’2016: Obama’s America’ Movie Is Disturbingly Necessary
CBS Los Angeles ^ | 8/17/2012 | Scott Paulson

Posted on 08/27/2012 8:27:13 AM PDT by IbJensen

This past week, “2016: The Movie” about President Barack Obama opened in the Chicago area, and I chose to get more of an education about Obama by seeing the movie. After the inundation of canned hype for the movie on conservative talk shows across the Chicago radio dial that sounded more like commercials than honest endorsements of the movie, I was skeptical of what I was going to see.

While some talk show hosts sounded like they were genuinely impressed with the documentary and honestly endorsing the film, there were those who were obviously reading a commercial script which was not coming across as sincere to the regular listener – at least not to this often-skeptical listener. Perhaps, in future promotions of the film, it would be wise to have pre-recorded commercials done by the professional commercial-makers rather than having the likes of Mark Levin and Sean Hannity doing script after script to promote the movie. After all, the listeners aren’t stupid and resent any attempt at being conned. After many reads by the talk show hosts, the readings of the commercial script were no more enthusiastic than another Life-Lock commercial read – another commercial that ought to be professionally done.

Yet, I’m glad I saw the hyped-film because it was more informative than I had thought it would be and included less propaganda than I had predicted. If anything, it was nearly too informative as there was an enormous amount of information condensed into the nearly one-hour-and-a-half documentary. Fact after fact is put forth which shows that President Obama definitely has many skeletons in the closet that have not been released prior to the nation’s trust in him with the Oval Office.

To watch this movie and realize – or simply be reminded of – all that is unknown about President Obama is of concern. Much of the information has been ignored by the American media totally. When appropriately reminded as to what is still unknown about Obama to date, one has to ask: How can any logical-thinking person give a damn about Romney’s taxes while not asking any questions regarding our current president’s past?

The man influences the entire globe, but liberal Americans want to know how much Mitt Romney paid in taxes in the past rather than learn about the man who they have entrusted with the country. Unbelievable.

The movie undeniably links Obama to persons of suspicious-interest due to their past actions and statements, such as former radical activist and Chicago educator Bill Ayers. While the media and blinded-liberals cast such facts aside, the movie does not. No, this portion of the movie is not propaganda – it is the display of factual information about relationships between people that cannot be denied. Yet, the “left” does deny the facts that are right in front of them.

Quite disturbing is the talk of the United States economy in the film. The current national debt which has increased two-fold during Obama’s presidency and the horrendous economy is suggested to be part of the plan to strip the nation of democracy – reasonable cause to make citizens totally dependent on the government. The “left” is aghast at this suggestion of the current economy. They actually believe that Obama is unintelligent enough to let this economy just happen. Ironically, it’s many of the people on the “right” who know Obama’s not stupid, and much of what has happened to the United States in the past four years is part of Obama’s plan.

How could one so-highly educated and intelligent as Obama not know what he was doing when he incurred such debt? I left the movie thinking more strongly than I had in the past that the current debt and this economy was part of Obama’s plan all along. Increasingly making Americans dependent on the government is the plan. What’s more, he knew his blind followers would believe it was not the plan and, of course, was all Bush’s fault.

He must be laughing at his blind followers all the way to the “new America” they’re allowing him to create. My belief is that Obama continues to prey on his die-hard followers’ stupidity to accomplish his personal goals for America.

The most disturbing part of the film to me was the interview with President Obama’s half-brother George Obama from Nairobi, Kenya. How can Obama claim to want to help people when he has done absolutely nothing for his own family? It makes me wonder if he really cares about anybody if he can’t find it in his heart to help his own family.

As the closing credits started to role upward across the screen, the audience applauded. Me, I just walked out – reasonably upset.

Those who have already decided to vote for Obama will probably not even see the movie. It’s sad but they probably don’t want to know the truth when it is laid out so clearly for them in this documentary. The independents who are still deciding who they are going to vote for ought to see this film. I’m quite confident that any undecided voter who sees this film will know who to vote for after viewing this documentary. If you know you’re not going to support the “left” in this coming election, see the film out of interest if you like. But, fair warning, it’s disturbing – and quite frightening – to say the least.

A lot of the left wingers who support Obama are not blind to his motives. They are nihilistic destroyers who want to see the US system brought down. To call them "fooled" is naive. They are willing. They want to create "a better world" - unfortunately when you want to do that using government force innocents get trampled or worse.

When Senator Obama told the Washington Post interview that he went to American flag burnings, I knew this man belongs in jail, not the oval office.

“It makes me wonder if he really cares about anybody...”

I genuinely do not believe he cares about anybody, other than himself. I have never seen him exhibit it. I have never really seen him ‘joyful’ or ‘sad’. The media sees this and glefully calls him ‘Spock’. I call him cold blooded.

