Or better yet, take a page out of Newt’s book and humiliate the moderators. I remember when Newt got that standing ovation during the South Carolina GOP debate:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SijidSC1Quw

THIS will generate the enthusiasm that Romney needs to win.

Romney needs to gain control of the debate right away. The questions will be skewed in Obama’s favor. Mitt needs to reframe the question, answer it quickly and then go on the offensive with his own related question, prefacing it with something like “A better question would be....” or “Perhaps you should ask Mr. Obama....”. Even if the moderator admonishes Mitt for asking his own questions, the damage will already be done and Obama will be on his heels.

Romney should say his policy is to stimulate economic growth by lowering the tax burden on the private sector, eliminating growth-killing regulations, and getting more American’s back to work and out of the choom wagon.

I say offer Obama and his supporters an olive branch for the unfair treatment given to him by the birthers by making this promise to Obama and his supporters and not breaking the promise...

"when I move into the White House the new attorney general will initiate a thorough and complete investigation in order to clarify to the American people that Barack Obama was indeed eligible and was the legitimate President of these United States. Such an investigation is only fair to not only President Obama and his legacy but also to the American people. I'm sure that the results of this investigation will provide proof that President Obama was indeed legitimately the President of the United States.

However, if by some chance the accusations turn out to be correct, there is a promise that anybody in Congress whether they be republican or democrat will be legally held accountable and justice will be served for any wrong doing and illegal activity. Let that be a warning to the leaders of Congress who have taken the oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America."

Make fun of his big ears....oh never mind.

Unless Romney STOPS being a wimp and STOPS treating obama like a in guy over his head and STOPS being the nice guy - he wont win anything.
He should pretend obama is a conservative and treat him like he treats conservatives.

Mitt needs to look straight into the camera and say “For the past 3 years President Obama has submitted a Budget for this country that NO ONE in his OWN party has voted for, so now he’s asking all of America to vote for 4 MORE years of this?

Say "You betcha alot". And wink.

Seriously, This debate is about domestic issues. Romney needs to let Obama talk about his current plan for the economy and then say. That is the same "plan" you had in 2008. It didn't work and it wont work.

My advice: Let the “pros” manage the process. The Romney team is not going to consult with this board regarding debate strategy.

If the mental masturbation gives you a warm feeling...go for it.

Otherwise...let’s tune in tonight and see what Mitt and the team have planned.

Agree with all that you said.
Empty words like “We need to....” or “I will put Americans back to work..” without saying HOW, are meaningless.
We need to hear some specifics.

And Romney needs to use his “man parts” after he grows a pair. He needs to HAMMER Obama on ALL his failures. If there is not time for that, pick 3 big ones-

-Obamacare and the way its TAXES will hit the middle class and GUT Medicare and the current SPIKE in insurance that we are all experiencing NOW due to Obamacare.

-Fast and Furious

-Bengazi and Obama’s FAILURE to deal with terrorism.

I agree, bring up gas prices and why Obama is to blame.

Also, parents want their kids out of the house paying their own college loans off with a real job - this will connect to women.

This is a small one..but it could resonate..ask Obama why he has avoided holding a press conference, yet has found the time to sit down with local weirdos..i.e. “pimp with a limp”..this should make Lehrer pay attention..

My advice: Let the “pros” manage the process. We can only hope - but sometimes we give the pros too much credit - like the pros who were supposed to protect our embassies.

Mitt Romney needs to define his own policies and explain them in detail so that the American people understand them

With due respect, I do not think you could be more wrong. Worrying about policy details is a left brained type B bureaucratic liberal mindset from the outset.

Besides - there is NO WAY to do that. Anyone who can "understand" them is already a Romney supporter OR a hard core leftist Obama supporter. Broad themes, liberty versus big government, is all he can do, and all he needs to do.

Obama is much more limited in this debate than Romney. But Obama has the moderator bias in his favor.

Obama is limited because he must stick with a strict set of talking points...Bush did it, things are much worse than I thought, blah, blah, blah.

We know Obama cannot freely speak about who he is and what he rally wants to do. He may very well end up sounding like a scripted dummy.

Romney, while not perfect, has a career, character and true American spirit he can express without being covert.

Romney...for God's sake...do not respond to the moderators or B.O. Look directly into the camera and address the American people! Deflect their stupid gotcha questions! Tell us what we need to hear...not what the moderators want to hear.

Over the course of the debate I predict Romney will appear gracious, intelligent, sincere, strong and prepared.

Obama will be revealed as shallow, petulant and boring.
