My fellow citizens,
Indeed we know that the ruling opinion of our highest court yesterday has compelled us to examine, among many things (from tax law, to govt. coercion of citizens to act, to enumerated powers, to the role of the judiciary et cetera). It is my opinion that the Chief Justice of the United States stepped outside the bounds of his sworn oath to rule on Constitutionality of cases presented and adopted the (unconstitutional) role of re-writing the statute entirely; as rightly stated in the Dissent of Justice Kennedy.
Despite our anger (righteous indignation in my view), great disappointment and even despair, I do believe we must ask ourselves: what would our founders have us do now? For all the talk of throwing in the towel, sitting out the election, both parties are the same and such, the question remains: what would George Washington do? Would he, John Adams, Thos. Jefferson, Gen. Sherman and the others cast aside the spilt blood, sweat and sacrifice of all they had to the building and stabilization of this nacient nation by the writing and ratification of a governing constitution to then cower and retreat in the face of tyranny? I think most assuredly not!
Now, what shall WE do? Do we owe our founders a determined fight to save what they sacrificed all to provide for us? Weather we ultimately succeed is not the question now; for certainly we will fail IF we do nothing. So we have a candidate who is a hypocrite-yes; alas we also have a president who is a tyrant. We all are guilty of hypocrisy. I know I am. Tyrants, however, we are not. That's the choice yall. Period. So...what will you do?

No, it is not a good thing, but I ask it because of many responses I’ve read that indicate some will do just that.
Our founders DIED for this country & liberty .... all we have to do is quit whining, get off our @sses, work hard, and VOTE to get into office representatives who will actually do the will of the people, not put their own power/wealth/re-election above all else. DIE vs VOTE ... we have it “easy” and can merely ‘vote’ to save our country at this point. If the current lawless, Constitution trampling tyrant stays in another four years, the “vote” choice may go away & we’ll be left with what our founders faced. Seriously.

Well, the very first thing to do is to scratch Sherman’s name from that list.
Yeah, General Sherman was many things, but a Founding Father was not one of them. Unless the author/Original Poster means some other Sherman than William Tehcumsah.
IMHO, the last few decades have pretty much convinced me that their can be no remedy found in continuing to elect the right person, or pandering enough to a minority group to 'swing' the vote, or keeping your fingers crossed that the individual you gave your, time, sweat and money to will actually do what they said they would instead of just spitting in your face.
Personally, I try to keep in mind the words of Madison:
Knowledge will forever govern ignorance, and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives.
I'll continue my research of the fact that the American people have been duped by public education into voluntarily claiming to be federal, or '14th Amendment' citizens instead of claiming the Rights & Privileges possessed by the Citizens of the Respective States guaranteed in the Constitution.
With any luck, I might actually be able to extract myself from the beast and NOT die a federal slave.
Roger Sherman signed the DOI but was not a General Officer if I remember correctly.

We owe them to fight this rewriting of history portraying them as anti-Christian atheists, or at best, fake Christians posing for political reasons.
Nope. I’m dead serious. The dead are dead. To the world, it is as though they don’t exist except for things like wills.
American history and a continuation of the connection of the people to the founders and the colonies populations of the incredible humans that created America and the whys and hows of it, is all important to preserving and maintaining America, understanding that concept is a part of the basic knowledge of a conservative.
I know the writer said “General Sherman”, which suggests William Tecumseh; however, in a discussion of the founders, I suspect he’s referring the the General’s distant relative Roger Sherman who was about as “founding father” as you can get. Roger Sherman was the only person to have been a signatory to all four foundational documents of this republic, including the Continental Association, the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution.

There was a monumental difference between the two men.
Thomas Jefferson said of Roger Sherman: “That is Mr. Sherman, of Connecticut, a man who never said a foolish thing in his life.”
And then it was William T. Sherman who said: “There is a class of people, men, women and children, who must be killed or banished before you can hope for peace and order.”
One was a statesman; the other a cold bloodied killer, that had nothing remotely to do with Founding Father values.
I understand your sentiment, but beginning in November of 2008, whenever I am at a public gathering where the star spangled banner is sung or performed, I turn my back on the flag. Yes, it can be uncomfortable with all those people behind me looking at me. But what price freedom?
I realized today that I am like the Mel Gibson character in the movie “The Patriot”, before his son was killed. It is apparent to me that a lot of us are. But that moment will probably come for all of us, in its way. I hope and pray not, but I am a student of history. I know how things work out. And times may change, but people don’t.
