Freedom and justice working splendidly. Don’t forget to sue the perps family for the spent cartridges.
Finally, - - some ‘big brother’ we can appreciate!!
>>The teen didn’t open the door because he didn’t recognize the woman.<<
Smart #1
>>Soon after, the teen heard a loud bang on the door, rushed his siblings upstairs<<
Smart #2
>>and got a handgun from his parent’s bedroom.<<
Smart #3
>>When he got to the top of the stairs, he saw a man break through the front door and point a gun at him.
The boy shot the 37-year-old man<<
Smart (brilliant!) #4
This kid gets 4 out of 4 smart moves. Firing first without hesitating was a very mature move — I hope this is from his parents teaching him about guns starting when he was young.
We even have to give another point for aim. When you are upstairs shooting at what we presume is a moving target, critically wounding is pretty good aim!
If I was this kid’s parents I would be swollen up with pride!
Fantastic!
What a clueless comment from this police officer! The door had nothing to do with this, since the thug broke through it. Instead, the parents should be congratulated on 1) having an UNLOCKED, LOADED gun and telling the boy where it was and 2) allowing the boy to practice so he was able to shoot first.
He was thus able to save the lives of his siblings and himself, enabling the police to arrive after the fact and not have to outline bodies with their well-worn yellow chalk.

Poor criminal! He never knew what hit him.
If I had a son...
Wow, if I had a son, he’d look like this kid.
(He'd be the guy laying on the floor with the bullet hole in him)
According to liberals every time a loaded handgun is left at home kids and innocent people are killed.
How long before the press and libs look at the race of the kid and perp to try to claim racism?
Practicing the use of that gun is also a good idea.
from the AP article: “....police don’t yet know what the suspect’s intentions were and that will be one of the first questions they ask him when he is well enough to talk.....”

Well, duh!!! The “suspect” unsuccessfully uses a woman to knock on the door as a ruse to gain entry and, when that doesn’t work, then breaks down the door to gain entry.
Props to the kid and also to the parents who brought up a kid wise & mature beyond his years. The kid’s actions ensured a happy ending instead of a potential story about grieving parents and four dead kids killed by unknown assailants.
The kid learned well the lessons of Armed Defense 101. Now he’s ready to take Armed Defense 201 and learn the concept of the “double tap”.
Good going kid—you’re a credit to your family and your community.
Why burglary? Why not armed robbery?
A 14-year-old boy shot and nearly killed an intruder....
37 year old attacker with a gun in a minimum of armed daylight breaking and entering. Perp had a woman accomplice so my guess is wealth distribution and a contribution to someone’s election campaign who favors gun control and confiscation.
Almost a good job... he didn't KILL him, so he'll be relaxing in jail, while TAXPAYERS will be supporting the WORTHLESS POS!!
Next time kid, shoot for the heart..
If this was CA, NY or IL, the perp would not be jailed afterward, the teen would be arrested and taken to juve, CPS would be after the parents.