As an example. Jeremiah Wright was a surrogate father to Obama...and Barry threw him away like used toilet paper. He never really ‘cared’ for Wright.

“They want to create “a better world”

Some are just misguided and probably have this motivation. Many, however, are driven by other factors, including:
1) Envy and the desire to bring down others.
2) Dependency on the system and a desire to keep freebies from the government flowing.
3) Racism - including those who want lax immigration policies to allow a rapid shift in demographics.
4) Women who for one reason or another resent men, and those who want to promote and continue policies that given them advantages over men.
5) Those who only look at the surface and truly believe that he’s a ‘reasonable’ nice guy with good intentions.

I take it that Scott Paulson is some sort of blogger, who is a CBS/LA token conservative. Still, it's a bit surprising that they would post this. I don't suppose they actually aired it on TV.

Scott Paulson writes political news and commentary for CBS Local and Examiner.com and teaches English at a community college in the Chicago area.

A community college in the Chicago area, eh? He'd better watch his back.

CBS LA???? Wow!

This article needs to be posted on as many forums on the Internet as possible. It is a hard, cold and sober look at Obama, done by a someone writing for CBS who realizes the harm the media has caused his country by failing to INVESTIGATE--as the Fourth Estate of a Free Republic must--to ensure that the Republic remains free!

God bless Mr. Paulson for writing this, and may the truth of his words reach as many people as possible!

I'm glad Paulson woke up and smelled the coffee. Hopefully, there will be others like them. The media's complicity in the incredible con that is the 0bama presidency is nothing less than treason.

The movie undeniably links Obama to persons of suspicious-interest due to their past actions and statements, such as former radical activist and Chicago educator Bill Ayers.

How on earth can he gloss over Frank Marshall Davis?! (Communist Party card # 47544)

And one of D'Souza's interviewees makes the point Americans didn't know Obama in 2008, and didn't WANT to know him.

They were simply mesmerized, and developed a tight emotional bond with him, the breakage of which to this day seems to be difficult for them.

America has no excuses this time. This electorate has seen Obama's game and if he's reelected, it's proof once and for all they've been sufficiently conditioned to fully accept a dominant, intrusive federal government as a fact of life. America will be a bona-fide socialist country.

I saw the movie.

It was pretty good; and, I saw a few things I had not seen before.

The theater was 80% full....all the people I saw were perfectly normal everyday people, over 40 years old. I don’t think anybody who has been hopenytized will go see it...this is going to be an enthusiasm/turnout election, because its hard to convince BO voters they were wrong.

BTW, I think its telling that liberals won’t see this movie...they just don’t want to know anything about Barry. Its hands on ears and ‘la la la I can’t hear you’. I went to see Michael Moore’s anti-Bush piece, just out of curiousity (although my ticket sale was credited to some Will Smith movie).

It is certainly possible to have a patriotic liberal. Having a patriotic progressive is a stretch as the dilution of national identity and power is part and parcel with their ideaolgy. I am splitting hairs perhaps but the distinction is obvious when you compare progressive John Kerry and liberal Joe Liberman.

And in 2008 they were busy rummaging around trash bins in Wasilla to find dirt on Sarah Palin.

Curious thing about this movie: The reaction from the left.

Total silence.

Not loud attacks, not shrill attempts to claim it as untrue.

They just want it to go away. But it won't go away. Because it is true, because so much of it is in Commandante Zero's own words, and there's nothing the left can say to refute it.

The word of mouth on this picture after this last weekend is staggering. People who thought they were going to see “right-wing propaganda” leave the theater shaken.

It's easy for FReepers to say “I told you so” because we knew these things about Barry in 2008. The rest of American is just waking up, and they're shocked at what they just found out. These people realize they have been duped, they realize that they've been had.

And they're going to be angry.

The author seems to have skipped what I think was the primary thing that I got out of the movie, Obama’s motivation. Maybe I'm wrong but I think D’Souza was making the case that Obama is attempting to follow throw on the dreams of his father of throwing off white imperialism. D’Souza seemed to contrast his life story of having grown up in British dominated India with Obama and his father's experience growing up under white British imperialist oppression in Kenya. The funny thing is that Obama seems to be out to bring the U.S. low, but the U.S. never was an imperialist nation and actually was begun as just the opposite. The U.S. more than any other country has had a merit system that allowed more people to rise without being locked into a class. Even the election of Obama seems to support that case. So what Obama seeks to lay low is the one place where what his father endured was least likely to happen. What's funny too is that some African Americans sympathize with him, but they have nothing in common. Obama’s ancestry were never slaves in America. Obama is foreign.

Amusing note:

Someone speculated that they would not be surprised if some leftist lunatic showed up in a theater showing 2016 with the idea of shooting up the crowd.

Someone else immediately countered that they imagined the audience attending the movie would not be defenseless, and that the kook would be walking into a place with more guns than a crowded police bar during happy hour.
