EDITORIAL: The Civil War of 2016: U.S. military officers are told to plan to fight Americans
The Washington Times ^ | August 8, 2012 | Editorial

Imagine Tea Party extremists seizing control of a South Carolina town and the Army being sent in to crush the rebellion. This farcical vision is now part of the discussion in professional military circles.

At issue is an article in the respected Small Wars Journal titled “Full Spectrum Operations in the Homeland: A ‘Vision’ of the Future.”

I can’t argue with that. These COUNTRY CLUB REPUBLICANS are in a complete tizzie because of the tea party. Most often, their “LIBERAL LITE” politicians are being beat by conservative “NO BODIES”, This is why I’ve quit giving money to the RNC. I remember when these “REPUBLICANS” scuttled a conservative over a “LIBERAL LITE” republican in New York State. When the conservative won, the “LIBERAL LITE” backed the democrat. There is a new wind blowing and these people had better sign up with us or get out of the party.

The massive dislocation die-off might take us well below sustainable 1800s pop. levels.

I imagine there would be quite a few outsiders waiting in the wings for the opportunity to waltz in and plant their flag.

"I too am a veteran and don't believe Obama meets the standard set in the Constitution of being a Natural Born Citizen, but I am curious as to what you think my son, an two year E-4, is supposed to do about the belief that Obama doesn't meet the Constitutional requirement to be CinC."

When did he enlist?

"My son is doing his duty, which basically breaks down to obeying the lawful orders of his immediate superiors."

There are no lawful orders when the commander-in-chief is unlawful. All command authority is derived from the CIC.

how much they can rely on the ignorance and sheer propensity of the average TV watcher for being suckered

Which, as past experience shows, they can rely on a LOT.

Anyone that is hoping the American people will remove the blinders and start thinking for themselves is deluded.

It might be worse or just as bad most other places.

Who would be in a position to take full advantage, so secure at home were they? Naturally, their agents and sabateurs might be given free reign to cause maximum mischief.

Rules 308/300/338. I like them all. :)

And, yes, it will be an uncivilized bloody mess.

Overall, here are 3 main arguments against my notion that the insurgency will fail against the US military.

1. US cannot even win against the Islamist insurgents in over 10 years of fighting.

Who says that US is not winning against the Islamist insurgents? In fact, US has killed them by hundrends of thousands and have weakened them considerably. The only reason the fighting is continuing, apart from the fact that they keep coming from non-fight-zones such as Saudi Arabia, is that US is really benefiting from the managed-scale insurgencies -- this is the war of the future, so honing the skills ain't bad at all. A decade of experience in fighting urban insurgency will compliment tremendous air and naval superiority of the US military.

2. Even those 2 Washington DC shooters paralyzed the entire region, so imagine the terror unleashed by thousands of insurgents.

The population might have been paralyzed, but the military will not be. In fact, a paralyzed population will make things easier for the military to wipe out the insurgents. The paralyzed population will follow curfews, so insurgents will be much easier to locate using thermal/infrared imagery.

3. The military supply chain will be severely disrupted by armed uprising, thus preventing the military from mobilizing effectively.

Although the military supply chain will be severely disrupted, the civilian supply chain will be even more so! Without wal-marts stocked in every town, the docile population will flee to the urban areas for basic sustenance. Those with the supplies are survivalists and those are in remote areas. THe military can carpet bomb those areas, leaving the survivalists dead in their dungeons.

I think one of the better arguments against sustained insurgency is that half of the aged insurgent population will be dead before the nightfall after an insurgency. The aged folks will be the brains behind insurgency (ala mullahs), but they are kept alive by daily doses of medical cocktails. A week/month/year after the insurgency, no more medicine to keep them viable.

And beside all of the speculation, all we have to do is look at China to see how armed insurgency can be kept under total control if the military is powerful enough. Look at West China where restive population of Muslims are kept under complete control by the Chinese military. The US military has even more resources to do it.

” - - - yes, it will be an uncivilized bloody mess.”

This would be the goal of Communist Obama. He would be delighted to encourage us to destroy what “somebody else made that happen.”

Keep in mind that Obama flunked kindergarten, so he is just a little bit smarter than the average journalist. His sole purpose in life is to destroy America, as well as all of his former classmates who got better grades than he did.

If Romney wins, Obama will pardon all of the Gitmo prisoners, Mexican Drug gang members, and swing our Southern Border as wide open as his Executive Orders will allow him.

His lame duck “flexibility” with the Russians will involve selling Putin Military secrets and technology.

But that is just MHO.

I believe that we are going to find out one way or the other before many moons have passed. Soon, probably too soon, we are going to make a choice as to what we do:1. Docially be starved to death in one of obama’s camps. 2. Die fighting as free [to the extent that we are free now] men and women.

That was a bunch of ignorant screed.

No one in the cities is going to “flee to the urban areas” because ‘urban’ means ‘cities’. I think you might mean ‘rural’ areas and frankly, no one is walking there. History shows people rarely get past 5 miles from home.

Since you obviously haven’t been paying attention, prepping is all the rage by housewives and people of all kinds. To claim any one of them is a lone survivalist in a rural setting available for carpet bombing is just plain juvenile...and stupid.

I am pretty sure we haven’t killed hundreds of thousands of foreigners. That’s kind of a liberal viewpoint.

Nice try, but, seriously, go back to your video games.

Without a doubt it is the liberal’s goal to destroy America. What to put in its place they have no idea. They’re just angry little children lashing out without a thought to the consequences.

Good point.

In the past, the Producers vastly outnumbered the moochers, so the touchy-feely creed of “helping” the poor appealed to the elite in “both” of our sorry political parties.

Then the moochers got so numerous that the elite gave them free lunches and thus bought their votes with our tax and debt dollars.

Now the cost and debt of the free lunches is so high that the elites have started to raise money by Nationalizing money-making industries, such as the Medical and insurance industries with Traitor John Roberts’ Obama”care.”

England followed this same path after world War Twice. Fortunately for England the North Sea Oil Field Complex can in at the right time o keep England from following the same fate as Greece of today.

The Silent Majority are now the Taxed Enough Already Party.

The TEA Party foolishly ASSUMED that by sending 89 newly minted Congressmen and women to Congress in 2010, that the DC elites would wean themselves magically from playing to the moochers.

Lesson learned!

Ummmm...there are few differences that MIGHT matter.

For one, we're not a disarmed nation of sheep for free wolf slaughter, like the Chinese.

In America, 19 million folks venture into the woods each fall with scoped rifles during "Operation Opening Day."

Not quite the situation of CHina.

I picked only one of your flubs to highlight, the rest of your thinking is just as foolishly flawed.

Looters loot the Producers to buy votes from the Moochers. It’s a simple as that. And now it’s coming to a head.

It'll get really nasty when the Moochers decide to eliminate the middleman.

Oh, wait -- Trayvon tried that. Fail.

The variable which comes into play for us which has not elsewhere. Impossible to predict how effective it will be. Arms held by non military.

I don’t think the dissident populations in your examples have had the volume of arms that are held by US citizens.

Because of the sheer magnitude of this country and terrain, I think that effective, organized control of the entire country by the military is going to be extremely difficult at best. I’m more inclined to think that we will end up with prolonged chaos more than anything else. The technology dependency will work against the oppressors as well.

It could very easily devolve into a Mad Max scenario. A lot of unpredictability here, but it would be awful beyond anything most people are willing to imagine.

Anyone who is not very frightened right now is not looking rationally at the facts.
