Open Letter to Mitt Romney: We Need you to Start Fighting!

Dear Governor Romney:

We have a problem. Unfortunately the problem seems to be with you and your campaign. Your opponent—despite his now-proven illegal status to even occupy OUR White House—is the sitting president of the United States.

This, of course, gives him almost unlimited resources to squash and destroy—by whatever means necessary—his opponents. As the Obama syndicate could find virtually nothing legitimate with which to destroy you (as he has done to every other opponent against whom he has ever run), his campaign has eagerly chosen to move the their first choice of attack—lies, lies and more lies.

Most precariously, in response to the arguably most despicable and false campaign AD in US history—that of actually calling you a murderer—your campaign leaders had virtually nothing to say except to bring up the health care program when you were Governor of Massachusetts...

To the contrary G W Bush was hopelessly naive, and failed to attack democrats constantly.

G W Bush was the last person in history we want Mitt Romney to learn anything from.

Except (maybe) defending another nation.

Maybe that. Maybe. Bush had many great qualities but he also had several infuriating failures - his failure to go on the political attack when needed (over and over again) was a big no-no.

IMHO.

After the RNC Convention Mitt will come out swinging.

It doesn't take money to stand up for yourself when the media puts a microphone in front of your face.

It doesn't take money to respond to your opponents.

It doesn't take money to accept Mark Levin's invitation to go on his radio program where he could swing with sound bites.

It doesn't take money to go on Rush Limbaugh who has a much bigger audience than CNN could ever dream of. In fact, money could not buy the exposure obtained just being on those two programs.

It doesn't take money to come out swinging at your opponents when you're on Sunday Morning News shows, Greta and Sean Hannity.

It doesn't take money to come out swinging it takes passion, a passion that mysteriously disappeared after he did all the swinging against the Conservatives during the primary.

Well said, but I am afraid a lot of people still do not get it. This is not an election, it is the end of our freedom as we have known it. Wake up!

"It doesn't take money to come out swinging it takes passion, a passion that mysteriously disappeared after he did all the swinging against the Conservatives during the primary. "

Excellent!

Even though I only copied this part of your post which puts it so beautifully truthfully and succinctly, the rest of it 'rocked' as well.

Nail on the head for sure.

Just as 'money doesn't equal class', if the passion was there we'd know it.

It isn't.

Start fighting? Well, good luck with that. I mean with Willard. Romney is just a bland candidate. Sure, he’ll be worlds better than Obama, but only because Obama is so awful. I’ll bet Romney and his minions are wondering why they’re not ahead in the polls with the train wreck of the Obama presidency on view to all. Because you haven’t given people a reason to vote for you Willard..not being Obama is just not enough.

The problem with Mitt starting to fight now is that there’s still no guarantee that Obama will still be the official candidate for the Democratic party. Obama can still walk away from it all.

If Mitt were to start lobbing bombs against Obama, but Obama walks away, that is a while ton of cash and energy that is wasted. Romney has shown himself to be a muslch more astute candidate than we originally gave him credit for.

It wouldn’t surprise me if this is the reason the Romney campaign has been holding back, because I’m sure they’re aware of the possibility as well.

Yesterday I heard Hannity say that Romney has hired some new people who supposedly have the skills to go on offense.

Sounds like a plan, but seeing is believing and what I've seen so far is pretty sad.

The only candidates Romney knows how to beat are conservatives.

I am so tired of this internet meme. As a FReeper you should know better. If you know about campaign rules, which as a FReeper you should, Romney can't touch his campaign warchest until after he is the official nominee, i.e. after the convention.

I am a conservative first, not a Romney person, but I want that communist b@stard out of the White House so bad I can taste it.

Educate yourself and quit calling Romney the second coming of McCain. You just look ignorant of campaign rules making those statements. Plus, it's early. Look for hard hitting stuff AFTER Labor day. That's when it counts. That's when the everyday guy/gal pays attention.

I guess Mittens can’t do much campaigning because he agrees with Obama on 90 percent of the “issues.” And the other 10 percent will just as soon stick with Obama, their secular savior. Butr he can campaign against other Republicans. The Bushes were like that too. They are blinded by their liberalism.

Does anyone actually believe there is a large "undecided" block of voters who will be swayed one way or another? Obama is the most polarizing incumbent in history. Those who support him will excuse him anything. Those who've had enough of the charade have long since tuned him out and are just marking time to November.

The media wants a slug fest of political ads because they want the money associated with that ad stream and the illusion that they are the "forum" for serious political discourse. How 20th century of them.

One thing that G.W. Bush and Karl Rove were very good at was following the old saying, “don’t shoot until you see the whites of their eyes.”

And to this day most Americans believe that Bush's 4.7% unemployment rate was the worst economy since Herbert Hoover.

They think we only went to Iraq for Weapons of Mass Destruction when the primary reasons for going to Iraq were Saddam's ties to terrorists and his constant shooting at our planes enforcing the No Fly Zone.

Bush and Karl Rove's old saying is why today we still hear Obama claiming that "we already tried it their way and it was their way that got us into this mess in the first place"

Under Bush the unemployment rate averaged 4.7% which was described by the democrats (as part of their daily mantra for 6 years) as "the worst economy since Herbert Hoover". And they said that over and over again! Thanks to not shooting until you see the whites of their eyes.” their mantra went unanswered and it was accepted as truth. In 2006 Pelosi and Reid took over Congress. It was then that the economy took its dump and it never came back since then.

Because we don't shoot until we see the whites of their eyes the American people still have no idea that have not tried our way since before 2006!

You know what I think?

They're wearing sunglasses.

They got some great commercials I have seen (on cable not played here) but Romney and his campaign staff and RINO party spokesman(elected Republicans ) come off as very weak and wimpy and un-motivating. It is painful to watch.

Like Romney or not we need an effective opposition party to the the Obama/Reid/Pelosi party. The Obama party seems more and more evil and destructive every day.

OK. Lets go passion.

Let's vote because we “feel” passion.

You bunch of democrats.

Yes, Democrats. That's what they do, they vote “feeling”

You either want obama out or you don't.

Hell, let's be “passionate” and punish this country with another 4 years of obama - that’ll sure teach THEM - won't it?

Let's all glory in our righteousness because we got to be right because we got conscience on our side.

yay, nail Romney to the wall ‘cause he aint one of us.

You know what? I don't care how piss poor Romney is, he's damn sure better than the kenyan.

Ya’ll go on, be righteous..feel Gooooood about yourselves and your morals, and your patriotism.

Go for it~

Educate yourself and quit calling Romney the second coming of McCain.

I'm going to assume you were using my post to rant, otherwise tell it to Hannity or to the author of this open letter or to Rush Limbaugh or any of the many, many others that are too numerous to list here who have voiced the same criticisms.

It may be "early" as you think, but Romney sends me a letter asking me for money EVERY day and I get at least 2-3 emails from him or staff EVERY day asking me for money and support. Romney puts out commercials right now. Romney does interviews, makes speeches and is for some reason is acting like a candidate running for president, even before Labor Day.

As I was saying, seeing is believing and what I see is sad.

As to him being the second coming of McCain, you have that wrong.

He came in second to McCain.

And then McCain lost to the communist bastard who Romney doesn't seem to know how to counter, at least not before Labor Day.

Re: It is painful to watch.

Dry and all business I would imagine.

Surely not like this type of ad... (To this day I wonder how much money the Republican Party had to pay Charles Rangel to do the voice-over)
