If it's Ryan the Republicans will lose big. Practically every one of the 50%+ on government transfer payments of some kind will vote against the Republican ticket.
Depends on what you mean. If hard times end, few will regret leaving food stamps behind. And even those who file no Federal tax are still impacted by such taxes upon others — it raises the prices they have to pay.
There seems to be a serious split on this.
Can someone please summarize what’s really, really bad about Ryan?
Bullsh!t.

If that is the case, the Republic is finished. We can't afford the current entitlement programs, which represent an unfunded liability of over $100 trillion. And this doesn't include welfare programs and other government handouts like food stamps (46 million.) and Medicaid (60 million plus an additional 18 million when Obamacare is fully implemented.)
If the American people can't handle the truth, then the Republic isn't worth saving. We will go the way of Greece. Let the American people have a real choice and then the chips fall where they may. As Mark Steyn wrote, the 2012 Election Is The Last Exit Ramp Before The Death Spiral
Ryan is incredibly articulate and easily explains how and why we need to change entitlements. He also gives credible and fairly pain free ways of doing so.
So what you seem to be saying is that the Republicans should change their platform to embrace the welfare society?
I just came from the Manassas, VA rally. There were plenty of “seasoned” citizens there. HUGE turnout - people are thrilled about Ryan.
The only people there for Obama were paid to be there - a few “Educators for Obama” and some thugs who were bussed in from “elsewhere.”
