New database of US voter fraud finds no evidence that photo ID laws are needed
First of a series of articles, Who Can Vote: a News21 investigation of voting rights in America
By Natasha Khan and Corbin Carson, News21

A new nationwide analysis of 2,068 alleged election-fraud cases since 2000 shows that while fraud has occurred, the rate is infinitesimal, and in-person voter impersonation on Election Day, which prompted 37 state legislatures to enact or consider tough voter ID laws, is virtually non-existent.

In an exhaustive public records search, reporters from the investigative reporting projecdt News21 sent thousands of requests to elections officers in all 50 states, asking for every case of fraudulent activity including registration fraud, absentee ballot fraud, vote buying, false election counts, campaign fraud, casting an ineligible vote, voting twice, voter impersonation fraud and intimidation.

Analysis of the resulting comprehensive News21 election fraud database turned up 10 cases of voter impersonation. With 146 million registered voters in the United States during that time, those 10 cases represent one out of about every 15 million prospective voters.

“Voter fraud at the polls is an insignificant aspect of American elections,” said elections expert David Schultz, professor of public policy at Hamline University School of Business in St. Paul, Minn.

Who cares what this manipulated study says? You need an id to do most commercial transactions in this country. You should have an id for one the most important civic responsibilities you can exercise. If people are too stupid or unable to legally obtain an id, they shouldn’t be voting anyway.

Meanwhile, in Mexico...

"In order to vote, all Mexican citizens must have registered before the election and have obtained a voter’s ID that includes one’s photograph, name, address, fingerprint and age." - Link to PDF document

How can you have a case of ID fraud if you do not check ID?

If there is "no evidence" photo ID is required for voting, then why does anybody have to show an ID when cashing a check, buying liquor or cigarettes, signing a mortgage, getting a traffic stop, entering a secure area, or a host of other reasons people are asked for it every day in the normal course of business?

What's so special about voting that it is singularly excluded? Shouldn't we just take everybody at their word they are honest and are who and what they say they are??

Of course we know the answer. It makes f-r-a-u-d easier for those stealing elections!

Bush vs. Gore/Loserman came down to 537 votes out of 146 million registered voters. That's 0.00037%. Because of advances in marketing technology elections are frequently coming down to 50/50 coin tosses, so yes fraud can have a huge effect.

Democrats aren't the brightest criminals. The cell phone companies already have subscriber location data in their computers. If would be easy to detect if a free Obamaphone traveled to multiple voting places on election day.

“Minnesota Leads the Nation in Voter Fraud Convictions”

ST. PAUL, Minn., Oct. 13, 2011— Minnesota Majority today released a report on voter fraud convictions to date stemming from Minnesota’s 2008 general election. The report finds that 113 individuals who voted illegally in the 2008 election have been convicted of the crime, “ineligible voter knowingly votes” under Minnesota Statute 201.014.

“As far as we can tell, this is the largest number of voter fraud convictions arising from a single election in the past 75 years,” said Minnesota Majority president Jeff Davis, “Prosecutions are still underway and so there will likely be even more convictions.”

If election officials are not checking for voter fraud, it is pretty difficult to find any case of fraud.

If the police are not checking for drivers who are speeding, it is pretty difficult to find any case of speeding.

Given the lengths to which the Democrats are going to defend their anti-ID stance, it alone indicates massive voter fraud.

Absolutely amazing that so many people would attempt ID deceptions while buying liquor, cashing checks, and boarding airplanes, but nobody would ever do it while voting. I guess that just shows how much Americans revere our political process. Probably because we have such inspirational leadership.

Yeah, and it's not like there's anything to be gained by stealing an election, so why bother?

Of course, the idiots who created and analyzed the database are and remain clueless that over 1.8 million DEAD people are still registered to vote.....nope, we don’t need no stinking voter ID requirements, none at all. /s =.=

Without a voter ID requirement there is no way to see voter fraud happening or prove after the fact, thus there no evidence of it.

A Government that sends 23,000 tax refund checks to a SINGLE home address in Fla isn't going have much luck finding voter fraud with the current system.

Absentee ballots sent in mass to mental hospitals and rest homes might be a good place to start looking though.
