Saturday Night Live Cold Opening: Town Hall Debate

Notice the continued disinformation campaign.
“act of terror” in the skit is “act of terrorism”
Wasn’t particularly funny although I did like that the “undecided voters” were presented as doofuses and Tom Hanks was an unexpected surprise
I do not like the current gentleman who plays President Obama on SNL (Jay Pharoah). I much prefered Fred Armisen. The skit on the Chinese debt (”before you do SEX TO ME!!”) is probably one of the funniest in SNL’s long history
Fred Armisen, in that sketch had President Obama’s tone, accent and mannerism down pat
I’m curious what you found funny in this skit.
I thought that besides being one-sided from the get-go, it was almost painfully lame in writing and delivery.
“I thought that besides being one-sided from the get-go, it was almost painfully lame in writing and delivery.”
Pretty much describes decades of SNL.
Agree completely. SNL rewrote the information so as to prop up the Bamster. Wasn’t funny either.
What I noticed was how they had Romney bragging about how rich he is. They always manage to get their little political points in. I thought the questioners in the audience were hilarious.
I agree. You would think that SNL could look at their MOST popular skits on Hulu and quickly figure out that people love the most politically incorrect ones like the abovementioned “DO SEX TO ME!!” or the classic Sean Connery on Jeopardy (”WHORE like your mother and SEMEN”. “No! Mr. Connery, that is HORSEMEN!”)
BTW, Fred Armisen is of mixed Asian/white ancestery
Unfortunately, I found it unfunny enough to tune out. Missed Hanks altogether.
But when it comes to affirmative action, Asians are treated worse than whites!
Tom Hanks as the last questioner was a real hoot!
There were some moments in this skit that did make me laugh out loud, but it is really unfair the way they completely turn Romney into a crazy man. I believe they would be more funny if they would not be so obviously biased.
Tom hanks though — I was weeping. That was hilarious. Even when he finally got to his “question” it was hilarious! It was almost as if he weren’t a lib!
I thought armisen was South American and Japanese.
Really, I was just waiting for Romney to say he could see Russia from his back porch.
The one who played Candy was terrible too.
What is it with SNL being scared to death of calling out Bam?
You didn’t miss much, Mach...and I disagree that Hanks was funny. Libs don’t know real humor. What WAS funny was how stupid some of the real questioners came across at the last debate.
I mean, what does it take to memorize or at least practice your one line delivery? Why do they need to rattle and fumble a piece of paper and look like Columbo...and then still mess up and sound like a four year old?
He is of Japanese and German heritage. His mom was a German Venezuelan (Venezuela is full of Germans). His dad was half German and half Japanese
That is an absolute fact.
There are higher negative quotas against Asians than whites in almost all the states when it comes to University placements
