The GOP is going to go ALL IN on Marco Rubio 2016
TOTAL VANITY | 11-6-12 | Moi

Posted on 11/06/2012 9:40:19 PM PST by Crimson Elephant

Right or wrong, the GOP is going to pinpoint a "latino problem", which will move Rubio to the front of the line.

You can't make exact comparisons, but this election is similar to 2004....Bush won...shocking the left, and the response was to go with the young guy who was different. There WILL be Obama fatigue by 2016, and the next person can't blame Bush any longer.

The GOP was never going to get the black vote, but they CAN get the latino vote. They are far less monolithic, and are more Christian than your typical white lefty. I also present there are a lot of conservative, hard working latinos who will more readily break from the Democratic fold than blacks....if the case is made to them.

Is Rubio automatically the GOP's Obama? Of course not. He might be, but whether he is or not, this, IMO, is likely to be what occurs.

The Demographic bomb is here. Romney just generated a close election in a DEMOCRAT +6 election....I think we'll look back on this and be amazed Romney got it this close.

The takeaway by the GOP, IMO, rightly or wrongly, will be a conservative, religious latino would flip the entire demographic bomb on its head.

ESPECIALLY if in 2016 the Dems go back to a white guy or woman. Of course, they might go Latino themselves...we'll have to see.

This is going to dramatically change the immigration debate, and I think the GOP is now going to decide to go all in, embrace "reform" and start trying to bring Christian Latinos into the GOP.

Rove made the Christian White Voter the centerpiece for Bush.

Going forward the GOP will try to flip the demographic wave on its head, and do a judo move.

Again...I am not saying this is right or wrong, or what SHOULD happen... it is just a forecast of what I think WILL happen.

One thing is sure, there is a decent chance to attract religious Latinos as opposed to religious blacks.

Now...will the GOP move left to do it?

The demographic wave is here, instead of moving left I hope the GOP makes the conservative case to that wave.

Get ready. Immigration reform will be Obamas NEXT BIG THING...and the GOP might just get onboard the train. For good or bad, for better or worse.

I fear a shift left. I think you can bring in Latinos AND go conservative...but I'm not sure they'll do it that way.

I just hope Rubio is the real deal...because I think he is the "next guy".

Well we better figure out how to convert at least a third of them to a conservative philosophy. There is NO WAY that we are closing the border or removing the tens of millions of illegals in this country.

I could not agree more about Rubio. For anyone trying to get over the intense depression brought on by yesterday’s catastrophe, I suggest you begin thinking of ways to support Rubio in 2016.

From Larry Auster’s website today; Larry is tough on her but as for me I’d say better late than never, Ann:

“Mark P. writes:

Dennis Miller is interviewing Ann Coulter. She is talking about demographics and how we should’ve listened to Pat Buchanan and Peter Brimelow. She even mentioned Brimelow’s book “Alien Nation.”

LA replies:
But where was she? Did she ever promote Buchanan’s and Brimelow’s views of immigration during her almost 20 years as a nationally prominent columnist? No. In her entire career she has written a total of two columns on the subject of immigration, only one of them (published last summer, when she began to realize that demographics likely doomed the Republican party) touching on legal immigration. Since she, with her enormous visibility and influence, did NOTHING to promote the views of immigration restrictionists, why should she have expected other people to be influenced by those views?

Her entire career as a writer has been centered on the idea that all bad things come from liberals and all good things from conservatives. The idea that conservatives have been pushing bad things, namely mass legal Third-World immigration, was beyond the scope of her silly, partisan view of the world.”

Yes, unfortunately you’re right! All the politicians have to do is promise the most goods to the most minorities and sometimes a bit for the others - you know the outcasts (whites).

I guess that means that politics no longer means doing what is best for America but only what is best to gain support for a constituency. Actually, it has probably been like that much longer than I knew but I was blind.

America is lost and will never regain their way. Only those giving away the most will ever win, well at least until it is too late.

Thing is bringing on Rubio to appeal to hispanics in general may not work. Rush correctly pointed out to the person who called in that wanted to offer advice to the Republicans in appealing to hispanics that a Cuban-American may not appeal to Mexican-Americans. Fact of the matter is there is a lot of animosity between hispanic groups. Puerto Ricans are not big fans of Mexican Americans and vice versa.

