Int'l Aid Groups Blame Israel That Gaza Water Unfit to Drink
Arutz Sheva ^ | 14/6/12 | Chana Yaar

Two international aid organizations claim that Gaza's water is unfit to drink. But instead of blaming the Hamas terrorist rulers who have maintained a choke hold on the region since June 2007, the groups claim Israel is responsible for the contamination.

The “Save the Children” foundation and “Medical Aid for Palestinians” charity insist that Israel's blockade of Gaza prevents “crucial sanitation equipment from getting in,” the BBC reported Thursday. “The blockade must be lifted 'in its entirety,'” wrote the BBC, quoting a report by the charities, “Gaza's Children: Falling Behind.”

The British-based website also noted in a single line that the report mentioned that “war damage and chronic underinvestment” were also to blame. Israel's three-week Operation Cast Lead was carried out against Hamas in the winter of 2008-2009 in order to silence the incessant deadly rocket and mortar attacks being fired at southern Israeli communities from Gaza.

The groups reported the number of children in Gaza treated for diarrhea in the past five years has doubled, and blamed high levels of nitrates and other chemicals in the main water supply. Nitrates are found in fertilizer and feces, both of which are present in water when sewage is not properly processed.

The report referred to the Gaza sewage system as “completely broken” and urged the international community, other donors and the Palestinian Authority to do “more.”

A recent report from the CoGAT, however, raises the question of whether the blame shouldn't simply be placed squarely at the doorstep of the very government that was voted into power in the PA elections of 2006: that of the Hamas terrorists who now rule Gaza. .....

None of these projects are being funded by Hamas......

Maybe Hamas could spend its aid money on water infrastructure instead of rockets and mortars.

Is there, anywhere, a hint that MAYBE the hundreds of millions of Muslims around the world, many swimming in billions of oil dollars, might chip in a little bit to help a bad situation.
If the effort to place “blame” was matched by an equal effort to help, the situation could be vastly improved.
Arab helping Arab.....not on this earth.

Maybe they could use the routes that weapons and ammo suppliers use. Problem solved. (and these foundations think they're smart?)

What you’re asking for is the ancient Judeo-Christian ethic of charity. islam talks a good game about giving alms but do a quick count of how many muslim hospitals there are. Saudis are swimming in money; the PA can’t get clean water and they blame the Jews. Perfect.

Last I heard, when the Palis took over an area which the Israelis had improved with greenhouses, plumbing, sewer systems, etc,

the Palis simply tore everything up like a bunch of rampaging chimps and sold the pipes for scrap.

I just don’t give a $hit about the Gaza water problems.

Israel needs to be like a mad dog...just too dangerous to bother.

Israel has tried to be loved, now it’s time to be feared.

So many good responses on this thread, including yours. I don’t really GAF about these idiots either. Seems to me that something as basic as water/septic should be a top priority to handle internally.

If your quality of life depends on something, you damned well better figure out how it works, otherwise STFU and quit blaming others for your misery.

Oh, and maybe lob a few more bombs into Israel and see if that motivates them to help out. It’s worked so well up to now.

I’m pretty sure I’ve read that, even with the blockade, Israel still lets non military and humanitarian supplies go to Gaza but only through specific checkpoints so the Israelis can inspect the cargo and make sure it’s not wepons or military supplies. I’m pretty sure they could get all the water purification units in there they need.

Not only that, but when life quality improved in Yesha after 1967, that was our fault, too, because the prosperity and progress that Palis were making was causing King Hussein to lose face, humiliating him in front of non-believers because he never did a thing. This insolence had to be punished, right after they overthrew King Hussein. When they failed to do that, that was our fault, too, for scaring off the Syrians with our air force, and thereby causing them to lose face. This insolence had to be punished, right after they were safe from King Hussein, who was then out for blood.

***The number of children in Gaza treated for diarrhea in the past five years has doubled,***

Maybe it is because the muzzies still wipe their butts with their left hand.

Which leads to this question, How do Pali women make flat bread with one hand?

Lemme go over this again, Mookie.

When ya pull up your sewer pipes and turn them into rocket tubing, yer gonna have a crap problem.

Don’t understand?

See, when ya sit on the toilet and flush it, it goes sploosh, and all that junk has to go somewhere,....
