In Case You Don't Like Romney... A Challenge To Every FReeper
email from friend

Posted on 06/13/2012 2:03:43 PM PDT by MindBender26

In Case You Don't Like Romney...

Columnist Andrew McCarthy gives us what probably is the most important question regarding the upcoming presidential election …

“If Romney wins the nomination, as seems very likely, I will enthusiastically support his candidacy. For my friends who may have hesitation on that score, I’d just ask you to keep four things in mind:

1.. Justice Scalia just turned 78

2.. Justice Kennedy will turn 78 later this year

3.. Justice Breyer will be 76 in August

4.. Justice Ginsburg turned 81 about a week ago and has had cancer twice.

Whoever we elect as president in November is almost certainly going to choose at least one and maybe more new members of the Supreme Court — in addition to hundreds of other life-tenured federal judges, all of whom will be making momentous decisions about our lives for decades to come.

If you don’t think it matters whether the guy making those calls is Mitt Romney or Barack Obama, I think you’re smokin’ something funky….”

So for anybody who is thinking of not voting because your favorite didn’t get nominated, or writing in a candidate who can't win ... just imagine this possibility:

'SUPREME COURT JUSTICE ERIC HOLDER'

Did that get your attention!

My point is that these are the BEST we can expect from Romney. Romney’s appointments in Massachusetts were far WORSE.

“bigoted views”? How about the “truth about his religion”. Even if he was a Baptist, I wouldn’t want to vote for him. He is a liberal - any way you slice it.

This guy [SoConPubbie] came on board FR in 2007 just to try to convince everyone not to vote for McCain.
Same troll stuff now.

So anyone who doesn't agree with you is a troll?

In case you missed the memo Sparky, our esteemed Founder himself stated that there is a truce in effect between you RomneyBots and those not jumping on the Romney bandwagon. You can make any arguments you want to, but knock off the 'troll' garbage, I know SoConPubbie, and that fine FReeper is no troll.

How about YOUR record SoCon? Your posts prove you are 100% dead set on defeating the republican nominee, that you consider nothing about the need to defeat Obama, that you spend all of your energy urging the defeat of the republican.

I’ve got OBAMA as president and I am supposed to listen to your opinion which is just keep Obama?

That train has left the station.

I’m glad it only took 6 posts for the obvious to be stated.

Who to vote for.............hmmm

On one hand we have a guy taking us over the cliff at 100 mph. On the other hand, a guy whose record shows he’ll only do 95 mph, yet claims he printed the roadmap for the guy who is going 100.

HMMMMMMMM.

Obama or Rmney.... and that’s your only real choice

That simply isn't the case, Mindbender, although I respect the point you're trying to get across. What you meant to say was "those are the two standard, preferred choices." (Or something like that.)

However, in reality, I "CAN" vote Virgil Goode here in Ohio. His name really will be on the ballot. It really will tally under his name. And really, neither Obama nor Romney will be able to claim that vote for themselves.

Therefore, it is a "real" choice. It really does exist.

And I really will vote for The Constitution Party candidate, Goode. (Who, incidentally, is the only conservative in the race.)

You are being given two cups and told you must drink from one for fear of the other. The year is 2012 and the cups are filled with kool-aid instead of tea. But what we must do now remains the same as it was then ... empty the cup into the harbor. I want both the liberal candidates to suffer a humiliating defeat. But, unless a miracle happens and the likes of Virgil Goode becomes president, one of the others will rise to the executive office. Does it matter which one? Heck yes. For three years now we have been building a coalition against Obama. Our team is sensitized to the type of battle Obama and his team wages. We are ready, willing, trained, and able to bring the fight. And we are making ground. We are poised to take the majority in both Houses and Obama wouldn't even set foot in my state to campaign against Scott Walker. Why the heck would I willingly toss aside the incredible progress we've made, only to damage the Republican brand for the next three congressional elections and the next two presidential elections just to call a liberal statist like Romney "President"? He isn't worth it. We are better off keeping all eyes on Obama.

It’s like obomo whispered to Medvedev, after he’s re-elected he will have a free hand b/c he won’t have to run again. And we all know he will do all the “remaking of America” he can possibly accomplish. This remaking certainly will include appointing doctrinaire progressive/socialists to the SCOTUS.

Curious, do you know the procedure for appointments in MA? I’ve asked before but don’t know and haven’t really searched for the info. In some states the Gov. has little authority outside of selecting someone provided from a group of names given to him by some committee.

This year’s election is Rinoism vs. Progressivism. Pick Your poison. Me I am voting for Virgil Goode or writing in Michelle Bachmann if he isn’t on the Kansas ballot. Really doesn’t matter now what anybody says about it because I have been against Romney sometime and just can’t come to vote for him. A bridge too far.

Didn't have to. I've read over SoConPubbie's FR page many times, and that FReeper is conservative. He was and is steadfastly opposed to that "treasonous bastard" (Copyright (c) Jim Robinson, 2008) John McCain, and I see absolutely nothing wrong with that.

In case you missed another memo, FR is NOT a REPUBLICAN site, it is a CONSERVATIVE site, and I'm surprised that someone who has been here since '99 doesn't understand that.
