Speculation is mounting that Texas Rep. Ron Paul will mount a third party bid for the presidency as pressure from his supporters builds ahead of his appearance Tuesday night on NBC’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
According to a report, Paul’s supporters were deeply upset by how the libertarian Texas Representative was treated at the Republican National Convention last week. 300 of them joined in a conference call on Sunday night planning to urge Paul to launch a last-minute independent bid for the White House.
In order for Paul to appear on the ballot in all 50 states, he would have to join the Libertarian party’s ticket — either as former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson’s running mate or as his replacement. The party’s present vice presidential nominee, Jim Gray, would have to drop out of the race.

With Goode on the ballot in Virginia and now this. Can we say 4 more years of Obama? These people are more interested in themselves than the country.
The GOPe should have known that not everyone would get back on the plantation after they bought the election.
Ron Paul is certifiable.
But we really knew these peeps (Occupy) were already for him. This was all planned. Nancy embraced it......to split the ticket.

Uhhm, can he even get on the ballot at this point? I was under the impression that several states were starting early voting in a couple week, so the ballots have already been printed.
I can only appeal to the sane ones- but the other couple dozen are only hurting themselves.
Ron Paul has some legitimate issues- Romney has already called for an audit of the Fed, IIRC.
Nothing left amounts to a hill of beans in the current landscape, IMHO.

Ron Paul would help usher in another four years of obama because he couldn’t get votes to win the pub nomination.

Quite honestly I think Ron Paul might take more votes from Obama than Romney...
I highly doubt it, but it would be excellent if Paul ran 3rd party. Paultards never had any intention of voting for the Republican nominee no matter who it was. They are not Republicans or conservatives and they hated all of our primary candidates other than their loopy leader. Most of the paulbots I knew in 2008 ended up voting for Obama or Libertarian - and they are going to do the same thing this time around. If Paul runs 3rd party, he will take far more votes from Obama than he will Romney.
A great many of the Paul folks, in this area are either not registered to vote, at all, or not registered as Republicans.
No, a Ron Paul run would not be a good thing, but I think most of his followers would not go for Romney, anyway.

Rand Paul is finished, for any VP or Presidential bid, ever, if Ron Paul does this.
Goode didn’t run in the GOP primary did he? If he didn’t pretend to be a Republican then I have no problem with him running. Paul ran in the GOP primary, aren’t there states that won’t allow him to run in the primary on another ticket?
