Obama's Rope-a-Dope?
Original Content | 10/04/12 | Jdsteel

President Obama may not be as skilled an orator as he is thought to be by the media, but he is not as inept as he came across in the first debate. I believe he purposefully stumbled. The stammering, the lack of focus, at one point bumping the microphone were in my opinion a carefully constructed act. I believe he is trying to set the stage for a knock-out punch to his opponent in the next debate. From now until then the media will focus on Obama and his need to have a strong showing. If I am right the question is will Romney be prepared?

Dennis Miller said nobama must have thought he had a belt-buckle teleprompter.

Absolutely. He is lost without the teleprompter.

you know I think the poster as well as many of us are stunned and cannot believe what happened last night. It was so fine to see O exposed , something I was afraid would never happen.

It is hard to believe that the army of protectors will allow this to happen and it makes me fear what they will do to resurrect this lame dunce, this mean, small malevolent man.

I feel tons better this morning!

Obama is an empty suit. We had to rely of Valeri Jerrett to tell us he is the smartest person who has ever been president. Smart people do have to have surrogates go out convince others he is as smart as they want us to believe. He has spent almost 2 years campaigning for reelection so he can pretend to govern. 104 excursions to the golf courses. Hoops, parties, vacations,...he has not governed. He has preteneded.

The problem with that strategy is that the Romney team already knows that they play dirty and will be ready for it.
Also, it would be plain and obvious to many people what they are up to and they will over play their hand and look bad.

I was fairly high up the corporate ladder in the nineties and sat in on a good number of meetings with 'C' level execs from various corporations. I've been out of that world for a decade but watching Romney last night brought me back.

I'm fairly bright and proud of my achievements but I was almost always impressed with the way these guys played way above the rim. I used to sit back, keep quiet, listen, watch and learn.

That said, the better I got to know a few of these guys the more I realized that everybody is an expendable tool. The adoption of this attitude is a necessary evil of any complex, results oriented, large organization in business, the military or politics.

“Mr. Romney, tell us what you will do to stop the escalating violence caused by Isreal to the poor Palestinians who were thrown out of their homeland. You have 60 seconds.” ......

Romney : " I haven't been elected president ...... yet, that's a question for the current President.... next question ? "

Turns out maybe he really needed those brain cells that have gone missing from TAKING dope. I doubt if he was trying to fail and succeeded at that.

Interesting concept.

Play the dumb ass for over 50 years just so he can win a debate against Romney.

I don't watch dumb down debate formats so did not see last night's festivities, but from reading what occurred, Obama’s problem in the next debate is whether or not Obummer can hide an ear piece well enough.

Off the teleprompter, “The One” is just simply lost. All you need to do when exposing a figure head/liar is will and facts. Something GHB did not have against Clinton, ditto Dole and McCain (Who should of exposed Obama’s Senate record and put him on the defense).

In the time leading up to the next debate(s) and the debate, they will over play their hand and it will look desperate and it will be so obvious for all to see... therefore they will lose and look bad.

I think he may prepare better, but claiming this is a rope a dope to showcase his great accomplishments foreign policy while he has been helping the muzzie world burn, rage, pillage, and kill is slightly deranged.

The next debate isn't foreign policy, it's a "Town Hall" where a collection of undecided idiots selected by Gallup ask the questions on either foreign or domestic policy.

If there isn't some effort to prioritize foreign policy questions or ask for half domestic and half foreign questions, I'd be very surprised if it isn't 90%+, or even 100%, domestic, and the entire debate could go by without Libya being asked about.

Your average "undecided" nitwit doesn't have the slightest interest in foreign policy other than the most simplistic isolationism.

maybe 0 took a dive because, despite the perks, he doesn’t want to be president next year when the economy crashes.

Even if he doesn't want to be president, his narcissism would not allow him to stand there and take an @ss whoopin like that. It's more likely, he started believing his own press and underestimated Romney. O was not prepared.

Something just occured to me that’s worth a shot...

Any Freepers on Long Island or in NYC, if they’re polled by Gallup in the next two weeks, should lie and claim to be undecided - might have a chance to sneak into the Town Hall and ask a question.

Romney better be ready, next time Obama will attack and throw the kitchen sink at Romney. Also, the VP debate has potential catastrophe for the Dems with gaffe-o-matic Biden.

I think you are correct in that obumbler will come back at Romney with a vengeance.

That can work two ways. A good fighter can use anger to fight a better fight.

But obumbler is Narcissistic. An egomaniac. So I am betting that he will lose his temper and leave himself open to a knockout punch.

I have been watching the left wing media. They all agree that Obama lost big. This surprised me. I expected Romney to win, but I also expected the media to declare Obama the winner.

What if Romney is so far ahead in the internal, real, polls, that insiders know Obama doesn't have a chance, debate or no. What if the media know that they have been screwing the polls, know that they have been called on it, and know that the people believe they have been lying with polls? How can they get their reputation back?

First, they have to start easing the polls toward Romney. Politico had a poll out yesterday that showed Romney up by 4 in swing states. Next, they have to have a 'reason' for Obama to start dropping in the polls, or it will look like they have been lying and are 'fixing' the polls to reflect the reality on election day. Here is the reason: Romney won the debate big time. Obama drops in the polls because of that and not because the polls were lying before. A tiny molecule of MSM reputation may be saved.
