SAO PAULO (AP) -- A Brazilian airline says one of its female pilots tossed a passenger off a flight because he was making sexist comments about women flying planes.

Trip Airlines says in a Tuesday statement the pilot ejected the man before takeoff as he made loud, sexist comments upon learning the pilot was a woman. The jet continued on to the state of Goias after a one-hour delay.

Not excellent, not superb, not outstanding. Just “good.”

Well, she put a DC-10 into the air at DFW and landed at Muller Airport in Austin when it was still a functional airport. I had NO complaints. She may have cut the tires on the razor wire at the IH 35 end, but it was the best landing I ever had at that airport. No bumps whatever.

I highly recommend the documentary about her called, "The Legend of Pancho Barnes and the Happy Bottom Riding Club."

It rates an 8.9 out of 10 on www.imdb.com

Additional details have emerged: reportedly the passenger expressed surprise seeing an ironing board on the deck of the jetliner.

If she was a confident pilot she would have laughed it off.

I am not sure I want to be on her flight with it being her time of the month...

I don’t know if women make better pilots, but in my experience they tend to be MUCH better instructors. I think this is due to the fact that most instructors are quite young and the male instructors at that age can let their egos take over.

I’ve talked to a few Airline Pilots here who say they reserve the right to throw ANYONE off a plane they are driving for any reason.
Drunks, rude to the help, ex wives, you name it.
Going to fly over to Okeechobee for breakfast in the morning.

Panchos...

What a place that would have been in its heyday. Hanging around with some pretty heady test pilots like Chuck Yeager, Jack Ridley, Bob Hoover and Bud Anderson. That would have been the limit.

Indeed! One memorable event in my life, was watching Bob Hoover demonstrate what the twin commander could do. Unreal!

It just doesn't seem possible, looking back from today, that men and women could have accomplished so much. They were and still are giants, and my heroes!

I met Bob Hoover and Bud Anderson a few years ago at Oshkosh's EAA Airventure. Bob signed a book I had on Chuck Yeager.

Mr. Bud Anderson was there as well, and we had a nice chat about their days in Europe. Two nicer guys you could ever want to meet.

Saw both Chuck Yeager and Bud Anderson fly the P-51's Old Crow and Glamorous Glennis, owned then by Jack Rousche.(sp?) It was amazing to see those two fly together.

I think many people there had no idea who was flying those planes at that time.

They are heroes through and through. My father, God rest his soul, would have loved to meet up with those guys. Dad was an instructor pilot at the outbreak of the war, but eventually flew B-29's out of Guam over Japan. He participated in the last mission of the war.

Great book should you ever come across it is, The Last Mission, by Jim Smith. It chronicles the 315th Heavy Bomb Wing, Northwest Field, Guam.

Actually, you might want to look more carefully. She's a First Lieutenant; and, in the Navy she'd be a LTJG. The handbag is clearly Photoshopped.

I happen to know quite a few female pilots. All good pilots, all assiduous in doing things right. Truly a credit to aviation.

Is that impending disaster or an aircraft mating ritual?
