If We Took the Constitution Seriously, Obama Would Be Impeached

If the citizens of this Republic still took the Constitution seriously, Obama would be impeached for his decision to unilaterally grant amnesty to certain illegal aliens.

Article 1, Sec. 8 of the Constitution, which enumerates the power of Congress, states that "Congress shall have the Power To... establish an [sic] uniform Rule of Naturalization."

Congress has passed numerous laws pertaining to immigration and naturalization, including laws requiring the deportation of illegals.

The role of the President, according to Article II, Sec. 3, is to "take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed." Obama's refusal to execute Congress's immigration laws (or, for that matter, Congress's Defense of Marriage Act) is an impeachable offense.

Article II, Sec. 4 states that the President "shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for... Treason, Bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors."

The deliberate failure to enforce valid immigration law and allow hordes of foreigners to live and work in the U.S. is, arguably, "treason," and doing so in an election year to appease Hispanic voters could certainly be considered "bribery."

It would help to have more than one political party in Washington.

If we don’t take the Constitution seriously, we will be slaves.

150 years ago, a man from Illinois was elected President. He divided the country with a war, trashed the Constitution and freed the slaves.

Today we have a President from Illinois who wants a war to divide us, trashes the Constitution and wants to make slaves of us all.

Amen to that. If you can live in the White House without showing your papers then why should anybody have to show their papers to live in San Diego?

I agree, if we took it seriously, we would impeach Obama.

However, I think that what has happened is a combination of things:
(1) The media (and public education system) is in the tank for the left
(2) The republicans in power are soft and weak
(3) The national appetite for impeachment was quenched with impeaching Bill Clinton for committing perjury about women he had banged....

So, it’s really a bigger combination of things that led us to this point...

If Obama gets away with this issue and bypasses congress, what prevents him from declaring the US is no longer a democracy? Theoretically, this is precisely what he has done. The congress that is currently serving was elected by the people to represent the people. Obama doesn’t like that they are a republican majority, so he ignores them and creates his own law. He absolutely should be stopped in his tracks, if he isn’t, we have a serious problem.

I’d love to see a detailed list of the times Obama has ignored the US Constitution starting from his failure to provide proof of eligibility up to now with his Amnesty program.

If we don’t take the Constitution seriously, we will be slaves.

I feel very much like a slave or a serf. The lords live in their castles up on the hills and I labor in the fields on their behalf. I have few rights or personal freedom. Much of my labor is stolen from me. This is much worse than what caused our Founding Fathers to rebel in 1775 -- yet we do nothing.

The cure for slavery is to take the Constitution seriously. But that would be an extremist position these days.

I wonder how those troops are doing that went to Central Africa in October. What about the time he insisted Congress was not in session? This is not the first time Obama has bypassed congress. Then there was Libya.

I hear legalization of dope may be coming soon. (perhaps he'll wait for the next set of bad economic numbers to come out). Obama seems to have this thing against talking the economy on the news programs between friday and monday.

Ever notice the Republicans declare a war against something every friday after bad numbers come out? War Against Women, War against gays, now the War Against Latinos, perhaps next the War Against Pot Heads then after that maybe the War Against Equal Time On AM Radio. The list can go on. Perhaps an executive order to take over the oil fields... who knows what this man will do next. Maybe a War against Iran?

This mess would be helped considerably by conservative guests on talkshows pointing out the actual laws and not allowing pundits to steer the discussion away.

That would take actual courage as they would rarely get invited back. So they refuse to. Or they get edited out. So they must decide which master to serve...and most already have.

Here's a video replay of the homo-socialist sock puppet choking on his oath of office. His one job in life: repeat words that white people wrote for him, and he screws it up.

So now we have 800,000 Mexicans that need to go through our colleges or enter the military to stay in our country? That should help reduce college tuitions and make it easier to get in to a college. ;-)

If the SCOTUS won’t hear about Obama’s “birth certificate” then maybe they’ll decide on other matters of greater and further reaching constitutional import where neither he, Holder and others who support the regime have had no legal justification.

There must be multiple connected tangled webs of deceit, etc. that if deconstructed, would present real opportunities for special prosecutors and ultimately the SCOTUS who may absolutely not be able to dismiss as irrelevant.

Obama Wants to be impeached! He wants the distraction. There would not be a conviction because of the Democrats in the Senate.

Damn straight.

Out leaders are wusses for not doing so. And you know damn right well the other side would be calling for it for non-issues....and here we have week after agonizing week, month, years of this absolutist stomping on the Constitution without any action.

If we took the Constitution seriously, we would never be in the situation we are in now. Obama is not the first President or other ‘servant’ to have not followed his oath.
