CBS POLL: GOP HAS HUGE TURNOUT EDGE OVER DEMS

Mike Flynn

One of the chief reasons the media is so mistaken in their zeal to proclaim Obama the election winner is that most of the polls they're basing their predictions on are wildly inflating Democrat turnout. The overwhelming majority of media polls are assuming an electorate that is at least as Democrat as the one in 2008, with many polls assuming a higher Democrat turnout. This is just daft. The latest CBS poll of 3 swing states is the most recent to show that GOP has a huge turnout advantage over Democrats.

.......

Yesterday, CBS/NYT released its latest Quinnipiac poll of Colorado, Virginia and Wisconsin. With the exception of CO, the polls had heavy Democrat skews, so the head-to-head match-ups aren't particularly informative. What was telling though was the differences in enthusiasm between the two parties.

In all three states, a majority of Republicans say they are more enthusiastic about voting this year, compared to about a third of Democrats who are. In Colorado and Virginia, GOP voters are more enthusiastic than Democrats by a 15 point margin. In Wisconsin, GOP enthusiasm outpaces Democrats by 16 points.

Particularly interesting is that GOP voters have become more enthusiastic about voting in the past month.

I think that is a part of it as well as trying to demoralize us and keep Republican turn out low.

who the heck is that guy???

The most interesting thing about the man who plays the Most Interesting Man in the World, in those TV ads for Dos Equis beer, is that he is interesting, too, perhaps even superlatively so. His name is Jonathan Goldsmith. He’s the one who says, in a Spanishy accent, at the end of each spot,

“I don’t always drink beer, but when I do I prefer Dos Equis.”

What makes his Most Interesting Man character interesting, besides a preference for spirits, is other traits invented for him by copywriters:

At museums, he’s allowed to touch the art. . . .
His blood smells like cologne. . . .
Sharks have a week dedicated to him. . . .
He once had an awkward moment, just to see how it feels. . . .
The police often question him, just because they find him interesting.

It's not daft. It's about challenging the legitimacy of the elections. If Obama was "winning" by 6 to 10 percent and the vote count says he lost, it must have been fraud. This is just like claims of the Supreme Court "stealing" the election for Bush. The far left fringe wants our country to be ungovernable for conservatives, and the pattern of lies will help to make that happen.

The national debt is 16 trillion dollars that is an unfathomable amount to informed people. To the idiots that vote for Obama they have no clue how much money that really is, and I do everything I can to inform them that raising taxes and fiddling around the edges that Obama wants to do will not even keep pace with the spending increases projected over the next four years. Even Romney is not really talking about how drastic this situation is but I know that he will at least give us hope that we can restore some fiscal sanity.... Obama didn’t even know what the national debt was when he was on Lettermen last night, he simply doesn’t care, his own CJCS Adm Mullen said “The number one national security threat is the debt” and Obama is clueless, this idiot is in way over his head.

Reminds me of my favorite college application:
This is an essay written by Hugh Gallagher when applying to New York University. He graduated from NYU in May 1994.

Are there any significant experiences you have had, or accomplishments you have realised, that have helped to define you as a person?

I am a dynamic figure, often seen scaling walls and crushing ice. I have been known to remodel train stations on my lunch breaks, making them more efficient in the area of heat retention. I translate ethnic slurs for Cuban refugees, I write award-winning operas, I manage time efficiently. Occasionally, I tread water for three days in a row.

I woo women with my sensuous and god-like trombone playing. I can pilot bicycles up severe inclines with unflagging speed, and I cook Thirty-Minute Brownies in 20 minutes. I am an expert in stucco, a veteran in love and an outlaw in Peru.

Using only a hoe and a large glass of water, I once single-handedly defended a small village in the Amazon Basin from a horde of ferocious army ants. I play bluegrass cello...I am the subject of numerous documentaries. When I'm bored, I build large suspension bridges in my yard. I enjoy urban hang-gliding. On Wednesdays, after school, I repair electrical appliances free of charge.

I am an abstract artist, a concrete analyst, and a ruthless bookie. Critics worldwide swoon over my original line of corduroy evening wear. I don't perspire, I am a private citizen, yet I receive fan mail...Last summer I toured New Jersey with a travelling centrifugal force demonstration...My deft floral arrangements have earned me fame in international botany circles. Children trust me.

I can hurl tennis rackets at small moving objects with deadly accuracy. I once read Paradise Lost, Moby Dick, and David Copperfield in one day and still had time to refurbish an entire dining room that evening. I have performed several covert operations for the CIA. I sleep once a week; when I do sleep, I sleep in a chair. While on vacation in Canada, I successfully negotiated with a group of terrorists who had seized a small bakery. The laws of physics do not apply to me.

I balance, I weave, I dodge, I frolic, and my bills are all paid. On weekends, to let off steam, I participate in full-contact origami. Years ago, I discovered the meaning of life but forgot to write it down. I have made extraordinary four-course meals using only a mouli and a toaster oven. I breed prize-winning clams. I have won bullfights in San Juan, cliff-diving competitions in Sri Lanka, and spelling bees at the Kremlin. I have played Hamlet, I have performed open heart surgery, and I have spoken with Elvis. But I have not yet gone to college.

I just heard a snippet of a speech from today with him mauling Obama for the redistribution quote. The crowd was into it and started booing, it was really cool.
In addition, Romney was on fire today! I’ve never seen him look more determined then he does now and couldn’t have come at a better time.

I wish, just once, they’d do a poll to discover how many of us want to impale as many so-called “journalists” as we can catch on sharpened six foot high bamboo saplings.

I absolutely love every line of that...yet am somewhat concerned that I focused mostly on "I participate in full-contact origami".

I guess it brought out strange visuals for me...dunno!

November 6th: THE ultimate poll!

I've often said, "there are no undecideds on election day." Or at least those who don't vote, don't count.

I have no doubt that the media’s recent pile-on of Romney for actually saying some of the most conservative stuff he’s ever said (free speech vs. Islam, the welfare state) is increasing Republican enthusiasm. Republicans were BEGGING for a conservative dragonslayer they could get behind to vanquish Obama. We really want to defeat him. But Romney is so uninspiring it’s been hard to get enthusiastic. So when he says things that even make him sound slightly more conservative, Republicans are going to enhance that with a whole lot of wishful thinking projection. If only Romney could shift to the right in a less wobbly fashion and stay there, he would win in a landslide, just as Reagan did in 1980.

It’s right to be nervous.

Incumbent presidents usually win reelection because voters basically give them the benefit of the doubt to try again.

That said, I think the level of anger will really help Romney this year. At the same time, he needs to present an alternative. From what it sounds like, he is preparing to do just that with an ad blitz in a few weeks as well as coming out strong with his economic plans.
