The murder of U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens in Libya on Wednesday is the direct consequence of President Obama’s weakness as a leader. His administration’s support of Islamist uprisings across the Middle East have led to a destabilized region where radical anti-Americanism is running rampant. The images being transmitted across the planet today give a glimpse of what the world looks like absent strong U.S. leadership in international affairs: Rioting mobs ripping down the American flag from our embassy in Cairo and a diplomat’s brutalized body being dragged through the streets of Benghazi. These are not isolated incidents but the predictable result of four years of Mr. Obama meekly trying to “lead from behind.”
Machiavelli famously wrote that it “is much safer to be feared than loved.” For most of the past century, the United States has pursued consistent policies so Washington didn’t have to choose between the two and simultaneously generated feelings of love for the freedom we espoused and fear for the consequences of raising our ire. The loyalty shown to Americans by nations freed from communist oppression behind the Iron Curtain is an example of the respect our country gained by consistently standing against tyranny anywhere in the world.
Libya in the 1980s is a perfect example of the respect gained by making evildoers pay the price for provoking the most powerful nation on Earth. After Americans were killed in terrorist attacks in Europe, more than 30 U.S. warplanes were launched to hammer targets in Tripoli and Benghazi. Hellfire poured down on military targets and command centers holding those responsible for backing the terrorists who caused the American deaths.

And I do not think people love this guy they elected 4 years ago nearly as much now.
When you’re dealing with a supremacist worldview,
there is no “be nice to them and they’ll leave you alone” policy that will work.

And as America gets weaker under Obama, who is disarming us. They dream of killing millions of us.

We were told that America was not respected in the world because of the allegedly reckless policies of Bush. We were told lots of things by liberals, but they centered around how America would be loved and respected in the world again because of Obama.
Obama did his outreach to the Arab/Muslim world. He supported Arab Spring.
Against this backdrop, we see the Muslim radicals are taking over these countries involved in Arab spring revolutions. Obama praised these movements as steps towards freedom and democracy in these countries, as they overthrew dictatorial regimes.
Instead, we see that these countries are evolving into Muslim dictatorships instead. And, clearly there is no love or respect for America in these places, even after Obama supported their revolutions.
So, against this backdrop, and the events of yesterday, it’s worth asking if Obama knows what he is doing. Does he understand what’s happening in that part of the world? Does he understand that in spite of his best efforts, America is no more respected in the world than when the “evil” Bush was president?
Does he understand that you can’t appease these Al Qaeda types???????
Evil advances much easier when evil is in charge.

Jimmy Carter's presidency was doomed by the Iranian hostage crisis after the US embassy in Tehran was stormed by Islamist extremists following the Iranian revolution.
