ELECTION DAY November 6, 2012 ***LIVE THREAD I***
FREE REPUBLIC!!! | 11-6-12 | Free Republic

Posted on 11/06/2012 3:18:47 AM PST by RKBA Democrat

The polls are open on the east coast!!

From this morning's election day prayer thread:

"Heavenly Father may you forgive this nation and its people for the many awful sins that we have commited against you. We do not deserve the wonderful ways we have been blessed and please forgive us for our indifference, neglect and complacency towards you. May you forgive us who are members of your Church who have neglected our calling and commitment to you to be effective witnesses and stewards of the many blessings you have generously bestowed upon us. Many of us have cried out to you for the past few years as never before and we humbly beseech you to bring an overwhelming, crushing defeat on the forces of darkness in our nation. First we pray that you quicken your Church by your spirit and lead us to unity to stand against the onslaught of darkness upon us. May you smash every crooked deed as evil men and women try to hold onto power and may this be so convincing that everyone knows that your hand is in this. Then we may bring the light of your Gospel to our people who do not know you and to the nations of the world.

May you block and undo every policy and piece of legislation they have passed that is harmful to this nation. May you make every policy they make fail and may you turn the hearts of the multitudes against them. May you thwart every evil deed they try to divide this nation with. May you bring their own mischief upon them ten fold. May you punish those in our government who are lawless traitors and enemies of the Constitution by exposing them and deliver them into our hands for justice. However we also pray that through this that you open their eyes to the truth and in your mercy that you bring these people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ to serve as a witness to many. May you also use this to bring revival across our nation and a restoration of a culture that glorifies You. We also pray for those just leaders in our government who are struggling against the lawless. We pray for your protection and that you embolden them to do what is right to triumph in the election and in the arena of ideas. May you also continue to open the hearts and minds of the American people to the the truth and draw them towards yourself to be renewed in repentance and spiritual rebirth.

And this we humbly ask in Jesus name. AMEN!"

My little town of 700, here in North Idaho, is not exactly a bellwether - but it’s the first time I’ve ever gone to our fire station to vote and there was a line. In fact, the line was so long there was about a half-hour wait so I decided to come back after work.

Yep, Romney wasn't my first, second, or third choice, but I confess to warming up to him, esp. during the debates.

Romney will be a good President.

Eye woted, as our friends the Austrians would say. In Austrian, of course. At the same time I remembered that I forgot to show up for jury duty yesterday. Dang me! At the polling place which was located inside a grammar school library, I was genuinely shocked to see female and unwhite people voting, has something changed recently? Roseanne Barr was on the presidential ballot, and I hope she wins IF, IF Romney loses, we’d all rather have a fat idiot lesbo there than a committed marxist, no? The ballot was four pages long, primitive method of voting this year by connecting lines using a borrowed pen, a whole load of propositions, state, county, city. I came unprepared this time, because last time, when I had prepared, the next day I couldn’t remember how I voted for any of the propositions. And a note to those who are quick and angry to correct anyone saying the word “democracy” with the word “republic”, as if there was a pure democracy anywhere in the world: what are these ballots with a dozen plus propositions if not pure democracy?! The half filled out four pages were at last inserted into a box with a sign that said “scanner”, and had a LED counter on top. I asked the fellow who was stuffing my pages while sneaking looks at how I woted if the box instantly transmitted the results to somewhere out there. He only replied: “That lady over there!” In the meantime, a hot looking babe walked in dressed in a miniskirt. I saw her from the back. When she turned I saw that she was an old, old hag. Afterwards, before leaving, I picked up an oval sticker saying something in Chinese.

I live in a town of 10K or so in CT. Not sure how many registered voters. Went McCain in 08. In 08 had a total of 5,066 votes cast. When I voted at 1:15 almost 3K ballots cast according the scan machine.

No line outside the building at the time, but had to wait about 20 minutes inside.

This is very interesting.....In CO, Mitt Romney is on pace to win Adams Co. A county that hasn’t been won by the GOP since 1984.

NASA astronauts Leroy Chiao, Edward Michael Fincke and Greg Chamitoff have all voted while aboard the International Space Station thanks to a bill passed in 1997 by Texas legislatures. The bill sets up a technical procedure for astronauts — nearly all of whom live in Houston — to vote from space.

Current station Commander Suni Williams, a Florida resident, voted via absentee ballot before departing for her duties as part of Expedition 32 on the International Space Station.

things to note:

If exit polling indicates Romney is greatly exceeding the share of the white vote that went to McCain, that will be a sign that he is winning.

Ohio - the vote in Hamilton County, which Obama and Bush both won, will be a good sign about who takes that state.

The more I see, hear and research about Mitt Romney, I have to admit, the more I like the man and can see he is clearly a good man of character.

I have a feeling he is going to be better than many think, and might even be comparable to Calvin Coolidge.

Oh, and I forgot to say, there is an expression in Italian (which I don’t remember as I don’t speak Italian) that says “17 from behind, 70 from the front” for just that sort of woman! Lol!

Monitoring hillbuzz.org but am at work and cannot followup. This is an interesting tidbit ... what do you make of this? Is it true?

You know what’s weird?

Obama might have voted twice for himself.

Did anyone catch this?

MSNBC is reporting that he voted in Chicago today…but a few days ago I heard he voted early in Chicago. I saw a picture of him doing it, but I saw him voting again today wearing different clothes. What gives?

Can someone check into this for me?

“Reports from OH: Long lines in rural counties & what may be record turnout in GOP areas. Turnout in Cleveland looks weak.”

I am 79 years old and was at the Yardley PA rally in Bucks County on Sunday night with my son and daughter-in-law. We stood for 5 1/2 hours amidst a crowd of 30,000! Early birds were in the bleachers. The exit off 95 had to be closed off. Many, many young families with toddlers and children. Very polite, helpful, friendly crowd. Three young Orthodox Jewish men standing beside us with their long dangly curls in front of their ears, wearing yarmulkes of course, no scarves, etc. They were mesmerized!!!! The kids especially loved the fireworks at the end, complete with red, white and blue!

Thank you Jim Robinson for getting those critters excised from your software and giving us all a chance at last to be able to read and post on such a significant day!!!!The rapidity of posting is amazing. Who are you and what have you done with Free Republic????

I voted this morning about 6:30 am in Louisiana. There was about 20 people in line (polls opened at 6 am).

The voting line moved quickly (which surprised me). I imagine voting will be steady throughout the day.

The preponderance of Benghazi evidence conclusively shows that Obama is a Coward. As a Coward, Obama is unfit to be the Commander in Chief of the US Military.

Obama’s strategic retreat to Las Vegas, Nevada the day after he authorized that 4 Americans were to be left behind to be murdered, has brought indelible shame to his office, and the Democrat Party.

As parents, who among us wants to send our sons and daughters to a US Military that has a Commander In Chief who is a Coward?

May the heros of Benghazi be proud of how we vote today.

They gave their lives for us, now we need to give our votes for them.

Vote as if the lives of our Military Men and Women depended on it.