There may even be a backlash from Mexican Americans for not putting in a Mexican American candidate over a Cuban American candidate. And it will not be beneath the Phlegmocrats to appeal to Mexican Americans by saying that Cuban is not really one of you. Stay with us. There is a high likelihood that argument will work.

He didn’t even deliver the Hispanic vote in his home state.

Rubio is not eligible.

Besides, Marco has more loyalty to La Raza than the Constitution.

Reminds me of when the freepers were all giddy about a possible Colin Powell run.

The republicans deserve Obama for life.

Right or wrong, the GOP is going to pinpoint a "latino problem", which will move Rubio to the front of the line.

The GOP doesn't throw a candidate into the primary, that's up to those who wish to put up with all that crap and if I'm not mistaken, Rubio refused to run this election cycle.

And it's not the GOP who determines the ultimate presidential candidate, it's the voters who have to decide from the many candidates who run......

I'm getting sick and tired of all this GOP this and GOP that crap.........

The GOP is nothing but a name for the individuals who subscribe to the party philosophy, either in its entirety or in part.....

And it's also a cop out for those who can't accept the reality that there are folks out there who just don't accept their own philosophy on politics..... Like it or not, voters are not robots.

Won't work. Pandering never does. Rubio is too soft and squishy...a Romney type.

And folks, he's of Cuban descent...so he's NOT a Latino or “Hispanic”. geez

If Rubio is not eligible why is Obama eligible?
We know for sure Obama’s father was never a US Citizen.
If you agree Obama is not eligible what are you doing about it? Please list your actions against Obama’s eligibility otherwise your comments on Rubio’s eligibility are irrelevant. Rubio has a birth certificate from Miami, Fl and both his parents were legal immigrants.

Who is your preferred candidate in 2016? Somebody who can win?

Well, gosh, perhaps the Republican party should simply fold into the Democrat party, that way there will only be one candidate and each side can claim to have won. It is all about winning, right? I mean, everything we learned about politics we learned in junior high school pep rallies. Yay, our team won! yay!

What are you even talking about?

—The U.S. Government has defined Hispanic or Latino persons as being “persons who trace their origin [to] . . . Central and South America, and other Spanish cultures.”[12] The United States Census uses the ethnonym Hispanic or Latino to refer to “persons who trace their origin or descent to Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Spanish speaking Central and South America countries, and other Spanish cultures.”

Winning is not everything...it is the only thing!-—Vince Lombardi, coach of Green Bay Packers.

Richard Mourdock, Todd Akin, Alan West, George Allen, Sharon Angle, Ken Buck, Joe Miller....on and on and on!

All wonderful, good hearted, genuine conservatives. I love them all. Guess how much power they have now to change anything? ZIP, ZERO, NADA.

Marco Rubio, Scott Walker, John Kasich, Rick Scott, Nikki Haley, Kelly Ayotte, Haley Barbour etc may not be all 1005 pure, but guess what they are moving the conservative agenda a Billion times more than those who lost.

What have you “won” if the only way to win is to elect a liberal? Did you learn nothing with this Romney mess?

Thrilling. So yet another ridiculous concept certified by government. You do know this is a conservative website?

I DON’T CARE what THEY call Latino or Hispanic...I check off Native American when I get caught not filling out the census and someone knocks on my door.

I have many friends in south FL that trace back to Cuba and they laugh at those labels.

I guess you replaced all of your light bulbs too since the government told you to.

Are you assuming Romney was my choice during primaries? Heck no. Cain and Newt in that order were my choices.

But I am not stupid enough to ignore the difference between the radical socialist community organizer and the moderate businessman from Massachusetts. Romney was very mediocre candidate, but he was what voters chose in primaries. Why some better conservatives chose not to run?. They are the real traitors.

You really are a block head if you can miss the point so completely. What the GOP might DO has nothing to do with the point you are so fired up about. Just because of how Cubans may view themselves or are viewed or whether the definition is flawed HAS NOTHING TOD DO WITH WHAT THEY WILL DO.

I think they will shoot Rubio to the moon, hoping it bridges the gap. That is a completely separate issue from whether it is stupid or would it work or is it taking a whiz into a strong wind. That is an entirely different conversation.

And besides that, Bush hit 40% with that demographic, so appealing to it is more complicated than a simple categorization. There already is a politico article talking about what you are bleating on about, along with Rubio’s wife being Colombian etc etc, so let’s not pretend you are some savant...that is already in the mix...got it?

You want to say it won’t work, be my guest. I am hardly pushing it, just making a prediction.
