his team to Newark, and his only thanks was to be called a high-faluting huckster by Newark’s failed mayor who is begging people to subsidize his welfare rat-hole. Independent arbitration determined that in fact the city owed the Devils money (which they hadn’t sought while trying to work something out with Booker), so Booker runs his mouth about how he won’t attend the Devils games (who are in the final four now).

Smartest businessman? The Nets owner who refused to keep them in Newark; he saw the graffiti on the wall.

Sharpe James referred to Booker as “white” and “Jewish”, and was given a pass on both. The movie “Street Fight” shows Newark firemen removing Booker signs from telephone poles during Booker’s failed first try to unseat James.

Booker knows it will require consensual spending by whites to keep his city alive; the government subsidies have dried up, with no visible progress.

Same reason a state with a heavily Dem populus would elect a popular effective Republican Tom Kean to fix things and then elect a bumbling Dem hack Jim Florio after they are fixed.

I despise Florio, but I believe he ended our cash-for-kids program before the Welfare Reform of 1996.

This state isn’t nearly “fixed” enough to toy with a wanna-be like Booker; his popularity in Newark isn’t so great, and he is only popular with people who aren’t impacted by the war parties that issue forth from Newark each night.

He already walked back his comments. Even made a special ad to do so. No one gets away with criticizing the king. No one.

Florio also undid much of what Kean did as well as raised taxes and increased spending to drive the state into recession. Again it took another Republican Whitman to undo the damage that Florio did during her first 2 years before she returned to her RINO roots. Then another round of Jerseyans putting back Dems in power to create a new fiscal crisis and recession culminating in Corzine blowing up the state.Followed by Jerseyans electing the Republican Christie who has done a good job in moving to fix the problem. Christie may be reelected but he will be followed by a Dem as Jerseyans have never consecutively elected Republicans.A Republican governor has always been followed by a Dem in NJ for the past 60 years. It is called short term memory and it afflicts all Democrats who have a habit of reverting to the incompetent mean. I have no doubt that if Booker is elected he will follow the Dem tradition of raising taxes and spending and create another fiscal crisis simply because that is what Dems do.That is why I would never vote for any Dem including Booker, period. But I do think he is not as bad as some Dems in the state.Nor do I think he is the impractical far left wing ideologue Obama is. We simply differ on this point.

Yes, I saw that. How sad. To make a liar out of himself because of threats from the Obama regime. He was a good man, and a true follower of Dr. King’s vision.
